Chapter 4: Running into trouble.

I had been walking on the beach for thirty minutes, which led me to understand two things. One, I regained two mana every minute, as now I was at 70 mana from the ten I had when I started walking. And two, I don't think I am on Earth anymore. I have witnessed several animals that I had never even heard about before.

As I looked at a four-winged bird perched on a rock, there wasn't any bird on Earth like that. Along with the system-style screen, it was safe to say this wasn't Earth. I found some suitcases along the way and put them in my Storage area, as I could use what's inside them.

I still haven't found anyone, but with the suitcases, this told me the ship had to have sunk or at least capsized around here. Turning a bend on the beach, I stopped as I saw a person leaning up against a tree. They weren't moving as I took the Revolver out and half cocked it while putting it behind my back, slowly walking forward.

"You okay?!" I yelled out as I slowly walked towards him. They didn't respond. As I got closer, I noticed the rocks on the ground around him had a dark red gleam. This made me sigh as I slowly lowered the hammer on the Revolver and put it back in my belt. With the amount of blood on the rocks, the guy had to be dead.

As I stood next to him and placed two fingers on his neck to feel a pulse, his skin was still warm to the touch. But I didn't feel a pulse, his front didn't show any signs of injury, so I pushed him over, laying him on his chest, and noticed two deep cuts that looked to have been made from crappy knives. No, that wasn't right. Only a big-bladed weapon could have done this.

"A sword?" I muttered to myself as I pulled the shirt off the wound. From the looks of it, the cut looked to be made from a chipped sword or maybe a stone sword. I heard a scream coming from the woods, making me stand up. Do I go in? I thought to myself for a moment and shook my head.

"I need to find out what did this, without the information, I won't know the threats of this land," I said, pulling the second Revolver out and walking towards the forest. I found shoe prints and what looked like a human track with no shoes. Keeping the shod tracks in sight as I followed them for what felt like three miles until I started to hear grunts and laughter.

They didn't sound human to me, making me gulp as I crept through the woods slowly. I thanked my father for taking me hunting twice a year since I could remember. As I got closer, I squatted down near a tree that had a bush next to it and looked around it before quickly pulling back.

I wanted to throw up, as I had just witnessed ten ugly-looking green beings that looked humanoid, but I could tell they weren't. They were violating a naked black woman as she lay limp. I could tell she was alive.

Ten of them, I have twelve rounds. I took a deep breath and looked back as I saw two taller, uglier green beings walk out of the forest near them, and they roared at the smaller ones. The woman looked at the new beings and tried to crawl away, only for them to rip off their loinclothes, and one mounted her from behind.

"Someone, please save me!" She cried out as I gritted my teeth and quickly stepped out, raising the two revolvers and pointing them at the larger beings. Everyone was shocked by my appearance as I pulled the first trigger.

As the .45 Colt round flew towards the bigger green guy who had mounted the woman. Hitting him in the head as green blood and brain matter flew out the other side of his head, shocking the other ugly beings, a beeping sound rang out. But I ignored it for now as I quickly aimed the second Revolver at the one in front of her as he looked back from his dead buddy, and I fired.

The round struck him on the bridge of his nose, blowing the back of his skull off It was at this time that the smaller ones realized what was going on and picked up what looked like sharp stones mounted on sticks. So that was their swords or sword-like weapons. As they were about to move, I gunned down two more.

With another beeping sound going off as the first one fell, four down, eight more to go. As the eight rushed towards me, they were about twenty meters away as I fired. Taking two down, aiming at the next two, pulling the trigger as one was hit in the chest and the other in the gut, falling to the ground.

I started backing up while firing down on another two, and a beep went off. As the closest two came within three meters, I fired as the beings were just slightly taller than my hips, hitting them in the head. Side-stepping as one of the green beings swung the sword down, and I placed the Revolver against his head, pulling the trigger.

The last one froze as it looked around, then back at me, at the two things in my hands; it looked like it wanted to flee the battlefield. "Boo!" I yelled out as it dropped its weapon and turned to run, only for me to shoot it in the back of the head.

A ding sound rang out, unlike the beeping, making me look at the system.

It looks like I level up or something along those lines, as I pressed the Gunslinger word.

[This Job Title allows the holder to have increased accuracy when using a firearm, which also increases damage to humanoid beings. When leveled up, the accuracy and damage will increase.]

I see, so it helps me with using firearms. But how much does the damage increase? I will have to test this out when I meet another hostile humanoid, but for now, let me see what the Title one does.

[You have earned this title by killing ten or more Goblins or those of the species. With this title, your attacks deal increased damage. This goes for any attack range of close combat.]

So they were Goblins, I take it the smaller ones were normal goblins, and the taller ones had to be hobgoblins or something like that. I thought to myself as a scream came out, making me look over at the girl as she looked at one of the bodies. It started to melt, revealing only bones and a crystal-like object with what looked like coins next to it.

I walked over towards her as she looked at the skeleton, and I squatted down, picking up the coins. This made me think for a moment, and when I put it in the storage space, a name came up.

I see —so this is the world's money; it's like a game. Putting the bones and crystal inside the storage space.

I see, so there is a crystal-based system. So many more questions, with only one of mine answered. That is, this world is far more dangerous than Earth. I looked at the system and realized that leveling is a thing. I had three beeps, and most of my stats went up by three, meaning those only get one point per level, while my Intellect went up 3 per level.

"Uhm, excuse me?" A voice said as I remembered the girl. I looked at her and remembered that one of the bags had the morning-after pill inside it, as I pulled it out and gave it to her as she looked at me, confused.

"There is Plane B inside it, so I thought you would want it. Plus, you may find clothes that fit you. I will grab everything else, and we can leave before you ask questions." I said, making her look at the bag and nodding.

After grabbing the drops I had.

And doubled the Hobgoblin loot. I started to make more ammo while waiting. It looks like when you level up, your mana refreshes—using 100 mana to make fifty rounds of .45 Colt before I stopped and pulled up my Creation Magic skill.

I was 25 off from leveling it, so I made up my mind and opened the screen. I was going to make a Charles Daily Triple Threat 12-gauge, a triple-barreled shotgun with an 18.5-inch barrel. So it fails under a short-barreled shotgun; it will be easier to use in the woods that way.

It only cost me 150 mana, since it didn't have many parts and was made from wood stock and a hand grip. The price increase was due to the amount of metal used. Using all but forty mana left, I made fifty shotgun shells.

Twenty-five Buckshot in 12-gauge and Twenty-five 12-gauge Slugs. I put the rounds away after loading the shotgun and then stored the shotgun. The woman walked up and spoke.

"I am finished." She said as I turned to see her wearing loose sweatpants and a loose shirt. "We will head back to the beach and walk along it, as that would be the best way to find others," I said, and she nodded.

Looking at my skill and smiling, as it told me the cost had gone down by 5%. Which may not sound like a lot, but it was in the long run. Now I need 1000 to level it up. With ammo, it won't be a problem, as you can never have too much of that.

"I am John Colt. What's your name?" I said as we started to walk.

"My name is Tina Brown, but you can call me Tina." She said.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Tina. Call me Colt, as I take pride in my last name." I said, smiling, as she tilted her head in confusion. Was Colt an important name? She hadn't heard of it before.

We began to make the three-mile walk back to the beach.
