75: Chapter 75 Luo Bing's Thanks
The thrilling battle finally came to an end, and the mountain forest was filled with a thick, pungent smell of blood, especially around the mangled corpse of Hua Zirong.
Li Qing did not even stop to rest; he immediately began to clean up the battlefield, his movements nimble and practiced.
He first walked quickly to the corpses of Bao Nan and Hua Zirong, and without a word, he tore the Storage Pouches hanging from their waists and stuffed them into his own robes.
The Storage Pouches of a Qi Refining Peak and a Qi Refining Perfection Cultivator were treasures; they might just allow Li Qing to make a small fortune.
As for Luo Bing, who had contributed quite a bit, others might have hesitated about whether to share the loot, but Li Qing didn't give it a second thought, nor did he intend to split these items with her.
In his mind, he was the savior of a dignified Fairy Luoshui; with her noble status and high standards, how could she possibly care for such trifles?
Besides, he had risked his life to save her from the clutches of Bao Nan and Hua Zirong; taking these items as payment was only right, and he felt not a shred of guilt.
Just as Li Qing finished tucking away the Storage Pouches and stood up to brush the dust off his clothes, Luo Bing slowly approached him.
She had been somewhat disheveled from being chased by the Iron Corpse, her hair bun slightly loose and her sleeve torn, but she could still not hide that cold, otherworldly temperament. With eyes full of gratitude, she looked at Li Qing and thanked him again:
"Thank you, Fellow Daoist. If you hadn't intervened today, I fear I would have already fallen victim to those two scoundrels. I, Luo Bing, will forever keep this life-saving grace in my heart."
Luo Bing's tone was incredibly sincere. There was not a hint of disdain in her eyes for Li Qing's looting of the battlefield; instead, they were filled with earnest gratitude, as she clearly did not care for such worldly possessions.
Seeing this, Li Qing quickly waved his hand, a calm smile appearing on his face, his tone polite and humble: "Fairy, you are being too formal. Helping those in need when encountering injustice is a Cultivator's duty. Any Cultivator with a conscience would not have stood idly by upon seeing you being hunted by villains. I simply did what had to be done."
Looking at this young Cultivator before her, who was decisive in action yet humble in demeanor, Luo Bing felt even more grateful and developed a sense of favor toward him.
"I do not yet know how to address you, Fellow Daoist?"
"I am Li Hu. I have just arrived from elsewhere, and being new to the Luoshui Sect's territory, I am unfamiliar with the area and cannot even tell north from south."
Li Qing did not dare to reveal his real name; after all, he was also a wanted criminal, albeit one wanted by the Houtu Sect.
He then changed the subject and made his first request.
"To be honest, Fairy, what I lack most right now is a map of the area around the Luoshui Sect. If I had a map, I wouldn't be running around like a headless fly. I wonder if you might have a spare map on you?"
For Li Qing, the Luoshui Sect was an unfamiliar place, and a map was the most urgently needed item at the moment.
He had originally worried that Luo Bing would refuse, as maps were important items for a Cultivator's travels, but to his surprise, Luo Bing merely cast a calm glance at him. Without a hint of hesitation in her eyes, she immediately nodded:
"That is not difficult. I happen to have a detailed map of the Yunling Mountain Range under the jurisdiction of the Luoshui Sect, and I can gift it to you, Fellow Daoist."
After saying this, Luo Bing took a neatly folded animal-hide map from her Storage Pouch and handed it to Li Qing.
Li Qing quickly accepted it with both hands and unfolded it. A great river ran across the Yunling Mountain Range; this river was called the Luoshui, and the Luoshui Sect was named after it.
The contents recorded on this map were more detailed than the one Zhou Peng had given him; after all, it came from the hands of the Luoshui Sect.
Li Qing carefully put the map away, looked at Luo Bing, and then voiced his next request:
"Fairy Luo, I have one more very important matter I would like to ask your advice on. I hope you will not hesitate to enlighten me."
"Fellow Daoist Li Hu, there is no need for such formalities. Feel free to ask whatever questions you have; as long as I know the answer, I will certainly tell you truthfully."
