73: Do my repairmanship?
Shen Yueling leaned in Yu Heng's arms for an unknown amount of time.
Her face was pressed against his chest, where she could hear his steady heartbeat.
She actually didn't want to move; the heat from the hand on her waist made her legs feel a bit weak.
But Qin Ya was still livestreaming upstairs and might come down at any moment.
Moreover... though she had just showered, her lips were feeling a bit sticky again.
If they hugged for much longer, she was afraid she wouldn't be able to refuse him.
"That's enough." Shen Yueling gave his shoulder a nudge. "I'm going back. You should head over to the small plaza and check things out too."
Yu Heng didn't let go immediately. Instead, he tightened his arms for one last squeeze before slowly releasing her... By the time Shen Yueling returned to the dormitory, her other two roommates were out.
She took off her coat and changed into her pajamas.
Subconsciously, she touched her collarbone.
There was still a mark there from where Yu Heng had bitten herβit wasn't deep, but she could feel it.
Shen Yueling looked in the mirror for a few seconds, then turned and climbed into bed.
She pulled the quilt up to her chest and took out her phone.
On WeChat, Ning Yutong had sent a message an hour ago: "Yue Ling, are you back at the dorm?"
Ning Yutong had been waiting ever since she sent that message.
She knew messaging Shen Yueling like this was a bit obvious, but she just couldn't help herself.
They had been together for so long, what on earth were they doing?
Shen Yueling typed a reply: "Just got back."
The response from the other side was almost instantaneous: "Finished dinner with Yu Heng?"
Shen Yueling looked at the sentence, her fingers pausing for a moment.
She knew exactly what Ning Yutong was really trying to ask.
"Yeah," Shen Yueling replied with a simple word.
"That's good~" Ning Yutong sent an emoji of a kitten spinning in circles. "Then get some rest. I'm getting ready to pack up the stall here too."
Shen Yueling stared at the screen and ultimately decided to ask one more thing: "How are things going on your end?"
"Pretty good! We've collected over fifty registration forms!" Ning Yutong's reply came quickly. "Yu Heng just got back; he's asking about the situation now."
He's already back?
Shen Yueling calculated the time. It only took about twenty minutes to walk from the Villa back to the dorm.
It seemed he had headed straight back to the booth the moment she left.
"Mhm." She replied with another single word, locked her screen, and tossed the phone aside.
Closing her eyes, Shen Yueling rolled over and buried her face in her pillow.
She really did miss him.
And it wasn't just a psychological longing.
At the same time, in front of the club recruitment booth.
When Yu Heng returned, Hao Junran was squatting by the roadside smoking a cigarette.
"Yo, you're back?" Hao Junran looked up at him with a meaningful smile. "That was fast."
"Beat it." Yu Heng gave him a light kick. "Packing up?"
"Waiting for you." Hao Junran stubbed out his cigarette, stood up, and patted his pants. "Ning Yutong and Bai Xinran went to the restroom, I think. Liu Tianqi and Hou Xudong are clearing the tables."
Yu Heng glanced at the booth; it was indeed mostly packed up.
"How were the results today?" he asked.
"Totally awesome." Hao Junran pulled a stack of registration forms from his pocket and waved them. "Guess how many we got?"
"How many?"
"Fifty-three." Hao Junran grinned. "And most of them are girls. A few of them are real lookers too."
As they were talking, Ning Yutong and Bai Xinran returned.
Ning Yutong was carrying two cups of milk tea. Her steps faltered when she saw Yu Heng. "Yu Heng, you're back? Are you finished with your business?"
"Yeah," Yu Heng replied, his gaze sweeping over her face.
Her smile was the same as always, but the light in her eyes had dimmed a bit.
"For you." Ning Yutong handed him a cup of milk tea.
Yu Heng took it. His fingertips brushed against her hand; it was cold.
"Thanks," he said.
Ning Yutong was actually still quite bothered. Did they really need that long just to eat?
Although she had known for a long time that they were childhood friends and very close.
But back then, they were all in the same class and saw each other every day; it hadn't seemed like anything special.
Things were different now that they were in university. Especially after hearing Yu Heng say they had watched 'that kind' of movie together, she was even more concerned.
They haven't already done 'it', have they?
Bai Xinran stood to the side, silent, only giving Yu Heng a glance.
There was no emotion in that look; she was observing.
Liu Tianqi and Hou Xudong stacked the last few chairs and brushed the dust off their hands. "Done."
Yu Heng checked the time; it was 4:20 PM.
"Let's call it a day," he said. "We'll continue at 2:00 PM tomorrow, same place."
"Got it." Hao Junran stretched. "Then we're heading out?"
"Yeah," Yu Heng nodded. "Good work."
Hao Junran and the others left with their arms around each other's shoulders.
Ning Yutong stood where she was, hesitated for a moment, and said softly, "Then I'll head back to the dorm too."
"Shall I walk you back?" Yu Heng asked.
"No need." Ning Yutong smiled. "It's not far. I can go back by myself."
After saying that, she turned and walked toward the girls' dormitory.
After a few steps, she looked back at Yu Heng once more before quickening her pace.
She definitely wanted Yu Heng to walk her back, but she was also afraid that if they were alone, she wouldn't be able to stop herself from asking.
If she asked, he might notice her feelings, and she still wouldn't get any answers.
That would be way too embarrassing!
Yu Heng clicked his tongue inwardly as he watched her retreating figure.
This girl wears her heart on her sleeve.
"What are you looking at?" Bai Xinran's voice came from beside him.
Yu Heng withdrew his gaze. "Nothing."
Bai Xinran didn't follow up, merely unscrewing the half-bottle of mineral water in her hand and taking a sip.
"Are you going back to the Villa?" Yu Heng asked.
"Yeah." Bai Xinran screwed the cap back on. "It's almost time to livestream."
"Walk together?"
"Sure."
The two of them walked side by side toward the campus exit.
Bai Xinran tucked her hands into her down jacket pockets, her pace moderate, keeping exactly half a step behind Yu Heng.
Yu Heng glanced at her sideways.
This girl was being exceptionally quiet today.
While she was never talkative, her silence today was a bit unusual.
"Tired?" Yu Heng asked.
"I'm alright," Bai Xinran said, her eyes fixed on the road ahead. "My waist is just a bit sore from standing all day."
"Want me to give you a massage when we get back?"
Bai Xinran's pace faltered slightly as she shot him a look. "No thanks."
"It's free."
"I'm even more afraid of 'free' things." Bai Xinran curled her lip. "Who knows what other fees you'll try to collect."
Yu Heng laughed. "Am I that kind of person?"
"You are," Bai Xinran said decisively.
They walked for another stretch.
As they neared the entrance to the Villa area, Bai Xinran suddenly spoke up: "It seems like both Ning Yutong and Shen Yueling like you."
Yu Heng raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
Bai Xinran didn't look back, her gaze still fixed ahead.
"Is it that obvious?" Yu Heng asked with a smile.
"Very obvious," Bai Xinran said.
Yu Heng slowed his pace. "Do you care?"
"I don't care." Bai Xinran turned her head. "It's not like I want to date you."
Yu Heng was a very strange person.
He was so frank it bordered on shameless, making no effort to hide his desires or plans.
Whether it was making money through the club or maneuvering between several girls.
He had a peculiar honesty; he didn't want to waste effort on emotions, yet he wasn't purely playing with people either.
Yu Heng looked at her, eyes narrowing as he smiled. "Then what do you want? To be my dog?"
