133: Chapter 133 The Little Chef's Heart Returns

Hearing all this, Tang Jingyi felt the world spinning around her. Her head throbbed with dizziness; had Ning Yuan not been there to support her, she would have fainted long ago to escape this unbearable reality.

She had always believed her father died in an accident, never imagining there was such a hidden truth behind it, and such a cruel one at that.

"Wuwuwu..."

Soon after, a wave of immense grief surged into her heart. No longer able to suppress her emotions, she reached out and hugged Ning Yuan's waist, unable to stop herself from wailing loudly.

Ning Yuan thoughtfully pulled her into his embrace, providing ample comfort. His hands remained proper, not wandering anywhere they shouldn't; Ning Yuan still maintained that much principle.

Next, it was time to deal with certain people!

He had to resolve this quickly while Tang Jingyi was consumed by grief, lest she find herself unable to strike.

Previously, she had asked him to show mercy and not kill the Tang Family members who had attacked.

Faced with the debt of a murdered father, she might not necessarily be soft-hearted anymore, but it would likely still be hard for her to act. Thus, he would take on the role of the villain himself.

Ning Yuan looked up and cast his gaze toward Tang Shao. Under the man's terrified expression, he directly activated the Fire of Divine Sense, sending Tang Shao on his way!

Thud!

Tang Shao's corpse fell straight to the ground with a muffled thud, startling everyone around them. Yet, no one dared to voice the slightest objection.

"Spare—"

The City Lord of Xiangye was even more scared out of his wits. He hurriedly tried to beg for mercy, but after uttering only a single word, Tao Yao shattered his life force, and he died instantly!

With that, the two culprits who conspired to murder the Tang Family Head were dealt with!

In fact, before entering the Tang Family residence, Tao Yao had discovered the City Lord of Xiangye's presence, and the conversation between him and Tang Shao had been rather intriguing.

So Tao Yao had interrogated him, learning the truth of the matter from his mouth, leading to the scene that followed.

One had conspired with an outsider to murder his own elder brother for the position of Family Head!

The other did it to ensure his own status remained unthreatened, and for the conditions Tang Shao had offered!

Thus, the two had hit it off immediately!

If Tang Jingyi hadn't met Ning Yuan, she probably would have been kept in the dark her entire life, never knowing the truth of what happened.

Ning Yuan leaned close to Tang Jingyi's ear and whispered, "The matter is settled. You must keep your word! Otherwise, I'll have made this trip for nothing!"

"Mhm!"

Tang Jingyi's emotions, which had just begun to subside, rippled again because of Ning Yuan's words. However, she didn't argue and only responded with a soft hum.

Although she hadn't seen what Ning Yuan just did with her own eyes, she wasn't a fool. She naturally knew he had acted personally because he didn't want things to be difficult for her.

She indeed would have found it very difficult; she couldn't bring herself to be so heartless!

Ning Yuan's actions conveniently spared her from that difficulty and gave her an excuse!

She felt much better in her heart!

"What about the others?" Ning Yuan asked quietly.

The 'others' here naturally referred to the surrounding members of the Tang Family. They had intended to attack Tang Jingyi, so they wouldn't be let off so easily.

Tang Jingyi understood his meaning. After a moment of silence, she pointed out several Tang Family members to Ning Yuan; these were all people who had followed Tang Shao to hunt her down.

Though they were fellow Tang Family members, they weren't close to one another, so Tang Jingyi felt no burden in her heart regarding them.

As for the rest, she let them be. She was a member of the Tang Family herself and couldn't possibly kill them all.

Since it was Tang Jingyi's decision, Ning Yuan naturally wouldn't judge. He only needed to act according to her wishes.

Subsequently, Ning Yuan eliminated the people who had hunted Tang Jingyi one by one. This left the others trembling with fear, terrified that they would be next.

When it was over, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, while also realizing why those people had died.

Those who survived were secretly rejoicing that they hadn't participated in the hunt back then; otherwise, where would their lives be today!

"Alright, if there's something you need to take, go quickly! We're leaving once you've got it!"

"Mhm!"

Then, Tang Jingyi left Ning Yuan's embrace with slightly flushed cheeks. She walked quickly to Tang Shao's corpse to search it, soon pulling out a command medallion. Once she had it, she hurried off in a certain direction.

Looking at the direction Tang Jingyi had gone, the Tang Family members present all knew what she was going to do, but not a single person spoke up to stop her, allowing her to come and go as she pleased.

Ning Yuan was still watching right here; whoever dared to say a word would be seeking death!

About fifteen minutes later, Tang Jingyi returned to Ning Yuan's side, though her expression was somewhat dejected, as if she hadn't obtained what she wanted.

"You didn't get the Legacy?" Ning Yuan asked.

Tang Jingyi said in a low voice, "I got it, but it only goes up to becoming a Rank Four Spirit Chef. Everything after that is gone!"

The Tang Family's Rank Six Spirit Chef ancestor lived who knows how many years ago. Many things must have happened in the interim; being able to leave behind a Rank Four Spirit Chef Legacy was already quite good. There was no need to be so demanding!

"It's fine. If there's an opportunity in the future, we'll look for other Legacies!" Ning Yuan took her jade-like hand and comforted her with soft words. Then, after thinking it over, he decided everything was handled and it was time to leave.

"Then let's go!"

Ning Yuan pulled Tang Jingyi's hand and strode toward the entrance. After taking one last look back at the Tang Family, Tang Jingyi turned away without any lingering attachment.

After her father died and Tang Shao began to coerce her, this place was no longer her home, and it never would be again!

Now, she only had the man before her!

Only after seeing them leave did everyone present truly feel at ease. A feeling of having survived a disaster arose spontaneously.

Although not many people died this time—less than twenty in total—the weight of each person who died was not light!

Setting aside Tang Shao and the City Lord of Xiangye, the rest were all pillars of the Tang Family, indispensable existences.

But now they were all dead. The entire Tang Family was left with only three Nascent Souls, and they were only at the Early Stage. How could they maintain a foothold in Xiangye City now!

"Ah, the Tang Family is finished!"

Suddenly, a miserable cry rang out. Everyone was startled and hurried to look toward the sound. When they saw the scene before them, they couldn't help but wail in grief.

"Tang Jingyi, you've gone too far! You actually didn't leave us anything at all!"

"How is our Tang Family supposed to survive?"

"Let's go! While no one knows yet, let's get out of here quickly!"

"..."

The empty treasury before them filled everyone with despair. Those items were the hope for a comeback, but now they were all gone.

Quite a few people were preparing to flee. After all, the Tang Family was not without rivals; if people found out, they certainly wouldn't survive.

There were many such people; most chose this path!

The quick-acting ones had already begun to scavenge what little of value remained. If they weren't fast, they wouldn't even get to drink the leftover soup!

Seeing this, the others naturally wouldn't fall behind, and they all fell into a scramble, some even coming to blows.

Once the items were divvied up, everyone fled for their lives!

And so, the Tang Family, with its long-standing Legacy, simply disbanded!

In truth, it wasn't Tang Jingyi who took the items; she only took the Spirit Chef Legacy. It was Ning Yuan who had Tao Yao take them. After all, they couldn't make the trip for nothing and come away with no harvest at all!
