Chapter 133: Hu Xian’er’s thoughts, Leng Yuexi came
Chapter 133: Hu Xian’er’s thoughts, Leng Yuexi cameThe next day, news of the Black Wolf Guild’s destruction spread like wildfire through the entire Black Plain City.
Everyone was stunned.
The Black Wolf Guild had ruled the city’s underworld for years, feared by merchants and cultivators alike. Yet overnight, they had vanished — their compound reduced to ashes, their members slaughtered, and even their guild master, Hu San, dead.
People whispered in the streets, unable to believe it.
"Who could’ve done this?"
"They say it was Feng Yun who opened the new shop, the Cloud Treasure Pavilion."
"Impossible! The Black Wolf Guild had a quasi-emperor cultivator!"
"They say he had help from a mysterious sword expert. Some say it was the Sword Saint himself!"
The entire city trembled at the name.
Hu Xian’er stood in front of the tall crystal window, the morning light spilling across her figure, outlining her curves with a faint golden hue. Her long black hair fluttered gently as a cool breeze passed through the open window. Her expression, however, was far from calm.
Her eyes, bright and sharp like polished jade, were fixed on the city beyond. From her vantage point in the upper floors of the Immortal Fairy Pavilion’s branch hall, she could see the smoke rising faintly from the western district — the ruins of the Black Wolf Guild.
"He really did it..." she whispered under her breath, her tone a mix of disbelief and curiosity.
Her delicate fingers lightly tapped the window frame. "Destroying the Black Wolf Guild overnight. I thought he was only boasting when he said he’d deal with Hu San... But he actually did it."
A shadow of a smile tugged at her lips, but it quickly faded. "How did he do it?" she muttered, more to herself than anyone else.
Behind her, an elderly man in plain robes stood quietly, his presence calm yet powerful. His aura was restrained. He was one of the Immortal Fairy Pavilion’s protectors — Elder Mo Yu, an old monster who rarely appeared in public.
"How did Hu San die?" Hu Xian’er finally asked, turning slightly to glance over her shoulder.
Elder Mo Yu clasped his hands behind his back, his face grim. "I am not entirely certain. When the fighting began, there were no signs, no energy fluctuations, no alarm from the city guards. I believe Feng Yun blocked the entire area with a powerful formation — something that could isolate both sound and spiritual sense."
He paused, then continued slowly, "After the battle, I went there myself to investigate. What I saw was... astonishing."
Hu Xian’er’s eyes narrowed. "Go on."
"Hu San’s body was cut apart by pure sword intent. It was not just any sword intent — it was sharp enough to erase his soul completely. That can only mean one thing: the Sword Saint himself acted."
Hu Xian’er frowned lightly. "That explains Hu San, but what about the others?"
"The other corpses," Mo Yu said, "were different. They bore traces of spear intent — violent and fierce, but not refined enough to belong to the Sword Saint. It matched the style of Feng Yun."
Hu Xian’er turned back toward the window, her gaze distant. "So, the Sword Saint killed Hu San, and Feng Yun killed the rest?"
The old man shook his head. "Unlikely. Even if his spear intent has grown stronger, Feng Yun is still only in the Martial King Realm. To kill multiple Saint Realm experts alone would be nearly impossible. He must have had other helpers, or used something extraordinary — maybe a treasure or a formation. The battlefield showed faint traces of spatial sealing energy, but I couldn’t identify the source."
A long silence followed.
Hu Xian’er’s lips parted slightly. "A formation capable of suppressing so many Saint Realm cultivators... and doing it quietly, without drawing the attention of nearby people? That’s no simple matter."
Elder Mo Yu nodded. "Indeed. Whoever provided such means... isn’t ordinary. Either Feng Yun is backed by a powerful force, or he’s hiding a secret greater than we imagined."
Hu Xian’er’s gaze deepened. She remembered his confident smirk, the way he always seemed one step ahead. Every time she tried to gain the upper hand, she ended up flustered — humiliated even — yet he never seemed to take her seriously.
