30: Chapter 30 An Amazing Discovery on the Moon!

(Congratulations to Chang'e-6 on the successful moon landing, celebrating our great motherland!)

One week later, reports of success came in one after another from the four research institutes of the Institute of Materials Science.

All eight new materials were successfully developed and synthesized. Combined with the other two new materials Su Fan had successfully synthesized a day earlier, all ten materials required for the Type 1 Thermoelectric Alloy were now ready.

Su Fan rubbed his hands in excitement; they were now one step closer to the ignition of Controlled Nuclear Fusion.

This week, he had gone back into hardcore mode. Fortunately, Zhou Xiaoxiao was worried about his health and bought him many supplements; otherwise, he really wouldn't have been able to hold out.

Having not exercised for years, he was so weak that he was out of breath just climbing to the third floor.

Because he was truly exhausted, Su Fan decided to give all employees of Super God Company a day off.

As soon as the notice was posted on the official website, countless netizens felt as if they had eaten two pounds of lemons.

So sour!

...

While Su Fan and the others were resting on their day off, a startling discovery on the moon—specifically on the far side of the moon—alarmed the Great Elder of Xia Country!

"What? You're saying a giant spaceship was discovered on the far side of the moon?!" Even though the Great Elder was highly experienced and possessed the composure to remain unfazed even if Mount Tai were to collapse before him, he was still shocked by the news.

"That's right, the news is confirmed. It is definitely a spaceship. These are the photos taken by Yutu-2." Qian Yunzhou, the Minister of Aerospace, held several high-definition photos and excitedly showed them to the Great Elder.

"Let me see!" The Great Elder took the photos and examined them carefully.

It was a spaceship stranded in a rift valley, its entire body as black as ink. It wasn't as massive as a planet like those depicted in sci-fi movies, but it was still as large as a 20-story building lying on its side.

According to the measurements from Yutu-2, this spaceship was 68 meters long, 36 meters wide, and 24 meters high.

(I'll insert illustrations for you once I reach Level 2 author status.)

The Great Elder looked at the pictures of the spaceship intently. His expression shifted from excitement to calm, and then his brow gradually furrowed.

"There is a small hole at this position on the ship. Did you notice it?" The Great Elder pointed at the photo.

Aerospace Minister Qian Yunzhou nodded. "I saw it."

"Through expert observation and calculation, the hole on the ship was clearly caused by an energy weapon attack."

"The direction of the attack seems to have been fired from a giant cave directly in front, which then penetrated the entire hull of the ship."

"Look here, there's another hole here." Qian Yunzhou pointed to a specific spot in one of the photos.

The Great Elder looked closely, and indeed, there was another small hole.

"The printed photos are for portability and reporting, so they are quite small. If you have time, you can come to the Aerospace Department Headquarters. We have high-definition images there, and the visual impact is definitely more shocking than this," Qian Yunzhou said with emotion.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go now!" the Great Elder said decisively.

"Aren't you supposed to meet with the Prime Minister of Japan in a while?"

"It's just Japan; how can that be as important as this? Let them wait!" the Great Elder said imperiously.

"Lead the way!"

...

On the other side, the employees of Super God Company enjoyed a comfortable day of rest and returned to work on time the next day.

Su Fan called the six professors to the fifth-floor conference room.

"After a busy week, the four professors from the Institute of Materials Science and I have successfully completed the synthesis of the precursor materials for the core components of Controlled Nuclear Fusion."

"Next is the development of the core material, the Type 1 Thermoelectric Alloy."

"These are several non-disclosure agreements. Everyone, please sign them!" Su Fan distributed the NDAs to the professors.

They had already signed one when developing the other new materials, but this NDA was of a higher level—it was Top Secret!

Once leaked, it would be equivalent to treason!

The professors did not hesitate and quickly finished signing.

Su Fan called out toward the door, and the conference room door was immediately pushed open. Three fully armed soldiers entered the room carrying a case.

They solemnly placed the NDAs into the case for storage and then took their leave.

That's right, these were military personnel. The NDAs would be kept and enforced by the military.

"Professor Zheng, Professor Wang, Professor Zhang, and Professor Wu—the four of you from the Institute of Materials Science will work with me to research the Type 1 Thermoelectric Alloy."

"The synthesis methods and formulas for the Type 1 Thermoelectric Alloy have been sent to your work phones. Please review them when you have a moment. We will formally begin the synthesis development this afternoon."

Zheng Kaiping and the others nodded in unison. Ignoring the fact that the meeting was still in progress, they couldn't wait to open their phones and check.

"Professor Ma, you and Professor Fu will continue to be responsible for the construction of the new Controlled Nuclear Fusion reactor. Let me know immediately if you encounter any difficulties," Su Fan continued to arrange.

"There is actually one issue I need to report to you," Professor Ma said.

"During the testing after construction was completed, we found that the anti-Neutron Shield Layer cannot completely block all neutrons."

Su Fan's brow furrowed. This was black technology provided by the system; how could it possibly fail to block them?

"Tell me about the construction process and the materials used."

Ma Baoxia then explained the entire construction process in detail and handed the test data to Su Fan for review.

After Su Fan finished listening and reviewed the test data, his frown deepened.

This was illogical!

"Come, let's go to the site and take a look." Su Fan stood up immediately. "Professor Zheng, you don't need to go. Study the data on the thermoelectric alloy first."

Zheng Kaiping and the others responded casually while looking at the materials, continuing to sit there and read intently.

Su Fan wasn't angry about their attitude; instead, he felt admiration for the professors' serious academic dedication.

The reason Xia Country was so powerful was absolutely inseparable from these earnest and responsible scientists!

Su Fan, Ma Baoxia, and Fu Wenzhou left the conference room and drove to the Nanshan Fusion Base in the Southern Mountainous Area of Kirin County, Ningcheng City.

This wasn't Su Fan's first time at the Nanshan Fusion Base, but he had come on the first day of construction last time, and it looked completely different now.

It was an earth-shaking change!

The soldiers at the base entrance saluted and let them through after verifying their identities.

Continuing forward, they could see that a giant cave sloping downwards had been excavated into a small hill within the base.

Su Fan and the others continued into the cave.

Only upon actually walking inside could one truly feel the sheer scale of this cave.

The cave passage was at least 10 meters high and at least 20 meters wide.

The four walls of the cave had been reinforced with steel and concrete and smoothed over, making it very clean.

Continuing inward for about 200 meters, they arrived in a massive underground hall.

There were many people in the hall, but most were soldiers and scholars. Various mechanical equipment roared as they constructed a giant spherical facility.

This spherical facility was the main body of the new Controlled Nuclear Fusion reactor.

Su Fan followed Ma Baoxia to the side of the spherical facility and observed it carefully.

After watching for a while, he asked a nearby doctoral student for a testing instrument and began to run tests.

As someone who had absorbed the complete Deuterium-Deuterium Controlled Nuclear Fusion technology from the system, his knowledge far surpassed that of Professor Ma and the others.

Very quickly, he detected where the problem lay.
