Chapter 132: End of the Black Wolf Guild
Chapter 132: End of the Black Wolf GuildDespite Feng Yun’s slaughter, guild members poured from every hall, every corner of the compound. They were desperate and reckless, their morale already shattered yet clinging to orders from above.
But Feng Yun was merciless.
His spear danced, each thrust claiming a life. Every motion was fluid, precise, beautiful in its lethality. Combined with the sword formation, the courtyard became a slaughterhouse.
Men screamed as their bodies were torn apart as their comrades fell beside them.
Still, they fought.
From the rear, a group of robed elders stepped forward, chanting in unison. Their qi merged, forming a massive array designed to break Feng Yun’s formation.
Feng Yun’s eyes narrowed. "So you had some tricks after all."
He bit down, throwing a handful of spirit stones into the formation. The lines on the ground flared brighter, the sword qi surging like a flood.
The elders’ array cracked under the force, their bodies torn apart by blades before their chant could finish.
The courtyard ran red.
High above, Hu San roared, his eyes bloodshot. His body was bleeding from dozens of sword wounds, yet his power only grew more violent.
"You think you can end me, old man?!" he bellowed. His hands clapped together, summoning a blood-red sphere of qi that pulsed with destructive power.
The Sword Saint’s expression tightened. He raised his sword high.
The air stilled. Then his blade fell.
The sword light cleaved through the blood sphere, splitting it in two. The backlash slammed Hu San back, blood spraying from his lips.
But still, he didn’t fall.
"I will kill you all!"
He roared, his qi bursting outward in a tide that shook the compound to its foundations.
Feng Yun’s Final Gambit
The formation cracked under the pressure, fragments of the array splintering. Feng Yun gritted his teeth, forcing more spirit stones into the lines. The glow flared again, but he knew it wouldn’t last.
His eyes flicked to Hu San above. The Sword Saint was pressing him, but Hu San refused to die. If the man escaped tonight, the retaliation would be catastrophic.
The night sky trembled with the clash of giants. The Sword Saint’s blade and Hu San’s wolf claws tore at heaven and earth, each collision ripping open the clouds and shaking the very city.
Hu San’s chest heaved as blood spilt from dozens of shallow cuts across his body. Yet his aura remained as ferocious as ever, the phantom wolf behind him snarling, its eyes burning red.
"Old dog!" Hu San spat, his voice echoing like thunder. "Do you think you can end me tonight? Even half-dead, I will tear your heart out!"
His claws swept down, crimson light flooding the courtyard. The Sword Saint’s blade answered, cleaving through the wolf phantom and shaking the compound.
Below, Feng Yun stood within the fading remnants of his formation, his eyes sharp. He could see it — Hu San was wounded, pressed back, but not defeated. The Sword Saint could suppress him, but killing a quasi-emperor realm opponent was another matter entirely. If Hu San slipped away tonight, the consequences would be catastrophic.
"System," Feng Yun whispered within his heart. "Show me an item to trap a quasi-emperor realm expert."
A cold mechanical chime answered in his mind.
[Recommendation: Demon-Sealing Pagoda Fragment. Once activated, seals a target within a formation of absolute suppression. Duration: three breaths. Price: 300,000 top-grade spirit stones.]
Three breaths. That was all.
Feng Yun’s eyes hardened. "Buy it."
A wave of cold light flashed in his hand, forming into a small jade talisman etched with archaic runes. It pulsed with a sealing aura that made even the surrounding qi tremble.
Above, Hu San gathered his strength for a final strike. His body swelled with power, blood burning, qi exploding outward. His wolf phantom grew to its largest yet, towering over the guild compound, its roar shaking tiles from rooftops.
The Sword Saint’s eyes narrowed. "He’s going to self-destruct his core!"
The old man blurred forward, blade raised to strike, but Hu San laughed madly. "Too late! I’ll drag you all down with me!"
