34: Ambush and killed!
As soon as this was said, the man stopped procrastinating.
As if facing death, he opened the blind box!
Immediately, a stone, appearing to be ubiquitous, appeared before their eyes.
Everyone was indifferent at first, then gasped in surprise!
"It's a hit! It's really a hit!"
"I thought this dog stall owner was a liar, but I didn't expect it to actually be an enlightenment stone fragment?"
"This kid's luck is really good!"
"What good luck? Didn't you hear what the stall owner said? He clearly knows which box contains the enlightenment stone fragment! He's manipulating it in secret!"
"I wanted to choose this blind box several times, but each time he fooled me. I thought there was some other reason, but it turns out this is why!"
"I'm not playing anymore, not playing, it's boring. This stall owner is no good!"
The stall owner, unable to maintain his composure, cursed loudly.
"What are you saying! What are you all saying! I've been running this stall for so many years, honest dealings with young and old alike!!!"
"Your own will was not firm. Not choosing this box means you have no Opportunity with this enlightenment stone fragment!"
Then the enlightenment stone fragment was handed to Shen Li, but that person said,
"Young Master, it's yours."
"Thanks."
Then he put it into his Storage Pouch and walked away.
Following that, Shen Li arrived at the last place of Opportunity!
This was a pet stall... or rather, it could be called that for now.
Most of the pets there looked dispirited, with little Spiritual Qi, just ordinary Sand Fox creatures.
A very small number, however, had violent auras, constantly striking their cages. Fortunately, with the Formation's enhancement, they were unable to escape as they wished.
And the Martial Artist guarding them was, unusually, a Grandmaster Martial Artist.
He didn't bother to greet customers, sitting on a chair, smoking his old pipe, detached and unconcerned.
This was a stark contrast to the lively atmosphere around him.
Shen Li approached, but his gaze fell upon a particularly frail Sand Fox, lying in a corner of a beast cage, its fur yellow, with only the tips of its two ears reddish.
He asked,
"How many Spirit Stones for this one?"
The Grandmaster Martial Artist raised his head, not looking at Shen Li, but at Qiu Ya behind him.
"Such a young Grandmaster Martial Artist is rare."
"I'm in a good mood today, it's a gift for you."
"Ah?"
"What 'ah'? It's a gift for the young Grandmaster Martial Artist behind you, not for you, a little child of the Qi Refining Realm."
Shen Li's heart skipped a beat, but he didn't bother to argue. He took the Sand Fox out of the beast cage. The Sand Fox wasn't afraid of people, but it timidly burrowed into his embrace.
It burrowed very tightly, as if not wanting to expose itself.
Shen Li originally intended to leave, but by some strange impulse, he stopped, took out a carrier pigeon, and said calmly,
"this Young Master does not have the habit of taking things for free. If there's anything, use this method to contact me."
The old man didn't say much or ask anything, he simply frowned casually, tucked it into his embrace, and waved his hand, saying,
"Don't be an eyesore here."
Shen Li didn't invite further trouble and turned to leave.
This time, he didn't leave through the same tunnel, but found another passage and exited the Formation.
By then, the sky was gradually showing hints of dawn. After checking their direction, Shen Li and Qiu Ya began their return journey.
The two of them walked slowly, as if waiting for someone to arrive.
It wasn't until midday that Shen Li spat out a mouthful of sand.
"I ate the enlightenment stone fragment, and this person isn't thinking of retaliating?"
Qiu Ya covered her mouth and chuckled.
"The fishing wasn't successful. Young Master doesn't seem very happy?"
"He's been running this stall for so many years and hasn't been smashed, so he must be very rich. If he were to make a move against us, we'd make a huge profit."
"He's not stupid; he recognized that I am a Grandmaster Martial Artist."
"He's been defrauding people in the black market for so many years, so there must be a Grandmaster Martial Artist behind him."
"Forget it, forget it, why think so much? Let's go home!"
Then Shen Li took out a small bamboo chair from his Storage Pouch.
Qiu Ya helplessly carried it on her back.
"Young Master, this is too impolite."
"Can you bear to see my legs hurt? You are my Protector of the Dao."
"Come up."
The two journeyed far, the sandstorm erasing their tracks.
They headed straight into the distance.
A moment later, two furtive figures emerged from a sand dune, shaking off the hot sand from their bodies.
One of them was immensely relieved.
"Good thing we didn't make a move."
The shop owner, whom he had met once, asked with deference in his eyes,
"Why, Immortal Master?"
The one called Immortal Master was a Loose Cultivator with a pointy nose and monkey-like cheeks. He stroked his beard and said,
"The aura on this person is pure, powerful, and profound. No matter how I look at it, it seems like a Qi Refining Third Layer to Fourth Layer cultivation!"
"Such a person definitely has a strong background and must have cultivated more than one technique. Perhaps he could easily counter my small sand vortex technique."
"Losing one's life for an enlightenment stone fragment is clearly not worth it."
"And didn't you hear, these two were fishing!"
"With all this yellow sand, where would there be fish?"
"Idiot, wasn't I clear enough? They were fishing for us!"
The man suddenly understood, and the two then walked away.
"Master, what should we do now? How can we continue our business?"
"It's fine, I still have a small enlightenment stone fragment here. Just take it."
Under the daylight, the man's expression flickered with surprise.
"Ah? Immortal Master's handiwork is indeed extraordinary!"
"Of course, otherwise, how could I have helped you earn so much money?"
"That makes sense, that makes sense."
"I think so too."
"Who?"
Rip!
Blood flowed out.
"Yu Laoshu... the enlightenment stone you stole, enough for someone to comprehend a 'Great' technique, you must have cut it into pieces? What a waste of heavenly treasures!"
"Speak, where is the item?"
"Let me go, let me go and I'll tell you!"
"Do you want to die quickly, or do you want to be tortured to the point where death is preferable to life?"
"I'll tell, I'll tell, ah ah ah ah ah ah! My thigh!!!!!"
"Tell me!!!!"
Before the words finished, the figure was suddenly filled with panic.
"Who's there?"
Rip!
The clanging blade sliced through the air. The chilling golden light on the blade made this long saber possess a sharpness and hardness different from ordinary weapons!
"Bastard! Do you know who I am?"
The figure said nothing, only continued to slash!
"Damn it, Grandmaster Martial Artist! Who are you!"
Pfft~
"The Luan Xiu Alliance... will not let you go."
The shop owner's corpse, head separated from body, each flew in different directions.
Yu Laoshu, as he was called, upon seeing this situation, not only felt no joy, but rather a feeling of escaping a wolf's den only to enter a tiger's lair.
He then saw that strange yet familiar figure traversing the yellow sand, looking down at him from above.
"You hide well. I've been searching for so long and couldn't find your location."
"Speak, where is the enlightenment stone."
