Chapter 59 The boy breaks the evil

As soon as Qi Huan finished speaking, the three of them stared at each other blankly for a long while.

In the end, Qi Huan was the first who couldn't hold it in. His eyes flickered a few times, he gave a cold snort, touched his nose somewhat unnaturally, and added, feigning composure.

"Come to think of it, after this long journey... I really do need to relieve myself."

As he spoke, he actually turned around, faced away from the two, unceremoniously unzipped his pants, and without any inhibition, began to urinate against the invisible barrier.

The warm liquid splashed onto the air wall, making a "hissing" sound.

It was as if cold water had been poured onto a red-hot branding iron, and the air wall actually began to ripple and distort.

Liu Ziming gaped at the sight, and only after a long while did he emit a short "Eh?", a look of surprise flashing across his face, followed by an intriguing smile.

Chen Mu stood to the side, watching Qi Huan's back and then glancing at Liu Ziming's grimacing face. Even with his usual cold demeanor, he couldn't help but curl the corners of his mouth.

After finishing, Qi Huan deftly fastened his belt, turned around, and happened to catch the expressions on the two men that hadn't quite faded away.

He was stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized what was happening, and his face immediately flushed bright red. Then, it quickly turned a shade of iron-blue.

"What are you looking at!"

He stiffened his neck, his voice rising a few notches, filled with obvious embarrassment and anger.

"I... I just developed later than others! So what? What's so funny! In the future... in the future, it will surely grow back!"

It would have been better if he hadn't said anything, but saying that made it even harder to hold back!

Chen Mu and Liu Ziming exchanged a glance, nodded in unison with extreme tacit understanding, and then looked away as if nothing had happened, though their shoulders began to shake suspiciously.

"You... what are you laughing at!"

Veins throbbed on Qi Huan's temples. He stepped forward, his face a mix of shame and anger.

"You two, mocking your superior, do you have no sense of decorum left!"

He was already tall and sturdy, and with his eyes wide in fury, he possessed quite a bit of imposing presence.

Liu Ziming subconsciously shrank his neck and hid behind Chen Mu, waving his hands repeatedly, though irrepressible laughter remained in his voice.

"Chief Qi, please calm your anger! This subordinate would not dare, truly would not dare! I just think you are a man of true character, true character!"

Chen Mu merely looked at Qi Huan calmly, the amusement on his face already gone, having returned to his usual indifference.

Qi Huan had nowhere to vent his frustration, and just as he was feeling stifled, a sinister voice suddenly came from behind him.

"Tsk tsk tsk, you actually have some ability, managing to break the Ghost Wall. I truly underestimated you..."

The voice was hoarse and grating, accompanied by the "creak" of the Zhao mansion gate slowly opening, filling one with disgust.

The three of them felt a chill in their hearts, immediately wiped away their playful expressions, and turned to look into the Zhao mansion courtyard.

They saw that the red light in the courtyard remained, illuminating the entire space like a sea of blood. The three corpses had completely turned into withered bones; their flesh had been gnawed away, leaving only ghastly white skeletons and bloodstains all over the ground. The previously magnificent and intricate wedding attire was now torn to shreds, with fabric scattered everywhere.

But the dense swarms of ghostly shadows from before had vanished, leaving only a paper sedan chair and that tall, golden-bodied Paper Person in the courtyard.

No, perhaps it could no longer be called a Paper Person now.

It already had the outline of a human, with a tall stature and well-proportioned limbs. Its surface was no longer smooth paper, but had developed textures resembling skin, while still shimmering with flashes of golden light.

But what was eerie was that its face remained perpetually blurred, as if separated by a thick mist. No matter how hard one tried to focus, one could only see a hazy void.

The Ghostly Creature stepped out, and as it moved, the mist surrounding its body rippled along with it.

"However... even if you broke the Ghost Wall, so what? Do you think you can escape alive just like this?"

