245: Do you know my grandfather?

"Hehe, Erniu, don't be angry. Didn't Grandpa go buy you roast chickens?"

"Come, sit down and eat quickly!"

Seeing Li Erniu's resentful gaze, the white-haired elder looked embarrassed.

He quickly changed the subject, placing ten roast chickens on the stone table in front of Li Erniu and urging him to eat.

The reason he could live so freely now was entirely thanks to his good grandson, Li Erniu, so he couldn't let Li Erniu be unhappy.

Smelling the aroma of the roast chicken, Li Erniu's eyes were filled with emotion.

Although he was now a Cultivator in the Earth Venerable Realm, capable of achieving Bigu and no longer needing to eat such mortal food, this roast chicken was his obsession.

He still remembered that before coming to the Qingtian Sect, he had never smelled the aroma of meat.

Whenever he saw people from his village eating roast chicken, all he could do was drool, so he had a unique affection for roast chicken.

"Erniu, hurry and eat. It won't taste good once it cools down."

Seeing Li Erniu staring blankly at the roast chicken, the white-haired elder quickly reminded him.

"Mhm."

Li Erniu's eyes were moist; he tore off a roast chicken leg and began eating heartily.

"Senior Brother Li, where are you?"

"I've come to see our grandfather!"

While Li Erniu was eating the chicken leg, Han Ri found the location and shouted from outside the small courtyard.

"Junior Brother Han, I'm here. Come in yourself."

Hearing Han Ri's voice, Li Erniu called out towards the outside of the courtyard.

"Hehe, Senior Brother Li, so our grandfather lives here."

Following the sound, Han Ri ran into the courtyard with a beaming smile.

But when he saw the rosy-faced, white-haired elder, he couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

"Elder, why are you here?" Han Ri asked, staring wide-eyed at the white-haired elder beside Li Erniu.

This elder was the same one he had encountered when he left the Jade Maiden Tower.

At the time, he had said they would meet again, but he hadn't expected to run into him so soon.

Seeing Han Ri appear, Li Erniu's grandfather looked utterly embarrassed.

He hadn't expected that a casual pleasantry he made earlier would come true so quickly. This was truly outrageous.

Looking at their strange expressions.

After Li Erniu finished a chicken leg, he asked Han Ri curiously, "What's wrong, Junior Brother Han? Do you know my grandfather?"

His eyes were full of confusion.

Han Ri had gone straight into the Jade Maiden Pavilion after leaving the Qingtian Sect and hadn't seen a portrait of his grandfather, so how could they know each other?

"Haha, no, we don't know each other. It's just that we bumped into each other when Grandfather Li was buying roast chicken."

"I didn't expect to meet for a second time so soon. What fate."

Facing Li Erniu's question.

Han Ri glanced at the roast chickens on the table and casually made up an excuse.

After all, he couldn't very well say he ran into Li Erniu's grandfather at the Jade Maiden Tower; that would completely ruin the elder's reputation.

As a fellow traveler, he felt obligated to help Li Erniu's grandfather out.

"That's right, that's right."

"I ran into this young man just now while buying roast chicken. I didn't realize he was also a Disciple of the Qingtian Sect. It truly is fate."

Seeing that Han Ri didn't expose him, Li Erniu's grandfather gave him a grateful look and chimed in.

"Oh? What a coincidence. You and my grandfather truly have fate together."

Hearing their explanation, Li Erniu looked slightly surprised while eating his roast chicken.

One must know that the current population within Qingtian City is impossible to count; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say there are over a billion people.

For Han Ri to run into his grandfather twice in this vast sea of people was indeed a type of fate.

"Hehe, yes, yes."

Li Erniu's grandfather nodded with a Face full of smiles, picked up a roast chicken from the table, and handed it to Han Ri, saying, "Young man, this old man doesn't have much good stuff to treat you with, so take this roast chicken and eat."

Han Ri took the roast chicken and quickly smiled, "Thank you, Grandfather Li. Roast chicken is my favorite thing to eat too."

After speaking, he also began eating the roast chicken heartily.

Not long after.

The two of them ate the roast chickens on the table until nothing was left.

Looking at the table full of chicken bones, Li Erniu's grandfather happily said, "Erniu, young man, since you both like eating them so much, Grandpa will go buy some more for you."

