209: Chapter 209 The Sect Master Summons Him to Assign a Heavy Responsibility; The Northern Border's Demonic Plague Awaits His Subjugation

Ye Qing sat in his Immortal Cave on Tingjian Cliff for seven days, thoroughly consolidating his Early-stage Dao Integration Realm, and digesting most of what he had gained in the Sword Ruins Secret Realm.

On this day, he was sitting cross-legged on a green jade prayer mat, guiding a wisp of earth vein energy to flow slowly through his Meridians, nourishing the magical power he had just broken through to, when he suddenly sensed a sound transmission talisman flying in from outside the Restriction of his Immortal Cave, hovering before him.

He opened his eyes and reached out to beckon, and the sound transmission talisman automatically ignited, transforming into an aged yet majestic voice: "Ye Qing, if you have finished your Cultivation, come to the Council Hall on Wenjian Peak immediately."

He recognized the voice; it was the current Sect Master of the Heavenly Sword Sect, Jian Wuchen.

Ye Qing raised an eyebrow slightly. He had not been in the Sect for long and had not had much interaction with this Sect Master; being summoned suddenly like this, he figured there must be an important matter to discuss.

He stood up, adjusted his robes, walked out of the Immortal Cave, transformed into a streak of light, and flew towards Wenjian Peak.

The Council Hall was located near the summit of Wenjian Peak; the palace was magnificent and imposing in its Aura. At the entrance of the hall stood two Nascent Soul Stage Inner Sect Disciples on duty. Seeing Ye Qing arrive, they hurriedly bowed and saluted: "Greetings, Junior Martial Uncle Ye."

Ye Qing nodded and stepped into the hall.

Inside the hall, the light was bright, and the furnishings were solemn. Sect Master Jian Wuchen was sitting in the main seat. He was wearing a cyan Daoist robe, his face was gaunt, and his temples were slightly frosted; he looked like a middle-aged scholar in his fifties, but in those deep eyes, a sharp light like a sword's edge flashed from time to time.

On both sides of the hall sat several Elders with profound Auras, all of whom had cultivation levels above the Dao Integration Realm, including Elder Jian Wuxin, whom Ye Qing was familiar with.

Seeing Ye Qing enter, Jian Wuchen's gaze fell upon him. He looked him up and down, a hint of approval appearing on his face: "In such a short time, you have consolidated your Early-stage Dao Integration Realm so solidly; it seems you indeed gained quite a lot in the Sword Ruins Secret Realm."

"The Sect Master is too kind with the praise." Ye Qing bowed neither humbly nor arrogantly, "I wonder what instructions the Sect Master has for summoning this Disciple?"

Jian Wuchen did not answer immediately but glanced at Elder Jian Wuxin beside him.

Elder Jian Wuxin understood and spoke: "Ye Qing, the reason we summoned you today is that there is an important matter that needs you to handle."

Ye Qing did not speak, waiting quietly for what followed.

Elder Jian Wuxin continued: "You should know that the Canglan Domain governed by our Heavenly Sword Sect has a vast territory, and there is no lack of Yao Race forces bordering the Human Race. Usually, these Yao Race forces are intimidated by the Aura of our Heavenly Sword Sect and dare not be too presumptuous. But recently, news has come from the Northern Territory that several Yao Race tribes seem somewhat restless, frequently harassing our Human Race borders. Several small human settlements have already been attacked by the Yao Race, suffering significant losses."

He paused, his tone becoming a bit more serious: "The Sect has sent several batches of Outer Sect Disciples to patrol, but the results were minimal. Those Yao Race are extremely cunning; once they discover a Human Race expert approaching, they immediately retreat to their lair, and once the Human Race expert leaves, they come out to stir up trouble again."

"After discussions among the high-level members of the Sect, we decided to send a Core Disciple who is strong enough and astute enough to the Northern Territory to hold the fort for a period of time, and must completely suppress the arrogant flames of that Yao Race." Elder Jian Wuxin's gaze fell on Ye Qing, "After we discussed it among ourselves, we all feel that you are the most suitable candidate."

After listening, Ye Qing was silent for a moment, then asked: "I wonder what the strength of the Yao Race in the Northern Territory is like?"

"The leader is a Golden-Winged Roc at the Early-stage Dao Integration Realm; it is said to have Cultivated for thousands of years, and its strength cannot be underestimated. Under its command, there are several Yao Beasts at the Void Refinement Realm, as well as thousands of low-level Yao soldiers." Elder Jian Wuxin said, "With your current Early-stage Dao Integration Realm cultivation, plus the strength you displayed in the Sword Ruins Secret Realm, dealing with that Golden-Winged Roc should not be a problem."

Ye Qing nodded, did not ask anything more, and cupped his hands: "This Disciple accepts the order. When should I set off?"

"The sooner the better." Jian Wuchen said, "Although the situation in the Northern Territory can still be controlled for now, the longer it drags on, the more variables there will be. You should go back and prepare, and set off tomorrow."

"Yes, Sect Master." Ye Qing replied, then turned around and strode out of the Council Hall.
