Chapter 195: Public Announcement
GMA Network Center – Studio 3Live Special Coverage: TG Holdings Announcement10:58 AM**
Studio 3 of GMA Network Center was colder than most boardrooms. The production crew kept the temperature low to counter the stage lights. Bright lamps hung from the ceiling grid, arranged to eliminate shadows on the broadcast set. Technicians moved around with headsets, adjusting camera angles, setting cue cards, and finalizing the teleprompter.
Reporters filled the front rows, not as an audience but as witnesses to an announcement none of them had expected from TG Holdings Incorporated. They whispered among themselves, comparing notes, checking their phones for background details on Timothy Guerrero and his expanding conglomerate.
The anchor assigned to the broadcast, Mia Lascano, rehearsed her opening line while a makeup artist dabbed powder onto her face.
"Final check on mic levels," a producer called out. "Camera 1, lock focus on podium. Camera 3 for audience sweep. Camera 2 ready for the close-up."
Studio 3’s stage had been transformed for the event. A podium bearing the TG Holdings Inc logo stood in the center. Behind it, a modest backdrop with a simple message: TG Holdings Live Announcement.
No lights, no flashy graphics, no corporate theatrics.
Just clarity.
At the left side of the studio, Hana stood reviewing her notes. Her suit was simple, her posture steady. She had spent the past two days coordinating with GMA management, legal teams, and TG’s communications division. This was not just a press briefing. It was national broadcast. It needed precision.
A floor manager approached her.
"Ms. Hanwell, Mr. Guerrero arrives in forty seconds."
"Thank you," she said.
She checked the time again. 10:59 AM.
Behind the stage, Timothy waited with two security personnel. He wore a dark jacket, light shirt, no tie. His expression was calm, neither tense nor eager. This was not a product launch. This was a declaration of responsibility.
The floor manager checked his earpiece. "Going live in twenty seconds. Mr. Guerrero, please step into position."
Timothy nodded once and walked toward the podium.
The set fell silent.
The lights brightened.
Mia looked into Camera 1 as the red light turned on.
"This is a GMA News Special Coverage. TG Holdings Incorporated is set to deliver a major national announcement. With us today is TG Holdings CEO, Mr. Timothy Guerrero, whose company has recently expanded across transportation, semiconductors, and energy systems."
She turned slightly toward him.
"Mr. Guerrero, the floor is yours."
Camera 2 switched on. Timothy’s face filled the screens across the Philippines.
He began speaking without looking at the teleprompter.
"Good morning. Thank you to GMA Network for giving us the space to speak directly to the public. Today, TG Holdings Incorporated is announcing a long-term national initiative. Not a temporary donation program, not a publicity campaign. Something permanent."
The reporters straightened. Laptops opened. Phones recorded.
Timothy continued.
"Last week, I visited a public school in a rural community while assessing a hydroelectric project. That school had broken chairs, damaged walls, and no reliable electricity. It was not an isolated case. There are thousands of schools in similar or worse condition."
He paused. The studio lights reflected off the podium.
"The state of many public schools is not a failure of teachers or students. It is a failure of infrastructure. A failure of oversight. A failure of sustained support."
Camera 3 did a slow sweep of the reporters.
Timothy continued, voice steady.
"Today, TG Holdings is establishing the TG Foundation. Its mission is simple: rebuild, repair, and support public schools across the Philippines, especially in rural and underserved areas. This is not a corporate side project. It is a permanent philanthropic institution with independent governance and public accountability."
A producer in the booth whispered, "Clear, concise. Keep the tight shot."
Timothy went on.
"The foundation will be funded by a fixed percentage of annual net income from TG Mobility Holdings Incorporated, TG Semiconductor, and TG Energy Systems. One percent from each. The combined amount will grow as the companies grow. This ensures stable and continuous funding without dependency on political cycles or individual donors."
Reporters typed quickly. Some whispered to colleagues. This was not ordinary corporate charity. It was structural.
"The TG Foundation will publish quarterly reports. Every peso spent will be documented. Every school repaired, rebuilt, or improved will be listed. There will be no political influence over project selection. We will not accept requests for prioritization from elected officials."
There was a small stir among the reporters. Statements like that were rare. Direct. Unfiltered.
Timothy continued.
"The first phases will target provinces with documented infrastructure gaps. Our initial sites include Nueva Vizcaya, Eastern Samar, and Negros Occidental. Surveys begin next month."
He stepped slightly back from the podium.
"Before I take questions, let me be clear. The TG Foundation is not replacing government responsibility. It is supporting it. If we can build advanced electric vehicles, semiconductor fabs, and next-generation energy systems, we can build classrooms. Our goal is simple: Philippine children should not learn in collapsing buildings."
Mia waited a beat and stepped forward.
"Thank you, Mr. Guerrero. We will now open the floor for questions."
She gestured to the front row.
A reporter from GMA News asked first. "Mr. Guerrero, this is a large-scale philanthropic commitment. Why establish a foundation rather than simply donating directly to districts?"
Timothy answered without hesitation.
"Donations fade. Foundations endure. A foundation allows structured, long-term intervention instead of one-time support. It prevents money from being scattered, misused, or dependent on annual decisions."
Another reporter raised her hand. "Is this connected to TG’s recent expansion into public transport and energy? Some critics might say this is image management."
Timothy replied calmly.
"No. The foundation has no connection to product development, transportation policy, or energy negotiations. It exists because I have seen firsthand how difficult it is for children to study in decaying classrooms. If this improves TG’s reputation, that is incidental. The foundation’s purpose stands on its own."
A journalist from CNN Philippines spoke next. "Will the government have oversight over the foundation?"
"The government will receive full reports," Timothy said. "But it will not control operations. Independence is essential."
Another question came.
"Who will lead the foundation?"
"The executive director will be announced next week. We have selected someone with extensive field experience rebuilding schools in disaster zones."
Further questions followed. Funding structure. Audit process. Expected timelines. Timothy answered each with clarity. No embellishment, no vagueness.
When the final question ended, Mia turned back to the camera.
"This has been a GMA News Special Coverage. TG Holdings has announced the formation of the TG Foundation, a philanthropic organization focused on rebuilding public schools across the country. We will continue to provide updates as more details emerge."
The red light on Camera 1 turned off.
Studio 3 exhaled as the tension dissipated.
Crew members relaxed. Reporters closed laptops and stood. Producers discussed follow-up segments.
Timothy stepped away from the podium. Hana approached him.
"You handled it cleanly," she said.
"It was the easiest part," Timothy replied.
"Now comes implementation."
