16: Chapter 16 Rebirth: I'm the Boss of the Dorm
Jiang Mingyue walked slowly into the villa, her calm gaze sweeping over the interior furnishings.
"A four-person dorm... but the conditions are decent enough. As expected of the highest academy in the Human Race's Ancestral Land."
Deep within her eyes, a flicker of determination and sharpness shone, completely at odds with her delicate appearance.
"Living another life... this time, I, Jiang Mingyue, will definitely change the fate of the Human Race!"
She made a silent vow in her heart.
A thousand years from now, the Human Race would face its darkest hour. Besieged by ten thousand races, Saints would fall in battle, and civilization would nearly be severed.
And she was the last Bright Moon Martial Saint to perish in that catastrophe.
By some unknown stroke of luck, her soul had reversed time and space, returning to a thousand years prior.
Jiang Mingyue knew all too well that if everything followed its original course, they would only repeat the same tragedy.
She recalled some old secrets and rumors from her past life. The Ancestral Star, the birthplace of the Human Race, might hide an opportunity to change the future.
And so, she had come.
"Dammit! If I had been reborn even a month earlier, I could have passed the normal assessment to become an official student. I wouldn't have needed to enter through this damn librarian channel and live with a bunch of stinky men!"
She couldn't help but feel a bit helpless.
Although the dorms were individual rooms, living under the same roof was bound to be somewhat inconvenient.
As she was lost in thought, her brow furrowed slightly.
Two pairs of eyes, accompanied by "hehe" giggles, were staring at her without concealment.
One was as fat as a ball, the other as thin as a hemp stalk.
"Great, it's Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix."
Jiang Mingyue thought to herself.
Immediately, she felt that the way those two were looking at her was a bit off, and an inexplicable chill washed over her.
"What's with those looks? They couldn't be... from Brokeback Mountain, could they?"
Because of her special cultivation physique and the use of a supreme treasure to mask her true gender, her current appearance was male, yet she appeared excessively delicate and handsome.
Perhaps she happened to suit the tastes of certain people with special preferences.
The mere thought made her feel uncomfortable all over.
Jiang Mingyue decided to ignore the two of them. Without a word, she prepared to head upstairs to choose a room.
"Hey! Wait!"
The fat one, Lu Sheng, blocked her path with a beaming smile.
"Brother, I am Lu Sheng, and this is Zhou Qi."
"Might we ask for your honorable name?"
"Jiang Yueming," she replied, reversing the order of the characters in her name.
The two appeared very friendly, presenting the prepared Dried Heavenly Silver Fish and Flame Dragon Tangerines.
Seeing this, Jiang Mingyue couldn't help but be a bit surprised, and the coldness on her face softened slightly.
It seemed these two guys had some background after all.
She had just been reborn and her foundation was shallow; she was in need of resources.
"I'll consider this a favor. If there's a chance in the future, this Saint will take you to the top," she thought.
But immediately, her expression turned cold again.
She heard the skinny one, Zhou Qi, say with a grin, "Everyone's finally here. Brother Jiang, our Boss is still inside cultivating. In a bit, come with us to pay your respects to the Boss."
Good heavens!
So The map of Yan was this short!
They gave me these scraps just because they wanted to recruit me as a lackey?
Jiang Mingyue was so angry she laughed.
To think that she, the dignified reborn Bright Moon Martial Saint, the one destined to lead the Human Race to glory, was expected to be someone's lackey?
What kind of interstellar joke was this!
"Boring."
She curled her lip in disdain.
She came here to race against time to become stronger; she had no time to play childish games like "paying respects to the boss" with these two.
If you two want to be someone's lapdogs, I certainly don't.
Ignoring them, she walked straight toward the second floor.
"The room by the window upstairs—I'm taking it," she said, her voice cold and devoid of emotion.
Zhou Qi was dumbfounded on the spot.
What the hell?
How is this kid so oblivious to how things work!