Luo Bing said gently, her attitude toward Li Qing being very friendly.
Li Qing took a deep breath, his gaze becoming exceptionally serious, and he asked, word by word:
"I have heard that near the Luoshui Sect, there is a master of medicine known as Divine Doctor Wei. His medical skills are superb, and he can cure all kinds of difficult and miscellaneous illnesses. I have come here specifically to find Senior Wei. I wonder if you might know where Senior Wei is currently located?"
He kept the purpose of his trip in mind: to find Divine Doctor Wei and save the unconscious Zhou Yao. This matter allowed for no carelessness; no matter how difficult it was, he had to find Divine Doctor Wei.
Upon hearing that Li Qing was looking for Divine Doctor Wei, a look of understanding appeared on Luo Bing's face. She nodded lightly and said, "So, Fellow Daoist, you have come for Senior Wei. I am aware of this matter. Every year, there are many Cultivators like you who travel from afar, crossing mountains and rivers just to find Divine Doctor Wei for treatment. However, Senior Wei has a solitary nature and his whereabouts are uncertain. Very few people actually get to see him or receive his treatment; most return empty-handed."
After a pause, Luo Bing continued, "Senior Wei is currently residing in Yingshui City, where he has opened a small medical clinic. However, wanting to see him is not an easy task. He has a strange temper, and even if ordinary people show up at his door, he may not be willing to see them, let alone offer treatment."
Although Li Qing felt a bit heavy-hearted after hearing this, he did not retreat in the slightest, looking at Luo Bing with determined eyes:
"No matter how difficult it is, even if it is a mountain of blades or a sea of flames, I must find Senior Wei and beg him to save a life. This matter concerns the life of someone very dear to me; I have no way back."
Seeing the persistence and earnestness in Li Qing's eyes, Luo Bing was somewhat moved. She hesitated for a moment, as if having made up her mind, then took an ice-blue, uniquely textured token from her waist and handed it to Li Qing:
"Since that is the case, I will help you. Take this token. When you arrive in Yingshui City to find Divine Doctor Wei, bring out this token. Perhaps it can help you successfully see Senior Wei and give you a helping hand."
Li Qing was stunned. He had never expected Luo Bing to be so generous; not only did she give him a map, but she also specially gifted him a token to help.
He quickly accepted the token with both hands; it felt bitingly cold to the touch. On the front of the token was engraved a vigorous and powerful character for "Ice" (Bing). It was clearly not an ordinary object and was obviously Luo Bing's identity token.
Li Qing was both surprised and delighted. He quickly cupped his hands to Luo Bing in thanks: "Many thanks, Fairy Luo. I, Li Qing, will never forget this kindness!"
Watching Li Qing's joyful expression, Luo Bing smiled lightly, said nothing more, and turned to leave.
After walking a few steps away, she suddenly stopped, turned back to look at Li Qing, and with a meaningful look in her eyes, spoke slowly: "By the way, there is one more thing I forgot to tell you. Hua Zirong, as well as the Pi Island Three Brothers from before, are all wanted criminals listed by our Luoshui Sect. The Sect issued orders long ago to apprehend them. Capturing these people will earn you quite a substantial Spirit Stone bounty."
"I hope that next time we meet, I will be able to see your true face!"
After saying this, Luo Bing nodded slightly to Li Qing, then used her movement technique, turning into a cold, elegant figure that quickly disappeared deep into the mountain forest.
Li Qing stood where he was, stunned for a moment, not expecting that his prized disguise technique would be seen through by Luo Bing.
But in an instant, he understood Luo Bing's intention, and his heart immediately blossomed with joy.
This was clearly Luo Bing remembering his life-saving grace and quietly sending him a wave of benefits!
Not only had he obtained the Storage Pouches of Bao Nan and Hua Zirong, but he could also go and collect a generous bounty of Spirit Stones. This trip to save someone had not only helped Luo Bing but also left him with a full harvest; it was truly the best of both worlds.
