101: Chapter 101 Barbarians

"Although this Medicinal Pill cannot completely cure my injuries, it is enough to allow me to recover most of my strength. I assume that in no more than a hundred years, I will be able to recover on my own... These are eight Spiritual Pearls; please accept them as my token of gratitude."

The elder took out the eight milky-white pearls, which then floated in front of Xiao Yan. She had previously relied on these eight Spiritual Pearls to survive, but now with these two types of Medicinal Pills, she no longer needed them.

The eight pearls emitted a rich Spiritual Qi as they landed in Xiao Yan's palm, the milky-white radiance softly illuminating his face.

Xiao Yan carefully sensed this radiance, a look of unexpected delight appearing in his eyes. Each Spiritual Pearl contained energy comparable to the demonic core of an eighth-rank Demonic Beast.

The energy was extremely gentle, though most of it had drained away, presumably consumed by the clam spirit.

Yet, this remained a rare treasure; keeping it with one for a long time could silently nourish the physical body and Soul.

"The hunyuan bone-sculpting pill, when combined with my activation, can maximize the potency of the medicine. Why don't I treat you now?" Xiao Yan put away his delight, stored the Spiritual Pearls into his storage ring, and said to the elder.

The elder nodded in agreement, and Xiao Yan personally began the treatment.

As the eighth-rank Demonic Beast returned to her clam form, under the illumination of the green radiance, the clam shell gradually recovered, and many of her injuries were alleviated.

However, by the time the medicinal effect was completely exhausted, it had still not been thoroughly cured.

As the radiance faded, the sea clam returned to her human form, though she now looked much younger. Vaguely, one could discern the elegance of the clam spirit in her youth.

"Many thanks, Your Excellency. I injured my Origin during that battle, and in my state at the time, I dared not show myself, which led to it dragging on until now... I will keep this life-saving favor in my heart. If you have any needs in the future, you can call upon me."

Seeing that her body had recovered, the sea clam took out a white jade cylinder and handed it to Xiao Yan, speaking as such.

Xiao Yan took the jade cylinder, nodded slightly, and smiled: "You should just stay here and recuperate. Those eight Spiritual Pearls already exceed the value of those two Medicinal Pills."

"My name is Feng Wu. May I ask for Your Excellency's name?" the clam spirit, who now looked much younger, asked Xiao Yan.

"Hehe, my name is Xiao Yan," Xiao Yan said to the clam spirit named Feng Wu.

"My strength has recovered quite a bit. In a few days, I will return to my former residence. If Your Excellency has time, you are welcome to visit the Ocean Palace in the middle of this ocean." Feng Wu evidently had not heard of Xiao Yan's reputation and simply said to him.

Xiao Yan nodded slightly, accepting Feng Wu's invitation. Hearing the name, Xiao Yan became interested. A palace built in the ocean?

He wondered what it looked like; could it be similar to the Dragon Palace from the movies of his past life?

Associating it with the marriage proposal mentioned earlier, Xiao Yan's expression shifted, and he asked: "What is your Ocean Palace like?"

"Phoenix towers and dragon pavilions, filled with treasures of heaven and earth, it is incomparably magnificent," Feng Wu smiled, seemingly very nostalgic for the Ocean Palace.

"In that case, I must go," Xiao Yan said.

"Then I look forward to Your Excellency's visit," Feng Wu smiled.

Xiao Yan smiled and nodded, bidding farewell to Feng Wu.

There was no rush to do these things until the matters in the Northern Continent were concluded.

Afterward, the Fighting Qi energy in his body surged rapidly, and with a flash, Xiao Yan left the bottom of the ocean trench.

On the seashore, Xun'er rested her chin on her hands, boredly splashing the sea surface with her jade-like feet while waiting for Xiao Yan to return.

On her wrist was a special Soul mark left by Xiao Yan, so she could sense his status at any time and knew he had not encountered any danger.

"Splash!"

A large spray of seawater, illuminated by the sunlight, turned into sparkling, crystalline jade beads that sprinkled onto Xun'er.

"Brother Xiao Yan, you're annoying!" Xun'er giggled when she saw Xiao Yan return safe and sound.

"I've been watching you for a long time, you know. What were you thinking about so intently?" Xiao Yan's mischievous tone reached Xun'er's ears.

"Splash!"

A large amount of seawater was kicked up by Xun'er, splashing towards Xiao Yan.

In this boundless azure sea, the two figures chased and played with each other, not moving very fast, and from time to time, their happy laughter could be heard.

However, after playing for a while, the two set off again, flying rapidly towards the Northern Continent, which might possess the Ten Thousand Beast Spirit Fire.

This journey took longer than the previous one, and without much rest in between, it took a full five days to reach the Great Canyon where the war had broken out.

Before coming, Xiao Yan had made inquiries at several larger tribes. The Ten Thousand Beast Spirit Fire had still not been found, so that Barbarian Beast Great Canyon remained under a tight blockade.

Hidden in space, Xiao Yan and Xun'er quietly watched the massive blood-red barrier before them. The barrier even extended underground, completely enveloping the Great Canyon.

It seemed they intended to turn this location completely upside down.

The first half was being searched by the Barbarian Tribe, and the latter half by the Demonic Beasts; whoever found it first would keep it.

The position Xiao Yan was in was outside the area being searched by the Barbarian Tribe.

These Barbarian tribes worshipped different totems and used different Demonic Beast Souls, so the characteristics of the barbarians in each tribe were extremely distinct.

On the outermost perimeter were some barbarians with brown hair and a pair of short, thick horns. These barbarians held sharp spears in their hands, their eyes filled with ferocity.

Behind these horned barbarians were some massive barbarians who looked absolutely powerful. These massive barbarians had thick fangs protruding from their mouths and carried large hammers. As they walked, the ground shook, and dust billowed beneath their feet.

"These barbarians are certainly strange-looking; it's no wonder the Human Race does not welcome the Barbarian Tribe," Xiao Yan watched, clicking his tongue in wonder, seemingly quite interested in these barbarians.

"The mainstream of the Fighting Qi Continent is to Cultivate Fighting Qi. These barbarians' innate talent is far inferior to our Human Race. Even if they have an advantage in their physical bodies, they cannot stand at the Peak of the continent, so they can only use these special methods," Xun'er said.

Looking at the present, the surviving seven ancient Families alone show that the Human Race is the true Dominator standing on this continent.

Besides the Human Race, there are the Demonic Beasts, though the Demonic Beasts only benefited from the Void Ancient Dragon. If not for Zhu Kun, the Demonic Beasts would not have any noteworthy achievements.

"That is true. These barbarians have poor talent to Cultivate, so they have to find some strange methods to improve their strength. Being neighbors with Demonic Beasts is not a good thing," Xiao Yan nodded and said, feeling understanding towards the barbarians' way of survival.

"Brother Xiao Yan, can you sense the Heavenly Flame?"

They had been here for a while, so Xun'er asked.

"This defensive barrier is a bit strange; even I cannot pass through it without making a sound," Xiao Yan shook his head and said. He could sense that once his Soul Power spread, it would cause the barrier to fluctuate.

"It is rare to see Brother Xiao Yan so cautious," Xun'er said, watching Xiao Yan who had not directly taken action.

Xiao Yan smiled helplessly upon hearing this and said to Xun'er: "These barbarians do not look easy to deal with. If a battle breaks out later, I am afraid it will affect you."