Having said that, he prepared to walk out of the small courtyard to buy more roast chickens.

"Grandfather, there's no need. I've eaten enough. I only took half a day off from the Sect this time. I need to return to the Sect to Cultivate after spending a little more time with you."

Seeing that his grandfather was really going to buy more roast chickens, Li Erniu quickly stood up to stop him.

Waiting for his grandfather just now took up a good part of the half-day he had requested off. If his grandfather went out again, it would mean he only saw his grandfather for a moment before leaving.

Seeing this, Han Ri pulled Li Erniu's grandfather back and said with a chuckle, "Grandfather Li, don't go. Senior Brother Li came out specifically to keep you company because he thought you might be lonely here alone, not just to eat roast chicken. You two should have a good chat."

"Alright, alright, let's chat, let's chat."

Pulled back by Han Ri, who was at the Human Venerable Peak.

Li Erniu's grandfather also nodded, sat on the stone chair, and began chatting about random things, incidentally mentioning embarrassing stories from Li Erniu's childhood.

Han Ri listened with great interest.

Soon, the half-day limit was almost up.

Li Erniu stood up, took out a Storage Pouch, and handed it to his grandfather, who was still recounting his embarrassing stories, saying, "Grandfather, my time for visiting is up. These are some Spirit Stones and low-grade Medicinal Pills I accumulated in the Sect. Keep them for your use."

He had no use for these items within the Qingtian Sect, so giving them to his grandfather for Cultivation was perfect.

Although his grandfather was Cultivating in Qingtian City where Spiritual Qi was abundant, he was old and certainly couldn't compare to younger people. Having these Spirit Stones and Medicinal Pills could help him quickly achieve a Breakthrough.

Seeing this, Han Ri also took out a Storage Pouch containing Spirit Stones and handed it to Li Erniu's grandfather. "Grandfather Li, Senior Brother Li and I are like brothers. I didn't bring a gift today, but this is a small token of my appreciation. Please accept it."

He knew that Li Erniu's grandfather had some special hobbies.

Going to those kinds of places definitely required Spirit Stones. As a fellow traveler and a Junior, it was only right for him to offer some support.

"Oh my, oh my!"

"How could I possibly accept this?"

Li Erniu's grandfather's eyes narrowed into slits from smiling.

Although he said he was embarrassed, his hands were not polite; he snatched the Storage Pouches from both of them and put them into his Storage Space.

Ever since the large Families in the city opened those entertainment venues, the Spirit Stones Li Erniu gave him had been decreasing day by day.

Now that both of them were proactively showing filial respect, why would he be modest?

"Hehe!"

"Now I have Spirit Stones to go find Xiao Hua again."

Li Erniu's grandfather was secretly overjoyed.

"Grandfather, how can you accept Junior Brother Han's things? Take them out quickly and return them to Junior Brother Han!"

Seeing his grandfather unceremoniously put away Han Ri's Storage Pouch, Li Erniu quickly shouted.

Although Han Ri offered it voluntarily, his grandfather accepting it immediately was too impolite.

Furthermore, the Spirit Stones he gave were plenty, enough for his grandfather to use for a while. As long as he held out for a bit, he could accumulate more Spirit Stones and Medicinal Pills, so there was absolutely no need to accept things from others.

Seeing the situation, Han Ri quickly interjected, "Senior Brother Li, it's fine. Those are just some Spirit Stones, meant as a token of respect for Grandfather Li. Don't blame him."

"Exactly. The young man is sincere, and I can't reject his kindness."

Li Erniu's grandfather chimed in, grasping his Storage Pouch.

"Grandfather, you..."

Li Erniu still wanted to say something.

Han Ri immediately stepped forward, patted Li Erniu's shoulder, and said, "It's alright, Senior Brother Li. Grandfather Li is alone in the city, and having more Spirit Stones on him is a good thing. Don't be so stubborn."

Seeing Han Ri's sincere expression, Li Erniu knew that if he refused again, he would truly be causing loss of Face.

So, he cupped his fist towards Han Ri politely and said, "Then thank you very much, Junior Brother Han. If you ever need my help in the future, please don't hesitate to ask."

Since he couldn't refuse, he could only use other methods to repay Han Ri's favor, ensuring everyone saved Face.
