172: Improve your temperament - 1
Early the next morning.
Lin Wanxing spent half the day in her room doing mental preparation. Finally, she took a deep breath, changed into a conservative set of yoga clothes, and pushed open the door to the secondary bedroom.
In the living room, Jiang Ye and Su Ning were "confronting" each other across the sofa.
"It's already eight-thirty. Aren't you going to prepare to start your livestream?" Jiang Ye pointed at the wall clock, his tone impatient.
Su Ning clutched her stomach, looking "weak" as she sprawled on the sofa: "I have diarrhea! I just asked the Hall Manager for an hour off! I don't start work until ten!"
"Then go have diarrhea!" Jiang Ye raised an eyebrow.
"I already did!" Su Ning said matter-of-factly.
"Then go to work!"
"I took time off!"
"..."
"..."
The two stared each other down, the air thick with childish tension.
Seeing Lin Wanxing's door open, Jiang Ye immediately changed tactics and began enticing her:
"Little Su, you still need to put effort into your livestreaming career. What if your Big Brother feels sorry for you and logs on at nine sharp, wanting to surprise you with some gifts, only to find no one on your shift? How disappointing would that be? Opportunities are for those who are prepared!"
Su Ning's expression clearly shifted, her eyes flickering, obviously stirred by the keywords "Big Brother" and "gifts."
But after hesitating for just half a second, she decisively shook her head.
She could still tell the difference between one full meal and meals every day!
Right now, she seemed to have the advantage offline, making Brother Ye unable to ignore her. But what if something "unexpected" happened between him and Sister Wanxing during the yoga class... Then she'd instantly go from being the "Little Sister Su" who could treat them to a meal to an annoying third wheel!
That kind of risk was absolutely not worth taking!
Thinking this, Su Ning pouted her little mouth and immediately switched to a pitiful mode, clasping her hands together and bowing to Jiang Ye:
"Please, please, little brother~ I just want to watch! What if this yoga suits me too? I could learn it in the future to strengthen my body!"
"It's fine if Little Su wants to watch."
Lin Wanxing walked over with a smile, quickly glancing at Jiang Ye's outfit—an ordinary short-sleeved T-shirt and athletic shorts.
She felt a slight sense of relief.
Good, this guy didn't pull any tricks. If he'd dared to wear super-tight yoga pants, she really would have considered calling the police.
Hearing the coach speak, Jiang Ye could only glare at Su Ning and reluctantly laid out the two yoga mats he'd prepared earlier in the center of the living room. He took the initiative to stand on one of them, waiting for the class to start.
Lin Wanxing had originally wanted to emphasize "class discipline" again, but seeing him looking so honest and simple, and then glancing at Su Ning sitting cross-legged on the sofa, sipping water from a cup with an expression that screamed "I'm the supervisor," she felt it wasn't really necessary.
"Alright, let's begin now."
Lin Wanxing walked over and stood firmly on the other mat: "We'll start with basic warm-ups as usual."
Since Lin Wanxing was already leading Jiang Ye's fitness classes, he was naturally very familiar with the various warm-up movements.
Following Lin Wanxing's commands, he quickly loosened his joints, making his body slightly warm up.
After the warm-up, Lin Wanxing gently exhaled: "Good, next we'll learn a few beginner poses."
"Poses?" Jiang Ye blinked, unfamiliar with the term.
Just as Lin Wanxing was about to explain, the "knowledgeable" Su Ning beside them spoke up first: "It means positions! Positions! Little brother, you don't even know that?"
Jiang Ye let out an enlightened "Oh—" and instantly understood.
Lin Wanxing: "..."
The corner of her mouth twitched slightly. She pretended not to hear anything and continued teaching with a straight face:
"First, we'll start with 'Mountain Pose.' This is the most basic and important standing posture in yoga, the foundation of all standing poses."
"Standing? There's a technique to standing? Isn't it just standing?"
"Of course there is. How do you usually stand?"
Jiang Ye scratched his head and instinctively struck a pose he felt most comfortable in—
His body weight completely on his left leg, his right leg casually splayed out, his whole body in a "stand at ease" state, typical of a Northeastern man's everyday stance.
Seeing his "natural" appearance, Lin Wanxing couldn't help but smile:
"Besides the well-known benefits of yoga—like enhancing flexibility, balance, reducing stress and anxiety—for men, I think a very important but often overlooked benefit is improving external posture and internal spiritual demeanor."
She paused, her tone becoming more serious: "Demeanor is something intangible, but it's often a man's most precious asset. Sometimes, it can even reflect a person's level more than looks or clothing. For example, the simplest things like standing posture or walking gait actually have better ways to make you appear more upright, steady, and powerful."
Listening, Jiang Ye's casual expression faded a bit, and he didn't interrupt.
Lin Wanxing continued earnestly: "Jiang Ye, although I don't know exactly what you do for work, I think... well... in terms of cultivating your inner core and external demeanor, you really do have a lot of room for improvement."
Jiang Ye was slightly taken aback.
This was the first time someone had directly talked to him about things like "demeanor" and "inner core"—terms that sounded a bit abstract but genuinely affect a person's first impression on others.
He instinctively glanced at Lin Wanxing beside him, with her upright figure and undeniable outstanding demeanor, then peeked at Su Ning on the sofa, who, though pretty, had more of a girlish charm and was now wide-eyed, trying hard to listen. He nodded to himself.
Hmm, that makes sense.
It seems there really is a big difference in whether one has good demeanor or not.
Seeing that he didn't seem Dislike but was instead thinking seriously, Lin Wanxing continued explaining:
"You can also think of it as a kind of 'aura.' For example, some people wear designer clothes but give off a nouveau riche vibe; while others, even in tank tops and flip-flops, can make you feel their inner depth and strength."
"Of course, I'm not saying we should deliberately cater to others' opinions, but rather that consciously improving your inner core and external demeanor can often help you ascend more quickly or achieve your goals more smoothly. This is especially important for you men, particularly in social interactions."
This time, Jiang Ye truly listened, setting aside his task-oriented mindset, his expression becoming much more serious.
Money needed to be earned, tasks needed to be done, but if he could By the way improve this "demeanor," it really wouldn't be bad.
"I understand, Wanxing. Let's start then. How exactly do you stand in this Mountain Pose?"
Seeing his change in attitude, Lin Wanxing felt somewhat Relieved and began teaching in detail:
"Good, let's return to Mountain Pose. For the first practice, we're not aiming for difficulty; first, find the feeling of 'aligning' your body."
She demonstrated while explaining: "Feet apart, hip-width or shoulder-width is fine. Toes naturally spread out, lightly gripping the ground like tree roots, heels firmly planted on the floor."
Jiang Ye adjusted his feet, feeling a bit awkward—not as comfortable as standing with his legs casually apart.
"As for the legs..."
Lin Wanxing continued guiding: "Knees slightly bent, don't lock them, keep them flexible. Thigh muscles slightly tightened and lifted, feeling the backs of the knees are soft."
Jiang Ye tried hard to feel it, adjusting the curve of his knees and the tension in his thighs.
Though somewhat constrained, for the sake of "finding the feeling" and "improving demeanor," he patiently and earnestly learned.
Lin Wanxing observed silently, nodding to herself.
When this guy got serious, his learning ability and body coordination were really good. He didn't deliberately make mistakes waiting for her to "correct" him with her hands, nor did he Perfunctory carelessly.
It seemed this guy was all talk; she really had been overly Defense.