Her fingers clenched slightly. "That man... he’s dangerous."
Elder Mo Yu looked at her calmly. "Do you fear him, Saintess?"
She hesitated, then shook her head. "No. I just don’t understand him. He’s not like other cultivators in this city. It’s as if he knows too much... as if he’s waiting for something."
Elder Mo Yu’s brows furrowed. "Then you must be cautious. If the Blood Demon Sect was truly connected to the Black Wolf Guild, this event will not go unnoticed. Feng Yun may have invited a storm upon himself — and anyone close to him."
Hu Xian’er’s expression hardened at that. She stayed silent for a moment, then turned around. "Send people to keep an eye on him — discreetly. I want to know every move he makes from now on. But do not provoke him. Not yet."
"As you command," Elder Mo Yu said, bowing slightly.
As he turned to leave, Hu Xian’er’s gaze lingered on the window once more.
Below, the city looked peaceful, but she could sense the undercurrents. Merchants, guilds, and sects were already whispering about the fall of the Black Wolf Guild. Fear and curiosity were spreading like wildfire.
She murmured to herself, "Feng Yun... just what are you hiding?"
The morning sunlight fell on her veil, outlining her beautiful face. But behind her calm eyes was a flicker of emotion she didn’t want to admit — curiosity... and something dangerously close to admiration.
....
While rumours swirled outside, Feng Yun sat quietly in his courtyard, looking calm as ever. The battle had ended, but he could still feel the faint ache in his meridians — a reminder of last night’s fierce fight.
He had killed many, but it wasn’t victory he was thinking about. It was what would come next.
Not long after, a familiar voice came from outside. "Feng Yun, are you there?"
Feng Yun looked up. He knew that voice.
When he stepped out, he saw Leng Yuexi standing at the gate, wearing a light blue dress. Her hair fluttered softly in the morning breeze, and her expression was mixed — relief and worry both showing on her face.
"Yuexi," Feng Yun said with a small smile. "You came early."
"I heard what happened last night," Leng Yuexi said quickly, stepping closer. "Everyone’s talking about it. The entire guild was wiped out. Were you hurt? Are you alright?"
Her voice carried genuine concern.
Feng Yun chuckled lightly. "Do I look hurt to you?"
Leng Yuexi frowned a little, not amused by his casual tone. "You’re always like this — acting calm even when things are dangerous. Do you realise how risky it was? Hu San wasn’t some random thug."
"I know," Feng Yun said quietly, his tone more serious now. "That’s why I had to end it quickly. If I left him alive, he’d have come for me later... and not just me. The people around me would’ve been in danger too."
Leng Yuexi sighed softly. "Why didn’t you tell me? I would have asked my mother’s help. You didn’t need to do it alone."
Feng Yun looked at her and smiled faintly. "That’s because I can handle it."
She looked into his eyes for a moment — seeing the quiet confidence there, but also something else... something heavier. The burden of someone who carried more than he showed.
"Still", she said finally, her voice softening, "promise me you’ll be careful next time. I don’t want to hear about you fighting quasi-emperors again."
He chuckled. "Alright, alright. I’ll be careful."
She gave him a small glare, but the worry in her eyes didn’t fade.
Just then, Wang Ruo came from the inner courtyard, holding a tray of tea. Seeing Leng Yuexi, she smiled politely. "Miss Leng, you came to visit?"
Leng Yuexi nodded with a friendly smile. "Yes."
They sat together in the courtyard. Leng Yuexi asked more about the fight, but Feng Yun gave only brief answers. He didn’t mention the system or the Heaven-Sealing Chain.
By the time she left, Leng Yuexi seemed more at ease. Before she went, she turned to him and said quietly, "You did the right thing... But don’t overdo it."
Feng Yun nodded slightly, watching her walk away.
As the wind blew through the courtyard, he looked toward the sky. The Black Wolf Guild was gone, but he knew it was only the beginning. Somewhere far away, the Blood Demon Sect had already noticed.
The calm before the next storm had begun.
