He noted with relief that the Electives schedule remained unchanged. Adrian folded the parchment, committing the details to his memory.

Reaching into his desk drawer, he pulled out a stack of parchments and ink.

"I’ll need to begin planning more magical [Inventions]," he said aloud. The idea had been brewing since he arrived at the Academy, and now, with enough time at his disposal, he set to work sketching ideas as they flowed.

For two hours, the room was filled with Adrian’s art on paper, and by the end, he had blueprints for several concepts.

A Magic Heater.



A Magic Cooler.

And Mana Grenades for himself.

But his mind didn’t stop there. Advanced plans still emerged, harvesters, irrigators, plumbing systems, water purifiers and many more, some infused with magic, others purely mechanical.

’These are for my own Kingdom someday,’ he thought, tracing the lines of a water purifier.

For now, he would focus on the simpler inventions, starting with the heater, cooler, and grenades.

Exhausted but satisfied, Adrian stood up from the chair and approached his bed to lay on.

The world dissolved before him after his order, and everything soon darkened as his consciousness slipped away.

When the light returned, he found himself in his personal world. The colorful sky and the vibrant green grasses still remained the same from his last visit.

The familiar sight of advanced machinery greeting Adrian as he walked inside, a stark contrast to the medieval constraints of the world outside.

He had always wished for the day to work here and it was finally time. Adrian made his way to the area reserved as the workshop.

Workbenches stretched across the room, equipped with tools and devices far beyond this world.

Everything he needed for production was here, from raw materials from his [Inventory] to mechanical machines he hadn’t yet created.

The equipment was so advanced it felt like cheating, but Adrian wasn’t one to complain about an edge.

He decided to start with the Magic Grenade, the simplest of his planned inventions.

It required only two core components: a Magic Crystal, refined to be volatile, and a metal casing to house it.

For the casing, Adrian chose Vyrillium, a lightweight yet incredibly durable alloy he had created.

Vyrillium was his go-to for most inventions, as its molecular structure was naturally attuned to mana, making it ideal for containing volatile energies.

While strong enough to stabilize the chaotic mana of a 1-Star Magic Crystal in its volatile state, Vyrillium had its limits.

It could only handle low-tier crystals for now, but Adrian was confident the next batch of materials he’d ordered from the Association would include stronger metals he could use for better alloys for higher-tier crystals.

The process began with the Magic Crystal. Adrian placed several 1-Star Magic Crystals on the workbench, their faint glow pulsing softly.

Making a crystal volatile was no small feat. Each crystal had a vein-like network within it, a delicate lattice that channeled mana in a stable flow.

Disrupting this flow could cause the crystal to destabilize and explode, a phenomenon Adrian suspected was tied to his [Superpublish] skill.

To achieve this controlled instability, he needed to inscribe precise runes at specific points along the crystal’s veins.

These runes would interrupt the mana flow just enough to prime the crystal for detonation without triggering it prematurely.

Adrian worked meticulously, his hands steady as he used an engraver from the Factory to carve intricate runes onto the crystal’s surface.

Each rune had to align perfectly with the vein’s natural pathways, a process that required both focus and an intuitive understanding of mana dynamics.

One wrong stroke could ruin the crystal or, worse, cause an unintended explosion.

He cross-referenced his blueprint which he had uploaded to the System for a holographic overlay of the crystal’s internal structure, guiding his hand.

The workshop’s tools made this possible; outside, he’d have needed days of trial and error with crude instruments.

Once the crystal was prepared, Adrian turned to the Vyrillium sheets, already pre-cut by the workshop’s auto-forging array.

The metal gleamed with a faint silver-blue hue, its surface smooth yet resilient. He shaped the sheets into a spherical casing, using a press to mold the Vyrillium into two halves that would encase the crystal.

The design was simple: the casing had to be strong enough to contain the volatile crystal’s energy but fragile enough to shatter on impact, releasing the explosion.

Adrian added a pin mechanism, a trigger that would disrupt the final rune sequence when pulled, initiating the mana surge that would detonate the grenade.

He worked slowly, sealing the crystal within the casing and ensuring the pin was secure, testing its resistance to avoid accidental triggers.



As he set the finished Mana Grenade on the workbench, a familiar notification chimed in his mind:
