6: Sold for 30 million? First pot of gold in hand

The next morning.

Lu Xingye woke up early, and after breakfast, he changed into a mature-looking suit. Although he was confident, he was still too young, and wearing a suit made him appear more mature.

He then drafted a text message and sent it to Zhou Hongwei.

“Meet at the Rose Milk Tea Shop at ten o’clock.”

About ten seconds later, his phone vibrated. Lu Xingye looked at the screen, which only displayed two simple words.

“Received.”

Lu Xingye glanced at the message, feeling very pleased. He held He Xiaotong's laptop in his left hand and dialed her number with his right.

“Hello, Senior. Calling me so early in the morning, aren’t you going to let a person sleep?”

“Your laptop is fixed.”

“Really?”

“Truer than pearls.”

“Wow… Senior, you’re amazing. I think I admire you just a tiny bit.” He Xiaotong, who was lying in bed, poked her small head out from under the covers, a faint smile unconsciously appearing on her fair face.

“Ah!

Don’t admire me, I’m very dangerous right now.

I might just devour you completely.”

“Hmm, I’m eating breakfast on the second floor of the cafeteria. Hurry up and come pay the bill. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee that I won’t look at the photos in your laptop’s D drive, you know!” Lu Xingye chuckled mischievously.

“How dare you?”

He Xiaotong’s shriek came from the other end of the line, followed by the sound of hurried washing.

Lu Xingye nodded contentedly. He was getting another free meal.

After a moment.

He Xiaotong rushed over.

Since she was going to the dance studio later, she came directly in her sailor uniform. Her flesh-colored slim-fit trousers, V-neck shirt, and the flexible body she had developed from years of dancing made her an absolute stunner.

“Gasp! Who is that person? She’s so beautiful.”

“Her soft body, paired with a slim-fit sailor uniform, her sexiness is simply incredible.”

“Is that our school’s dance goddess? You can’t possibly not know that, can you?”

The students eating breakfast instantly stared, their gazes fixed on He Xiaotong, unable to look away.

“You didn’t look at the contents of the D drive, did you?”

He Xiaotong ran to sit opposite Lu Xingye, her face flushed.

“I guarantee I didn’t look.” Lu Xingye pushed another ordered bowl of preserved egg and lean meat porridge towards He Xiaotong and casually grabbed a fried dough stick, taking a bite.

“Really didn’t?”

“I guarantee I didn’t.”

“That’s not right! Then why did you know that the photos in the D drive were my personal photos?” As if remembering something, He Xiaotong glared fiercely at Lu Xingye, grinding her teeth in anger.

Her personal photo album had never been seen by anyone before! How could it benefit this pig?

“Ah~ Ha…”

“I’m leaving first. Remember to pay for breakfast.”

Lu Xingye caught a whiff of danger, looked up at the wall clock, and then, pretending not to hear He Xiaotong, quickly fled the scene.

“You…”

… “Gasp!”

“Isn’t that our roommate, Lu Xingye? How did he get involved with Goddess He Xiaotong?”

“It is Lu Xingye.”

“He was even exchanging glances with He Xiaotong. Their relationship clearly isn’t simple…”

“What a sin.”

“We all agreed to stay single for four years in university, but you secretly snagged the campus belle.”

“When he gets back to the dorm, we’ll give him a taste of our house rules.” His roommates, who were eating in the cafeteria, spoke indignantly… Lu Xingye walked around the campus for a while, then headed directly to the Rose Milk Tea Shop. It was only nine-thirty in the morning, and he thought he was early enough, but he didn’t expect Zhou Hongwei to be even earlier.

As soon as he entered, his phone rang.

“Hello, is this Mr. Lu? We’re already at the Rose Milk Tea Shop. When will you be arriving?”

“I just got to the entrance.” Lu Xingye replied softly.

“Okay. I see you… Please wait a moment.”

Lu Xingye’s phone vibrated; the other party had already hung up. Then he saw two men in suits walking straight towards him.

“Excuse me, are you Mr. Lu?”

“Are you Mr. Zhou Hongwei?”

Zhou Hongwei nodded, then he and Lu Xingye went to a private room in the milk tea shop and politely ordered milk tea and some snacks.

The two sat opposite each other, appearing unremarkable. No one would have imagined that a major transaction was about to take place here.

Zhou Hongwei sized up Lu Xingye, a bit surprised. This was somewhat different from what he had imagined.

This Mr. Lu seemed a bit too young.

He didn’t look like a professor at Yanjing University; instead, he looked more like a student at Yanjing University.

“Mr. Lu, have you developed the specialized removal software for the Ransomware Trojan?” Zhou Hongwei asked anxiously.

“Yes, I have.”

“It’s just that I don’t have a computer infected with the Trojan anymore.” Lu Xingye took out a USB drive and shook it in front of him.

“I already prepared for that.”

Zhou Hongwei gave a dry laugh, then waved to Zhao Ming, who brought over a laptop infected with the Ransomware Trojan.

Lu Xingye didn't hesitate; he got straight to the point, inserting the USB drive into the computer. A progress bar for the antivirus scan appeared on the screen.

1%

2%

3%

...100%

“Antivirus scan complete, Ransomware Trojan has been cleared.”

“Alright, the antivirus scan is complete. You can check it now.” Lu Xingye said confidently.

Zhou Hongwei took the laptop and carefully checked it, then handed it to Zhao Ming for inspection. After a moment, he switched to a new computer to test the specialized removal software.

The results were the same: the computer returned to normal.

“Mr. Zhou.”

“This antivirus software really works; it completely removed the Ransomware Trojan.”

“Hmm.” In fact, Zhou Hongwei had already seen it without Zhao Ming needing to say anything. The specialized removal software developed by Lu Xingye was very effective; it could completely clear the Ransomware Trojan in just over ten seconds after installation.

This was precisely the specialized removal software Zhou Hongwei had dreamed of!

If the specialized removal software were embedded in the 360 Security Guard, user growth would surely explode. People’s reliance on the Security Guard would increase, and a suite of accompanying software would also appreciate in value.

Ultimately, it would completely outpace competitors.

“Mr. Lu, how much do you plan to sell this specialized removal software for?” Zhou Hongwei suppressed the joy in his heart and spoke calmly.

Lu Xingye paused for a moment upon hearing this, not answering directly. Instead, he counter-questioned:

“How much do you think this specialized removal software is worth?”

“Ordinary software is usually below 100,000 yuan. Considering the significant role and unique nature of the Ransomware Trojan specialized removal software, we are willing to purchase it at thirty times the market price, which is three million yuan.” Zhou Hongwei deliberated.

Three million yuan was already a huge sum for ordinary people. He believed no one would refuse his price.

Three million?

Lu Xingye shook his head. This was too low; it wasn’t even enough for his company’s startup capital.

“Thirty million.” Lu Xingye held up three fingers and said calmly.

“That’s impossible.”

“You know that ordinary software is simply not worth that much. Three million is our absolute limit.” Zhou Hongwei directly refused.