If they couldn't even handle a newcomer, wouldn't he and the fat guy look useless when the Boss came out?
With a flash of movement, Lu Sheng blocked the stairs.
"Brother Jiang, that room belongs to the Boss."
Jiang Mingyue's gaze instantly became dangerous.
"What? You want to fight?"
With her Martial Saint's insight, she saw through the two in front of her at a glance; they were just rookies who had recently broken through to the Transcendent Realm.
The Transcendent Realm was divided into Human, Earth, and Heaven ranks. These two were, at most, at the level of Human-rank warriors.
As for herself, although she had just restarted her cultivation, her Qi and Blood strength had already reached five million jin. Her foundation was far more robust than anyone could imagine.
Coupled with her Martial Saint-level experience, challenging those above her level was not a problem at all.
Lu Sheng chuckled and struck what he thought was a dashing pose.
"Brother Jiang, don't misunderstand. There's no order without rules. How about this: I won't bully you. I'll suppress my cultivation to the Qi and Blood Realm and exchange a few moves with you. If you lose, you'll settle in as the fourth brother of the dorm. How about it?"
His limit in the Qi and Blood Realm was three million jin.
Don't think this number was weak. In the outside world, this was enough to be hailed as a genius with the potential of a Martial Emperor, or even a Martial Sovereign with the right opportunities!
However, as soon as he finished speaking...
He immediately let out a strange cry.
"No martial honor! A sneak attack!"
Lu Sheng saw a large backpack flying straight toward his face!
At the same time, a sharp leg shadow had already swept in front of him!
Jiang Mingyue sneered.
She was determined to establish her authority today to prevent these two from bothering her in the future.
Her Qi and Blood roared, and the faint phantom of a cold bright moon flashed behind her. She threw a punch of terrifying power!
Lu Sheng's expression changed drastically. He no longer dared to show the slightest contempt and hurriedly used his family's secret technique, the Galaxy Fist, to defend.
But the moment they clashed, he felt the pressure max out instantly, and cold sweat poured down his forehead.
"Holy crap! A tough one! Old Zhou, help me! Quickly suppress this rogue!"
Zhou Qi, who had been watching with his arms crossed, also grew serious.
"Fine! This pretty boy attacked first, so don't blame us brothers for teaming up!"
He shouted and joined the fray.
However, the two were still somewhat honorable and kept their promise, strictly suppressing their cultivation to the Qi and Blood Realm.
But the more they fought, the more shocked and frustrated they became.
This seemingly delicate and weak pretty boy was ridiculously strong!
Every punch and kick contained explosive power, and his combat experience and techniques were incredibly seasoned!
Underestimated!
Severely underestimated!
This was definitely a peerless Prodigy hidden away by some superpower!
If they had known, they wouldn't have bragged about suppressing their cultivation!
The two felt immense regret in their hearts.
But they didn't release the suppression.
Real men keep their word.
Jiang Mingyue chuckled inwardly.
"These two are actually quite honorable; their character isn't bad."
"However, if you want to be my boss, you're far from qualified!"
Without even using her full strength, she had already taken complete control of the battle.
Bang!
Lu Sheng was sent flying by a punch, drawing a graceful parabola in the air.
Bang!
Zhou Qi followed immediately after, struck by a whip kick, following in his companion's footsteps.
Jiang Mingyue calmly brushed off non-existent dust from her sleeve, her eyes full of disdain.
"That's it?"
Ning Yuan had just stepped out of the cultivation room when he saw two familiar black shadows land precisely by his feet on either side.
The two lay on the ground, grimacing in pain. Seeing Ning Yuan, they forced a smile that looked worse than crying.
"Boss..."
Then, a cold and slightly arrogant voice came from the stairs.
"From today on, I'm the one in charge of this dorm."
Ning Yuan raised an eyebrow and smiled.
Interesting.
Trying to snatch the Boss position as soon as they arrive?
That won't do.
I'm still counting on this position to milk the system for all it's worth!
