250: Eleven Realms of the Netherworld

The entire world saw no trace of the sun; only nine blood-red full moons hung high overhead, their eerie appearance sending shivers down one's spine.

Xu Qing hovered in mid-air, his gaze like a torch, looking down. As far as his sight reached, there were only strange trees shaped like willows but with bizarre appearances. Their leaves were scarlet like blood, their branches like ferocious ghostly hands, and they bore many scarlet fruits, like the eyes of demons!

Looking further into the distance, bizarre mountain ranges snaked like colossal Dragons, stretching before him. Among the mountains, many figures with surging Yin Qi crisscrossed like ghosts.

Additionally, a wide river, eight hundred li across, surged like a raging Dragon, roaring through the mountains and rushing towards the distance. The river water was a nauseating bloody-yellow, and pale skeletons floated in the river, carried downstream by the current.

“Wuwuwu!”

“Huhuhuhu!”

Gusts of Yin wind howled like angry ghosts and cried like resentful spirits, piercing the ears and sending chills down one's spine!

“Is this the Netherworld?!”

Indeed, Xu Qing had arrived at the Netherworld, the legendary backside world of the Eternal Continent. Here lived the Nether Race, a race capable of ranking among the top ten of all the Myriad Races in the heavens!

It was also the place where the Souls of all things in heaven and earth went after their demise.

The entire Netherworld's area could rival that of the Eternal Realm. In fact, during the Ancient Heavenly Court era, there was a legend that the Underworld once used the Nether Yellow Springs to connect the entire Eternal Dao Realm, guiding many Souls to this place!

However, after a great war, everything from that era had long been buried by time, and no one could ascertain if the rumors were true.

But Xu Qing knew it was true. From the System's fragmented words, he inferred that the Underworld was an ancient force no weaker than the Heavenly Court.

If the Eternal Dao Realm was viewed as two sides of Yin and Yang, then the Yang side was governed by the Heavenly Court, and the Yin side was managed by the Underworld!

During the Era of Heaven Destruction, when the Heavenly Court was attacked by the Myriad Races, the Underworld was also attacked. Since then, Reincarnation in the human world was no longer governed by the Underworld, to the extent that even Divine Venerables could use means to undergo Rebirth, and even more so for giants above the Saint Realm. As long as all conditions were met, they could be reborn into their own Family through Reincarnation.

As a result, the current Netherworld was full of aggression, constantly launching wars, seeking to rule the Eternal Dao Realm and transform it into a true Nether Dao World.

The entire Netherworld is divided into eleven Ghost Realms, each separated by the Nether Yellow Springs, with the smallest area no smaller than an Endless Continent!

The central Ghost Realm is even comparable to an Eternal Continent, and its name is the Fengdu Netherworld. The two strongest forces in the Netherworld, the Nether Palace and the Yellow Springs Hall, are located here!

There are also eight directional Ghost Realms: the Mirror of Karma Ghost Realm to the west, the Netherfire Ghost Realm to the south, the Five Turbid Ghost Realm to the east, the Minghan Ghost Realm to the north, the Nostalgic Ghost Realm to the northeast, the Abi Ghost Realm to the southwest, the Naihe Ghost Realm to the northwest, and the Other Shore Ghost Realm to the southeast.

Beyond the southeast, there is also a Reincarnation Realm, and beyond the west, there is the Abyssal Realm.

It is said that during the Underworld's rule, after all spirits died, they entered through the Five Turbid Ghost Realm, went to the Mirror of Karma Ghost Realm to judge their good and evil deeds in Life, and then entered the Fengdu Netherworld for judgment.

The good went to the Nostalgic Ghost Realm to see their relatives and friends for the last time, then walked through the Naihe Ghost Realm to erase all memories, and passed through the Reincarnation Realm to be reborn. The families they were born into were either rich and noble, or powerful clans and hegemonic sects.

Those who were neither good nor evil went to the Other Shore Ghost Realm, born into poor families!

The wicked went to the Netherfire and Minghan Ghost Realms to be punished. Upon the Perfection of their sentence, they went to Naihe, then to the Other Shore Ghost Realm to be reborn as animals; the extremely wicked and malevolent went to the Abi Ghost Realm to endure indefinite torture until their Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering!

And this Abyssal Realm is the land of the 108 abysses, the native inhabitants of the Netherworld born at the beginning of creation.

During the Underworld period, some races accepted the Underworld's rule and were highly valued. This included A Hui's race, the Infinite Hell Ox-Human Race, who served as ghost messengers; while others resisted the Underworld, were suppressed, and banished to the Abyssal Realm!
