29: Future can be expected
September 26th. Thursday. Favorable for taking a holiday; unfavorable for working overtime.
In the blink of an eye, Mo Fan had been at Yuxu Academy for nearly a month.
It had also been about ten days since he last added attribute points.
During these days, Mo Fan lived a routine life, moving strictly between three points. He worked diligently, Cultivated diligently, and studied diligently.
Before he knew it, he was living a 996 lifestyle. No, that was wrong—it was 007!
Fortunately, today was the last day of work for the month. After finishing today's shift, he would be on his monthly break, which lasted for four consecutive days. Mo Fan's monthly break happened to be scheduled for the end of the month.
"Once I finish work, I'll head straight back."
"I haven't seen Yingying for half a month; I wonder how that girl is doing."
Thinking of his daughter, Mo Fan couldn't help but frown. Recently, the girl had been acting mysterious. Not only did she not contact him proactively, but when he called her, it often indicated that she was out of service range.
Even when he finally managed to reach her, she would hang up after just a few sentences.
Her explanation was: Being alone at home was too boring, so she went out to see the sights and explore the world!
Having finally managed a Transmigration from the future, shouldn't she go and see what Blue Star was like in this era?
Mo Fan didn't think too much of it. Being alone at home was indeed boring. There was no help for it; entertainment options on Blue Star were too scarce. The same few TV shows were played over and over again. Watching them for a month straight would make anyone want to vomit. Therefore, he could understand why his daughter went out to explore.
"It seems the matter of sending my daughter to school needs to be put on the agenda."
"It's the end of the month; that girl should be heading back now, right?"
"I'll call and ask later."
He still remembered his daughter saying when she visited him that she would give him a surprise when he returned home for his break.
While thinking about this, Mo Fan finished washing up, straightened his clothes, and prepared to head out for work. Just as he pushed the door open, he saw Xu Jing next door also opening her door.
"Go-good morning," Xu Jing greeted him proactively.
"Good morning." Mo Fan smiled, walked over, and began walking side by side with her.
"The monthly break is starting; wh-what are you planning to do?" Xu Jing asked softly.
"I'm heading back home; my house is in Jiangcheng, which is very close," Mo Fan said.
"Mm," Xu Jing nodded.
"What about you? What are you planning to do?"
"Cu-Cultivate," Xu Jing replied without hesitation.
"Working so hard?" Mo Fan was surprised.
"I n-need to reach the Body Tempering Seventh Level early, apply for the Outer Sect Promotion Assessment, and go to the Sword Pavilion to become stronger..." Xu Jing answered.
Applying for the Outer Sect Promotion Assessment when reaching the Body Tempering Seventh Level was Mo Fan's suggestion. Having mastered the Shadow Severing Sword Art, Xu Jing could unleash Innate combat power once she reached the Body Tempering Seventh Level.
Of course, just being at the Body Tempering Sixth Level was still some distance away from Innate combat power. This was because when breaking through from the Body Tempering Sixth Level to the Body Tempering Seventh Level, one's physical potential would be unlocked once again, resulting in a significant improvement.
The so-called Body Tempering Realm actually only had two true stages of Body Tempering. One was when breaking through from the Body Tempering Third Level to the Body Tempering Fourth Level. The other was when breaking through from the Body Tempering Sixth Level to the Body Tempering Seventh Level.
Therefore, once the cultivation reached the Body Tempering Seventh Level, combat power would achieve a qualitative leap, reaching a whole new level. Combined with the Shadow Severing Sword Art, it shouldn't be a problem for Xu Jing to possess Innate combat power.
"That's good, too. Your home is in Yincheng, thousands of kilometers away; it's not easy to make the trip back," Mo Fan nodded, expressing his understanding.
Transportation in this era was not well-developed. Making the trip back was particularly troublesome. For someone like Xu Jing, whose home was far away, the trip there and back would take four or five days. That little bit of vacation time was simply not enough.
Furthermore, part of the road from Jiangcheng to Yincheng was outside the defensive lines, and there was a certain probability of being attacked by demons. Therefore, the trip back was not only troublesome but also very dangerous.
Chatting casually, the two arrived at the Spirit Herb Garden before long.
The morning was still the training session that gave Mo Fan a headache. Fortunately, the first stage of the course was nearing its end. In a few days, the next stage of learning would begin.
Liu Jian had already mentioned it. The next stage would involve truly coming into contact with Alchemy. He would even let them practice hands-on, concocting some simple potions and pills, or refining some powders.
Mo Fan was very much looking forward to this. If he truly had a talent for the Dao, perhaps he could really be taken in as a Disciple by Liu Jian and brought into the Inner Sect.
Even now, Liu Jian favored him somewhat. When facing others, Liu Jian always wore a cold expression. But when facing Mo Fan, he appeared kind and approachable.
"We will stop here for today. It is estimated that after two more class sessions, this stage of training will be over."
"I have some matters to attend to outside the academy these next few days. When I return, I will finish explaining all the lessons and quickly enter the next stage."
"For the remaining hour, study on your own and consolidate what you have just learned."
As he spoke, he seemed to think of something, swept a glance of dissatisfaction across the crowd, and said with a blank expression.
"After training for such a long time, you still haven't even mastered the basics."
"If you are still like this in the second stage, you will only be good enough to weed and water the Spirit Herb Garden for the rest of your lives."
As he spoke, he looked at Mo Fan and continued.
"If only all of you could be like Mo Fan, fully mastering the content of every lecture and making no errors when answering questions."
"If he can maintain this during the second stage, becoming an Alchemist in the future will not be difficult."
Hearing this, everyone couldn't help but gasp. The high barrier to entry for an Alchemist was well known. Yet at this moment, Liu Jian said that it wouldn't be difficult for Mo Fan to become an Alchemist! The high regard was evident!
"Study on your own." Liu Jian shook his head, picked up his lesson plans, and left the training classroom.
Mo Fan awkwardly scratched his head, lowered his head to look at the training materials, and pretended to be studying diligently.
Morning study. Afternoon work. A day passed in the blink of an eye. When the time came, Mo Fan dropped the hoe in his hand and left. "Holiday time!"
PS: Only one chapter today; I will make up for it tomorrow...
Brothers, please keep reading! Recommendations now depend on current readership. If you think this book is decent, please try to click on the new chapter to take a look every day...
During the new book period, try not to stockpile chapters; it's too difficult. With only two hundred something bookmarks and only twenty or thirty regular readers a day, I haven't even been able to get a trial recommendation after half a month of publishing...
