268: Section 268

"Let me put it this way: we are only freshmen now, and having just entered the school, the initial missions won't be too difficult. For example, killing one or two Yao Beasts or exotic beasts of any Realm!"

"Then there are also missions where you just need to earn a certain amount of credits... Anyone who has played games knows this!"

"These can be called beginner missions!"

"However, once we reach our sophomore year, the difficulty of the missions will increase drastically!"

"In other words, while freshman year has optional mission requirements, by sophomore year, they will specify hunting a certain type of Yao Beast or exotic beast!"

"By junior year, it's just like running dungeons in a game!"

"There will be a designated location, just like going on an expedition. You only complete the mission once you obtain a specific required item. Fortunately, you can form squads, and as long as the item is obtained, the entire squad completes the mission together!"

Wei Shang explained the school missions to Lin Yi and the others while eating.

Lin Yi and the others all listened intently and took mental notes while eating.

Finally, Wei Nan couldn't help but ask, "Wei Shang, aren't you a new student too? How do you know so much about this?"

Wei Shang smiled, swallowed the food in his mouth,

and picked up the water cup beside him to take a sip.

"It's alright. Actually, my older brother and sister were both students at Xingwu University, but they have already graduated!"

"One works at the Monster Hunting Bureau headquarters, and the other is a member of a Monster Hunting Squad!"

"They told me about this before. Later, at the Martial Arts Hall, I also met some seniors who told me about some of the missions!"

"Anyway, this information isn't a secret; every university has its own missions!"

"It's just that the missions at Xingwu University are relatively harder, and you might even lose your life!"

"The truly insane ones are actually at Martial Alliance University!"

"The places where they perform missions are Forbidden Zones, and they execute missions alongside the soldiers guarding those Forbidden Zones!"

"Furthermore, what they face are the real exotic beasts inside the Forbidden Zones!"

"The slightest carelessness could cost you your life; it's extremely dangerous!"

Feng Lei, who was on the side, also nodded.

"That's right. The dangers of the Forbidden Zones aren't something we can easily touch, and the exotic beasts inside aren't things we can handle. I remember over a year ago, I met some seniors at the Martial Arts Hall who were students at Martial Alliance University. Later, they went to execute a mission and entered a Forbidden Zone!"

"As a result, out of a squad of eight, not a single person came back alive!"

"There was another Martial Arts Alliance squad where twelve people went, and only two returned, and both of them had been scared out of their minds!"

"I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that among all the universities in the entire New District, Martial Alliance has the fewest students. It's not that they can't recruit students; it's mainly because they die too quickly!"

"Before they even have time to bring in new students, one-fifth of the previous batch is already gone!"

Listening to their explanation, Wei Nan, Zhou Qi, and Sun Tao all felt a chill run down their spines.

They couldn't help but secretly feel fortunate that they had chosen to come to Xingwu University with Lin Yi.

If they had chosen the wrong university and gone to Martial Alliance University, they probably wouldn't even have the qualifications to be cannon fodder.

At best, they would just be delivering takeout to those exotic beasts.

For a moment, Wei Nan and the others all stopped talking.

After lowering their heads and finishing the food on their trays,

Wei Shang smiled and said, "Are you all full? Let's go, I'll take you to the Mission Hall to take a look!"

Lin Yi and the others nodded, stood up, and walked out of the Cafeteria.

The Mission Hall was also located in Dormitory Area 1. Moreover, every dormitory area had its own Cafeteria and Mission Hall.

It was just that there were differences between them. The further back the dormitory area was ranked, the greater the gap would be.

Walking into the Mission Hall, there were machines all around.

"These are self-service mission machines. You can check missions, accept missions, and submit missions here."

"Just use your wristbands to refresh the screen, and that's it!"

After Wei Shang finished speaking, he scanned his wristband on it.

The next moment, a row of missions appeared on the machine's screen.

Lin Yi, Wei Nan, and the others took a close look. The lowest level of these missions was 3-star, and the highest was 5-star.

This was the benefit of Dormitory Area 1. The quality of the missions was the best in the entire school.

Wei Shang smiled and tapped on a 3-star mission on the screen.

[3-Star Mission: Hunt one 1-star Yao Beast, time limit 7 days]

[Mission Reward: 100,000 in cash, 1 bottle of Grade 1 composite potion, 10 credits]

[5-Star Mission: Hunt one 2-star exotic beast, time limit 7 days]

[Mission Reward: 500,000 in cash, 3 bottles of Grade 2 composite potion, 50 credits]

"You all see it, right? You can check for yourselves what kind of missions you want to accept. Once you've chosen, just tap to accept the mission!"

"After you tap to accept, it will be displayed on your wristbands!"

"The place where you perform the missions is Prison City!"

After Wei Shang finished explaining, Lin Yi nodded gratefully, "Thank you!"

"What are you thanking me for? Aren't we roommates? Helping each other is only right. Since you don't understand these things, it's just as well that I filled you in!"

"However, I still want to give a friendly reminder: for your first mission, it's best not to choose 4-star or 5-star ones; you might not be able to handle them!"

"Besides, you haven't been to Prison City and don't know anything about it! Going in rashly might make you suffer. It's not too late to take on higher-star missions after you've learned more about the missions and Prison City!"

"Alright, Feng Lei and I are going to the Training Grounds! We might not be back until after dinner, we're off!"

After Wei Shang finished speaking with a smile, he left the Mission Hall with Feng Lei.

When only Lin Yi, Wei Nan, Zhou Qi, and Sun Tao were left, they looked at each other.

"What should we do? Should we accept one or not?" Wei Nan looked at the machine in front of him and said, feeling a bit uncertain.

Lin Yi mimicked Wei Shang's actions from earlier and operated the machine again. Looking at the various missions on the screen, he randomly tapped on a few to check them out.

"Let's finish the enrollment mission first. Although the starting point is a bit high, since we're all going together, the difficulty shouldn't be too bad!"

As he finished speaking, Wei Nan, Zhou Qi, and Sun Tao all nodded. "Alright, then we'll listen to you. Let's accept a mission to test the waters and finish the enrollment mission at the same time!"

Wei Nan didn't hesitate. Since Lin Yi had made the decision, he would just follow along.

Zhou Qi and Sun Tao also looked at each other. Now, they could only huddle together for warmth.

Especially since the two local students from the New District in Zhou Qi and Sun Tao's dormitory were not as friendly as Feng Lei and Wei Shang.

Now, the only person they could rely on was Lin Yi. Otherwise, given their Realm, it would be very difficult to complete the Yao Beast hunting mission in Prison City.

Because there wasn't just one Yao Beast there. It was a place of exile for Yao Beasts, exotic beasts, and those heinous criminals.

Once they went in, it would inevitably be full of dangers. For just one or two of them to complete a mission in Prison City would be far too difficult.

Thus, they both found their own self-service mission machines and started operating them just as Wei Shang had described.
