174: Holy Prison
“Closer, even closer...”
Makins stood in the center of a sunken patch of ground.
His pristine white boots were slightly stained with a bit of mud.
The soil here was slightly yellowish, seemingly once containing some kind of Ore, but now it had completely dried up.
Makins, with the huge box slung over his back, slightly closed his eyes, sensing.
In his perception, deep underground here, there was also a trace of the Living Corpse Path’s aura, and it was clearer than before.
Clearly, the other party hadn't left too long ago.
“It's pursuing a Ore vein...”
Makins opened his eyes, his brow furrowing slightly.
“Does the Living Corpse Path have such a need?”
“Or did the Black Witch King create some new monster?”
He stopped thinking further, slowly crouched down, and gently placed his right hand on the ground.
Within his palm, a cluster of blazing platinum Holy Light condensed, then permeated deep into the earth.
Rumble!
The ground trembled slightly for a while, and that aura of the Living Corpse Path was completely annihilated.
Makins slowly stood up, brushed the dust from his hands, and continued walking south.
“The remnants of the Old Gods are always troublesome; we cannot leave them even a shred of hope.”
This was the profound experience Makins had accumulated over the past two hundred years, after cleansing countless remnants of the Old Gods in the Secret Realm.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Just then, behind Makins, the huge box once again emitted dull, suppressed knocking sounds.
It was as if something was desperately trying to break free from its restraints.
The indifference on Makins’s face instantly melted away, replaced by a nearly distorted tenderness.
As he walked, he spoke softly and gently.
“Moni, I know, I know...”
“I will take you back to Graystone Village to see it.”
He walked out of the purified Ore vein area and stood on a small hill, gazing at the even more desolate landscape in the distance.
The wind seemed to carry a faint, almost imperceptible scent of blood.
“However, I heard that the beast tide there is very severe, perhaps the village has already been destroyed.”
“But it doesn’t matter, Moni.”
“I will dig up their corpses and let them merge with you, so you won’t feel lonely.”
As he was speaking, suddenly, Makins’s gaze sharpened, and he abruptly looked into the distance.
He felt that the Undead aura was rising in that direction.
Boom!
Blinding platinum Holy Light erupted, and Makins’s figure transformed into a blazing ray of light, shooting towards that direction.
...
In the deepest part of a copper Ore vein,
the Golden Armor Corpse had absorbed the last trace of golden Qi from here.
The surrounding rock walls and Ore had all lost their luster, turning a dead, grayish-white.
A light touch would turn them into powder.
The indestructible feeling on its ferocious, heavy body became increasingly stronger.
On its dark golden armor and intricate scales, complex, mysterious patterns flickered, exuding a terrifyingly brutal aura.
“Roar...”
The Golden Armor Corpse let out a low, muffled roar, and its massive body slowly sank into a large expanse of darkness.
It had already sensed the location of the next Ore vein and was preparing to travel through the Shadow Realm.
However, suddenly!
A blinding platinum light pillar, like a spear of divine punishment, descended from the sky, forcefully piercing into the Shadow Realm where it was located!
Boom!!!
The light pillar expanded wildly outwards, shattering the intertwined dark shadows in the Shadow Realm into pieces.
Bang!!!
The Golden Armor Corpse’s figure was forcefully squeezed out of the Shadow Realm by the huge light pillar.
Its immensely heavy body crashed heavily onto the reddish ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Its face expressionless, it slowly raised its head.
Reflected in its dark pupils was a burly man with golden hair, dressed in platinum priestly robes, suspended in mid-air.
“Remnant of the Old Gods, I’ve finally found you.”
Makins floated in mid-air, looking down at the strange, ferocious monster below, his golden hair wildly fluttering in the wind.
He clearly felt the deep, suppressed evil aura emanating from the other party, and the silk wrapped around the huge box on his back began to tear bit by bit.
An intricately designed platinum Iron Maiden silently revealed itself.
Countless Holy Light shackles were wrapped around it, silently floating in mid-air, emitting incredibly pure Holy Light.
“【Holy Light Prison】!”
Makins slowly extended his hand, fingers spread, pointing distantly at the Golden Armor Corpse below, uttering a cold voice.
Whoosh...
The next instant, the countless Holy Light shackles wrapped around the platinum Iron Maiden behind him, as if alive, wildly moved and extended.
The tips of the shackles entered the Void Realm and emerged from other angles of the Void Realm.
In a flash, the entire area around the Ore vein was completely sealed by countless Holy Light-glowing shackles, forming a massive, net-like prison made of chains, firmly trapping the Golden Armor Corpse in the center!
“Hoo...”
The Golden Armor Corpse slowly turned its body, glancing at the dense Holy Light shackles surrounding it.
A more violent dark golden aura slowly rose from its body.
Because this Ore vein was located in a sunken area, a large expanse of shadows naturally formed around it.
At this moment, these dark shadows, like a stretched black cloth, abruptly pulled and collapsed towards the center!
The places that were originally covered by shadows mysteriously became brighter, as if their existence of shadow had been stripped away.
And around the Golden Armor Corpse, with it as the center, countless shadows converged, suddenly collapsing downwards, transforming into a bottomless, dark abyss!
Whoosh...
A violent airflow suddenly poured down from above.
It was as if a vacuum had been instantly created within that abyss, threatening to drag all things in the world into it.
The Golden Armor Corpse stood silently in the center of that dark abyss, slowly raising its head and gazing at Makins above with its dark pupils.
The next instant, dense shadows swallowed it, and its figure disappeared from its original position.
Snap! Snap! Snap!
In the Void Realm, large sections of the Holy Light shackles suddenly broke!
Makins’s expression became solemn, and his platinum priestly robes instantly billowed without wind.
A powerful platinum Holy Light suddenly erupted from his body, making him seem like a small sun suspended above the earth!
And just then, directly in front of this sun, a dark shadow abruptly appeared.
Ferocious, tall, heavy, invincible, and indestructible!
On the Golden Armor Corpse’s two thick, cadaveric arms, the dark golden scales instantly bristled, like two fierce blades, plunging violently into the sun in front of it!
Boom!!!
A visible ring of airflow exploded, spreading wildly outwards.
The sparse woodland in the distance, its treetops instantly turned into scattered dust as the airflow swept past them, silently.
The blinding light dissipated slightly.
Within that blazing light, the Golden Armor Corpse leaned forward, its arms thrust forward, exuding an extreme sense of oppression from head to toe.
Opposite it, Makins’s arms were crossed, his brilliant golden hair wildly flung backward by the turbulent airflow.
From the platinum Iron Maiden behind him, countless Holy Light shackles extended, wrapping layer upon layer around his body, forming a massive armor like chainmail, firmly blocking the Golden Armor Corpse’s attack.
“Roar...”
The Golden Armor Corpse let out a suppressed low roar.
On the ground below, the bottomless dark shadow abyss surged upwards, like the gaping maw of a giant beast, threatening to swallow the two figures in mid-air whole.
“Remnant of the Old Gods!”
Makins’s eyes were filled with burning, blazing Holy Light.
“How dare you gaze upon the Holy Light!!!”
His expression was solemn; blazing Holy Light gushed from his mouth and nose, as if an eternal, unquenchable holy fire was raging within him.
