64: Chapter 64 The Fifth Life, The Blazing Sun Illuminates the Martial Path (Part Twelve)

Before her voice could fade, Yun Mengyao swayed her hips and leaned in close to Chu Shi.

As her eyes flickered, the scheming she couldn't hide almost overflowed.

Chu Shi's fierce display of defeating his opponent in a single move just now, combined with Elder Zhang's personal promise to recommend him as a Core Disciple, made her fixate intensely on Chu Shi's potential.

As long as she could hook this man back into her grasp, she would surely soar to the heavens in the Great Sun Holy Land in the future.

She would never have to look at anyone's expression or endure anyone's petty anger again.

But Chu Shi simply took a step to the side, avoiding her touch once more.

The look he gave her was even colder than before.

His undisguised disgust was like an ice-dipped dagger, stabbing straight into Yun Mengyao's eyes.

"Yun Mengyao, I will say this for the last time."

His voice carried not a hint of warmth, and every word was crystal clear, echoing across the Martial Arts Arena and falling into the ears of the hundreds of people present.

"My wager match with Zhao Xuan has absolutely nothing to do with you.

Do not appear before me again in the future, and do not call me Brother Chu anymore.

Hearing it only makes me feel disgusted."

These words were like a solid slap, viciously striking Yun Mengyao across the face.

The admiration and gratitude she had deliberately forced onto her face instantly froze.

Her well-prepared tears hung on her long eyelashes; she could neither shed them nor hold them back, leaving her completely pinned in place.

Under the gaze of hundreds of eyes—some watching the drama, some mocking, and some filled with disdain.

Her face flushed red and green before finally turning deathly pale, even her fingertips trembling slightly.

Having said his piece, Chu Shi didn't bother to spare her another glance, turning to exchange a few polite words with Seventh Prince Xiao Jingyuan.

Then, he walked straight out of the Martial Arts Arena, heading back to his cabin without looking back.

Yun Mengyao stood frozen in place, staring intently at Chu Shi's resolutely departing back, her fingernails nearly snapping.

But in the next instant, when her peripheral vision caught Seventh Prince Xiao Yuan beside her, her dimmed eyes suddenly lit up again.

If the path with Chu Shi was blocked, there was still Seventh Prince Xiao Yuan!

He was the Seventh Prince of the Canglan Princes Mansion, with a family background even more prominent than Chu Shi's.

If she could latch onto him, she could still turn her fortune around and trample on the faces of everyone who looked down on her!

With her thoughts racing, she hurriedly raised her hand to clumsily wipe away the tears from the corners of her eyes, quickly straightened her messy collar and hair, and squeezed out a pitiful, delicate look once more.

Lifting her skirt, she walked over to Seventh Prince Xiao Jingyuan, bowed gracefully, and spoke in a voice so soft it could melt water, carrying just the right amount of sobbing:

"Greetings, Seventh Prince.

This humble girl is Yun Mengyao... Thank you, Your Highness, for being willing to come and witness the match just now."

She deliberately lowered her posture, repeatedly casting flirtatious glances toward Seventh Prince Xiao Jingyuan's face, hoping to entice him to look at her.

But Seventh Prince Xiao Jingyuan didn't even give her a proper look. He merely swept a glance over her, his noble peach-blossom eyes filled with undisguised disdain and coldness.

"Oh? You're the woman who instigated the wager match between the two of them?"

He paused, the disgust in his tone almost overflowing, each word carrying a bone-chilling coldness:

"My place is no garbage dump. I have absolutely no interest in things that others have discarded.

Don't come near me!"

With that, he didn't spare her another glance, turning to leave with his guards and leaving her with absolutely no dignity.

Yun Mengyao froze completely, her face turning white, then red, then green. The blood in her body seemed to freeze instantly, and even breathing brought pain.

The female disciples who hadn't dispersed yet, including Liu Mei, who had clashed with her before, and her roommates, gathered nearby, whispering behind their hands.

Those mocking voices were completely undisguised, stabbing straight into her ears.

"This is hilarious! She was just dumped by Young Master Chu, yet she dares to try and cling to the Seventh Prince? She should look at her own status first!"

"Exactly. She used to act so pure and lofty in front of us, but now she's sticking herself to anyone like a lapdog. She really has no shame!"

"Serves her right! When she was using Young Master Chu as a shield back then, why didn't she think this day would come?"

Each sarcastic remark was like a poison-tipped dagger, stabbing viciously into Yun Mengyao's heart.

She clenched her fists so hard that her fingernails dug deep into her palms, drawing blood without her even realizing it.

The last trace of forced weakness in her eyes vanished completely, replaced by a wave of monstrous malice and hatred.

She hated Chu Shi's heart of stone, Seventh Prince Xiao Jingyuan's arrogance and rudeness, Liu Mei and the others' kicking her while she was down, and she hated everyone present who looked down on and mocked her even more.

Just you wait, all of you! I, Yun Mengyao, will absolutely not let this go!

One day, I will make all of you kneel before me and beg for mercy!

The onlookers gradually dispersed, leaving only a few scattered people who were still waiting to laugh at her, whispering and gossiping.

Just as Yun Mengyao's body grew cold and she was nearly unable to hold herself up, a series of orderly footsteps approached.

Clad in tight-fitting martial attire, Princess Xiao Xiao slowly walked down from the high platform of the Martial Arts Arena, accompanied by a group of guards.

At a glance, she spotted Yun Mengyao standing in the center of the arena—slender, with red-rimmed eyes, her delicate and beautiful features still clear despite her disheveled state.

She immediately raised her chin and asked the guard beside her, "Who is that? Why is she standing there all alone, with people pointing fingers at her?"

The guard hurriedly bowed and replied, "Replying to Princess, she is Yun Mengyao, the female disciple who caused Young Master Chu and Young Master Zhao to make the wager."

Xiao Xiao's eyes lit up instantly. She sized up Yun Mengyao from head to toe with great interest, let out a soft whistle, and muttered with a smile:

"Not bad, Chu Shi. You've got great taste. She really is a pure and elegant little beauty."

With that, she took a step to walk over to Yun Mengyao.

The guard's expression changed, and he quickly stepped forward to block her, anxiously advising:

"Princess, you mustn't!

The Seventh Prince cautioned you before to act with utmost prudence in the Holy Land. Furthermore, this Yun Mengyao is by no means an easy person to deal with!"

He paused, then quickly gave a brief account of what had just happened:

"Just now, after Chu Shi won, she immediately rushed forward, trying to hook up with Chu Shi again.

After being sternly rejected in public, she turned around to cling to the Seventh Prince, only to be publicly rebuffed by His Highness as well."

"This woman is deeply scheming, and now her reputation is in tatters. Why should you get involved, Princess?"

"Deeply scheming? Reputation in tatters?"

Xiao Xiao raised her eyebrows. Instead of stopping, she laughed even heartier.

Her eyes were filled with the unique interest of a transmigrator who loved drama and didn't mind making it bigger.

"That's exactly what makes it interesting.

As the saying goes, bad women are more flavorful. I haven't tasted a local green tea bitch yet."

She pushed aside the guard blocking her path, threw down the words "If anything happens, I'll take the blame," and strode over to stand in front of Yun Mengyao.

Yun Mengyao was immersed in her hatred and embarrassment when she was suddenly draped over the shoulder by someone, leaving her completely stunned.

She looked up in astonishment, staring straight into a pair of smiling, bright, and flamboyant almond eyes.
