Chapter 239- Useless Slime might not be that Useless

Viktor opened his mouth to respond——and promptly shut it.

"You are the only calm one here, Elara." Viktor complimented genuinely, seeing all of his wives too much chaotic—Bella and Kaida from day’s activity clearly energetic, Helena and Mira silent and passive which he appreciated—but one at least seemed like talking.

’What’s with them?’ Viktor sighed, then turned to the last woman still standing silently in the corner.

"Helena."

The slime flew through the air, spinning end over end, goggles flashing in the sunlight.

The small, melon-sized slime suddenly expanded mid-air, its gelatinous body ’ballooning’ outward in a burst of purple light that swallowed the entire courtyard in shadow.

Elara’s eyes went wide as saucers.

"What—what is—?!"

The light intensified.

And then—

"RAAAARGGGGGHHHHH!"

The sound was ’primal’. Ancient. A noise that bypassed rational thought and went straight to the lizard brain that screamed ’PREDATOR’.

Elara stumbled back, her legs giving out beneath her.

She fell.

Because hovering above the manor—so massive it blotted out the sun—was a ’dragon’.

Its body was the size of the entire manor. Wings—translucent, membrane-thin, like stained glass—stretched out on either side, each one easily as wide as the courtyard itself. Its scales weren’t scales at all—they were gelatinous, shifting, pulsing with that same purple light.

Razor-sharp teeth filled a maw that could swallow a house whole.

Claws—massive, deadly—dug furrows into the earth as it landed with a ’BOOM’ that shook the ground.

And those goggles—those tiny, ridiculous goggles—were now perched on a head the size of a carriage.

The dragon’s voice was still that same high-pitched ’kyu’, but now it ’rumbled’ through the air like thunder.

Elara screamed.

Helena, to her credit, didn’t even flinch.

Simply because she had seen him last time too, she had been so shocked and worried for Viktor but given how she didn’t feel any fear pressure and fear from that roar, it seemed like Rusty only teased Bella maybe.

Every other woman—Mira, Kaida, and her—seemed much more calmer.

Yet she still felt overwhelmed knowing her young master somehow not only grown a tail but also gotten such a huge monster with him, she just sighed.

"Miss Elara, since your ears are fine, it looks Rusty likes you unlike Bella."

"Eh?" Elara’s amber eyes trembled, clearly shocked as she kept blinking, not understanding what was happening here. She just thought, ’Wasn’t he a perverted nobleman?’

"Hey, are you okay?" Viktor’s voice was the only thing that made her widened gaze focus. There he stood, with his hand stretched out, sweat falling from his forehead through his jawline and chest, the sharp muscles faintly visible beneath his white shirt.

His densely packed balck ruffling hair and those black eyes looked at her as if they could devour everything, making her feel a soft but clear sound among the rustle of air.