Liu Ziming took a step back and reminded them in a low voice, his tone trembling slightly.

"Those remnant souls... are all gone. I'm afraid they've all been eaten by it..."

Chen Mu's heart sank, and his right hand was already pressed against the hilt of his sword.

This monster had devoured so many ghosts; its strength had likely reached a terrifying level and could not be underestimated.

"Since you have come, don't even think about leaving!"

Before the words faded, the Ghostly Creature's figure suddenly flickered and drifted over like a phantom, its speed astonishingly fast, nearly on par with Chen Mu's Divine Void Step!

"Attack!"

Qi Huan roared and attacked first. His palms crossed, and the red light in his palms instantly transformed into two flaming afterimages. He unleashed a Move, the Kunlun Blazing Palm, striking toward the Ghostly Creature's head with the force of wind and thunder.

Chen Mu instantly activated the Divine Void Step beneath his feet, his figure splitting into three to confuse the enemy. At the same time, he drew his long sword and unleashed the Heaven-Slaying Sword Drawing Technique, the Sword Qi transforming into a cold beam of light that thrust directly at the Ghostly Creature's heart!

Liu Ziming also gritted his teeth and drew his saber. Although his leg had not yet fully healed, this was a life-or-death moment, so he disregarded everything else. Enduring the pain, he poured his full strength into a Shura Saber strike, hacking fiercely toward the Ghostly Creature's lower body!

The three of them joined forces, their attacks swift and fierce. With tacit coordination, they assaulted from different angles, almost sealing off all the Ghostly Creature's escape routes.

Yet the Ghostly Creature did not dodge or parry, letting the Blazing Palm, the Heaven-Slaying Sword, and the Shura Saber land on its body.

However—

The Blazing Palm passed through the mist, finding no point of impact.

The sword blade pierced through the Ghostly Creature's body as if it were passing through empty air.

The Shura Saber slashed through nothingness.

"What?"

Liu Ziming exclaimed in shock, unable to pull back his attack in time, and stumbled, nearly falling over.

Chen Mu was shaken; the sword thrusting into empty air caused his arm a wave of discomfort, and he hurriedly retracted the sword and retreated.

The Ghostly Creature's body was actually like an illusion; their Moves had hit the air meaninglessly, causing no damage whatsoever.

The opponent's hazy figure hadn't even flickered once!

"Able to be both intangible and tangible?" Qi Huan's expression changed drastically at once.

"Hehehe... is that all the ability you have?"

The Ghostly Creature emitted a cold, sinister laugh, and before the words had finished, its body was already in motion!

Its previously intangible body suddenly solidified. A pale arm reached out from the mist, five fingers curled into claws, the fingertips sharp as knives, striking directly at the closest person, Qi Huan!

This strike came as fast as lightning, and the shift between intangible and tangible had no warning.

Qi Huan had just retracted his Move; his previous momentum was spent, and his new strength had not yet arisen, so he had no time to dodge.

"Puchi!"

The ghost claw raked across Qi Huan's chest, instantly tearing his robes. His skin split and flesh tore, leaving five wounds deep enough to see bone on his chest, and blood immediately spurted out!

"Urgh!"

Qi Huan let out a muffled groan and retreated several steps, his face instantly turning deathly pale; he was clearly severely injured.

Chen Mu was shocked. This Ghostly Creature could be both intangible and tangible; when intangible, it was immune to attacks, and when tangible, it could cause damage. Such an opponent was practically invincible. How was he to deal with this?

While he was still contemplating, the Ghostly Creature, having gained the upper hand, did not let up. Its figure turned intangible again, this time lunging straight at Chen Mu.

Fortunately, Chen Mu had the previous lesson in mind. He instantly activated the Divine Void Step, his figure splitting into three, and he darted rapidly in three different directions.

But the Ghostly Creature seemed able to see through the illusions; ignoring the others, it lunged straight at Chen Mu's true body, one claw reaching directly for his heart!