Feng Yun’s figure flickered. He appeared high above the battlefield, directly beneath Hu San’s looming phantom. Without hesitation, he crushed the jade talisman.
"Demon-Sealing Pagoda — suppress!"
The world froze.
An enormous golden shadow erupted from the talisman, forming the illusory image of a pagoda that towered into the sky. Chains of divine light shot out from it, slamming around Hu San like the bars of a cage.
"What—?!" Hu San’s eyes widened in shock. His qi flared wildly, but the chains locked tighter, binding his limbs and crushing his aura. The wolf phantom howled — and shattered into nothing.
For the first time that night, terror filled Hu San’s face. "Impossible! What is this treasure?!"
Feng Yun’s cold voice echoed, calm and cutting: "Your death."
The Sword Saint’s blade descended.
The sword light was pure, merciless, and absolute. It cleaved through Hu San’s struggling body, splitting him from shoulder to hip in a single strike.
Hu San’s eyes froze wide, disbelief locked into them. Blood sprayed into the air like a crimson rain as his body fell apart.
The chains of the pagoda tightened once more, crushing what remained of his qi before shattering into dust. The golden pagoda image faded, leaving only silence in its wake.
Hu San — Guild Master of the Black Wolf Guild, quasi-emperor realm tyrant — was dead.
The battlefield fell into silence. The guild compound was a ruin, its walls shattered, its halls collapsed. Corpses littered the ground, blood soaking into the stones, the once-feared guild now nothing more than a graveyard.
Feng Yun landed lightly, his spear dripping blood. His face was calm, but his heart still pounded faintly. That single treasure had cost him nearly a third of his remaining fortune. Yet it was worth it.
The Sword Saint descended beside him, his robe torn, his chest rising and falling heavily. He looked down at Hu San’s corpse, then at Feng Yun. For a long moment, he said nothing. Finally, he gave a faint nod.
"Well done."
The old man’s voice was calm, but in his eyes was a flicker of approval.
Feng Yun inclined his head. "If he had escaped, he would have come back stronger. Better to end it now."
The Sword Saint’s lips curved faintly — the closest thing he had to a smile.
Around them, the last surviving guild members fled into the night, their morale completely shattered. None dared stay to fight. None dared even glance back at the bodies of their comrades.
The Black Wolf Guild — once a major force of Black Plain City — was no more.
By dawn, the news had spread like wildfire.
The Black Wolf Guild’s compound lay in ruins. Its leader, Hu San, was dead. Its elders, captains, and warriors were slaughtered. The guild’s insignia, once feared throughout the city, was burnt to ash.
Merchants, nobles, and sect representatives whispered in fear and awe. Some rejoiced — freed from the guild’s extortion. Others trembled, realising the balance of power in the city had been utterly overturned.
At the heart of every whisper was one name: Feng Yun.
The young man who had brought ruin upon a tyrant faction in a single night. The youth who fought beside the Sword Saint. The mysterious merchant whose shop produced impossible treasures.
His name spread like wildfire, becoming a legend before the sun had even risen.
Inside a secluded courtyard, Feng Yun sat cross-legged, his spear resting beside him. The jade talisman’s remnants lay on the ground, faint traces of golden dust dissolving into the air.
He exhaled slowly. "Three hundred thousand stones... but worth it."
His system interface flickered in his mind, listing his remaining fortune. Millions still sat in reserve, but this battle had taught him something important — spirit stones would drain faster than he expected. He needed to expand his businesses, secure more income, and grow stronger before greater storms arrived.
Because he knew this was only the beginning.
Hu San was gone, but the hooded cultist who had whispered in the shadows of the guild hall was still out there. And behind him... the cult itself.
Feng Yun’s eyes gleamed coldly. "Come then. I would like to see who can stop me."
Outside, the sun rose, golden light spilling over the city. For the first time in years, Black Plain City was free of the Black Wolf Guild’s shadow.
But for Feng Yun, it was merely the first step on a much longer, bloodier path.
