93: Midnight Rescue

That night, at the zi hour.

Qin Feng had just stabilized his cultivation as a Late-stage Grand Martial Master and was about to meditate for a moment when a light screen appeared in his mind right on time.

[Daily Intelligence Refreshed]

[Green Intelligence: Medicine King Manor's Manor Master Sun Simiao's lifelong Alchemy notes and journals are hidden in his study, the "Baicao Pavilion," on the third row of the east bookshelf, inside a copy of the "Compendium of Materia Medica." It contains his unique insights and improved Pill Formulas for third and fourth-grade Medicinal Pills.]

[White Intelligence: Hundred Flowers Palace Branch Master Su Yuetang has a habit of bathing with flower essential oils at night, especially favoring a blend of rose and jasmine scents. These essential oils are often kept on her bathroom windowsill.]

[Green Intelligence: Blood-Filled Tower Gold Medal Assassin Ji Ruxue (Qing Xue) was tracking the son of the Vice City Lord for clues about the "west lake treasure." She was discovered by his secret Early Stage Martial King guard. After a fierce battle, she was heavily wounded but managed to escape using a strange movement technique. She is currently unconscious in the tall grass of "Luoxia Slope" to the west of the city. Within half an hour, the City Lord's Manor's search party will arrive in the area for a carpet search.]

Looking at these three pieces of intelligence, Qin Feng's gaze sharpened.

Sun Simiao's notes are good, but there's no rush for now. As for Su Yuetang's bathing habits... cough, cough, one should not look at what is improper.

His attention was completely drawn to the third piece of intelligence.

"Ji Ruxue is heavily wounded? The west lake treasure?"

He remembered Qing Xue tracking those two men in brocade robes at the restaurant earlier. It seemed her target was the Vice City Lord's son, and her goal was the so-called "west lake treasure." A treasure that could interest a Blood-Filled Tower Gold Medal Assassin and even have the Vice City Lord's son searching for it in secret was definitely not simple. The intelligence was rated "Green," meaning the clue itself was valuable. If he could save Qing Xue and use this to establish a connection, it would be at least a blue Opportunity, maybe even higher!

"Heh, this is a good deal!" A sharp light flashed in Qin Feng's eyes. Officially, saving Qing Xue could further consolidate his relationship with the Blood-Filled Tower (or rather, with this highly potential assassin); personally, the clues to the west lake treasure made his heart race.

Without hesitation, he immediately changed into night clothes, concealed his presence, and like a bat in the night, silently left the Hundred Flowers Villa, heading straight for Luoxia Slope in the west.

Luoxia Slope is located on the west bank of West Lake. The terrain is slightly elevated, with sparse trees and scattered rocks and grass. During the day, it is a place for tourists to climb high and look into the distance, but at night, it feels exceptionally desolate.

Using the precise location provided by the intelligence, Qin Feng soon found Ji Ruxue curled up on the ground in a patch of waist-deep grass.

At this moment, she had lost the coldness and agility she possessed during the day (even though she was masked). Her blue cloth dress was torn in many places and stained with dirt and dark red blood. The black veil covering her face was gone, revealing a face as pale as paper yet still as exquisite as a porcelain doll, though her eyes were tightly shut and her brows furrowed in pain. Her breathing was weak and rapid, and there was still dried blood at the corner of her mouth; her internal injuries were clearly severe.

Qin Feng knelt down and carefully examined her injuries, letting out a sharp breath. Many of her Meridians were damaged, her internal organs were shaken by a powerful Protective Aura, and two of her ribs were broken. That she could last until now and escape here was entirely due to her cultivation as a Peak Grand Martial Master and her stubborn willpower.

Not daring to delay, Qin Feng carefully picked her up. She felt cold and soft in his arms, yet so light it was heartbreaking. He used his movement technique to avoid any potential eyes and returned to the Green Bamboo Courtyard at top speed.

"Big Brother Qin? You're back? This is..." Xiao Chun heard the movement and came out of the adjacent room. She was startled to see Qin Feng carrying a blood-covered, unconscious young girl.

"A friend. She ran into some trouble and is heavily wounded. Xiao Chun, come help quickly!" Qin Feng gently placed Ji Ruxue on his bed.

"Oh, okay!" Although Xiao Chun was confused, seeing Qin Feng's solemn expression, she didn't ask questions. She immediately displayed the professional skills she had developed at Huichun Medical Hall. She brought warm water, briskly cut away the clothes stuck to Ji Ruxue's blood, cleaned the wounds, and applied Golden Sore Ointment and Blood-Stanching Powder with practiced and gentle movements.

"Her internal injuries are very severe, and her breath is very weak." After checking, Xiao Chun's small face was full of worry.

Qin Feng took out a jade bottle and poured out a longan-sized green Medicinal Pill that radiated intense vitality—it was the Mystic-grade "Life-Sustaining Pill" he had prepared earlier.

"Give this to her."

Xiao Chun took the Medicinal Pill, carefully pried open Ji Ruxue's teeth, fed the pill to her, and then fed her some warm water to help her swallow.

The Life-Sustaining Pill was indeed a Mystic-grade Medicinal Pill. As the medicinal power dissolved, a hint of color soon returned to Ji Ruxue's pale face, and her weak breathing gradually became steady and strong.

Xiao Chun finally breathed a sigh of relief and brought clean clothes to help Ji Ruxue change. Looking at the unconscious girl on the bed, whose beauty was hard to hide even while heavily injured, Xiao Chun couldn't help but peek at Qin Feng and whisper, "Big Brother Qin, this friend of yours... she's really beautiful..."

Qin Feng was checking the doors and windows to ensure no traces were left. Hearing this, he couldn't help but chuckle and rubbed Xiao Chun's head. "Don't overthink it. Hurry and help her get settled. You'll have to work hard tonight to look after her for a while; keep an eye on her condition."

"Got it!" Xiao Chun nodded obediently and continued her work.

Qin Feng walked to the window and looked out at the deep night. He thought to himself, "The City Lord's Manor's search party should be arriving at Luoxia Slope soon, right? Unfortunately, they are destined to come up empty-handed."

He glanced back at Ji Ruxue, whose breathing was gradually stabilizing on the bed, and thought of the mysterious "west lake treasure." The corners of his mouth curled up slightly.

This rescue came with no small risk, but the reward might far exceed expectations. He would just wait for this Gold Medal Assassin to wake up and see what surprises she could bring. As for the City Lord's Manor and the Vice City Lord's son, they probably had no idea that the target they were searching for and the treasure clues they were pursuing had already fallen into his hands. It seemed the waters of West Lake City were about to be stirred by him once again.
