26: Chapter 26 This is no small workshop!
The reception room on the first floor of Fanmi Technology.
"Three hundred thousand units!!!" Sun Youming couldn't sit still—he absolutely couldn't sit still—and stared at the two people in front of him in disbelief.
With the order suddenly increasing in size, his first reaction wasn't excitement, but rather an involuntary sense of wariness.
There must be a reason for such an anomaly. For a startup, an initial order of one hundred thousand units was already outrageous; now, it had suddenly jumped to three hundred thousand.
This wasn't playing house, where things could be changed on a whim; this required real money to be poured in.
According to his original plan, he just wanted to take on some orders to keep the factory running normally and get through this difficult period; orders from startups were inherently very risky.
But now, such a large order only made him feel a strong sense of wariness.
Custom products couldn't be adapted for other manufacturers. If this company went bankrupt, the products would be stuck in his hands, and the remaining payments wouldn't be collected. Let alone getting through this crisis, it would very likely become the final straw that broke the camel's back.
"Completing the product delivery in three months is indeed a bit tight, but our down payment will be no less than thirty percent. In stages, we will pay sixty percent for the first one hundred and fifty thousand motherboards."
"When will the payment be made?" Sun Youming blurted out.
"At the very least, after the contract is signed."
Li Guoqiang gave Sun Youming a strange look, thought for a moment, and added, "After the contract is signed, we will send technical personnel to assist you to ensure product yield."
Sun Youming calculated in his mind. Often, initial production required upfront capital, and a thirty percent down payment... was quite high. Seeing the sincere expressions on the two men's faces, he felt his resolve wavering.
"You can completely trust in our strength! We won't shortchange you on these few million or ten million." Lei Jun could roughly see what Sun Youming was thinking.
"Alright..." Sun Youming pondered for a moment before finally nodding.
After all, if everything was true, three hundred thousand motherboards, even at the industry's lowest OEM price, would still be a large order worth over thirty million.
The down payment alone would allow the factory to run and begin consuming raw materials. Once the first batch of one hundred and fifty thousand motherboards was delivered, the payments would reach 60% of the contract.
That would mean the factory would be completely revitalized, provided that the company in front of him didn't run into any issues.
Moreover, he had done some homework before coming here. Lei Jun was a well-known figure in the internet circle, and detailed information could be found with a simple online search.
"The market price for motherboard OEM ranges from 110 to 320, fluctuating based on craftsmanship and order volume. We aren't asking for the lowest price because our requirements for craftsmanship are quite strict, and controlling the yield rate also costs money..."
Seeing Sun Youming nod, Li Guoqiang took the opening and said, "Our order volume is large; how about 130?"
"Deal!!!" Sun Youming wasn't a hesitant person. Since he had already made a decision and the price was acceptable—and indeed the market rate—he agreed.
"Did you bring the company seal?" Li Guoqiang and Lei Jun exchanged a glance, communicating with their eyes.
"I did."
"Then let's sign the contract today."
"Alright."
"By the way, Manager Sun, I heard that you've manufactured chargers before? Is that true?" Lei Jun asked with some curiosity as the previous topic concluded.
"Chargers? We don't make them anymore. Do you want us to produce chargers?" Sun Youming was stunned for a moment and revealed a bitter smile. He had lost a lot of money in his previous collaboration with Fukang, and it was precisely because of the chargers that the Fukang Group had targeted him completely.
"Yes!" Lei Jun nodded.
"No problem, leave it to us." Sun Youming didn't pay too much attention to this part.
Negotiations between the two sides were always very fast. Just an hour later, as Sun Youming walked out of the Fanmi office building, he couldn't help but stop and look back at the five-story red brick building.
It looked like a very ordinary rural building, but the order he held in his hand was the real deal...
Once the first payment arrived and the factory was running again, everything felt like a dream; it was truly a bit too easy.
Just then, a phone rang, interrupting Sun Youming's thoughts. He glanced at the caller ID and answered immediately. A voice full of surprise came from the other end.
"Manager Sun, the company account has received a payment of exactly eleven million seven hundred thousand! The remark says it's a thirty percent down payment for the motherboard partnership. What's going on? I've checked all previous contracts... there is no corresponding contract."
"It was just signed..."
"Paid right after signing?"
"I didn't expect it either."
Sun Youming shook his head, feeling a bit moved. Over ten million, just transferred like that... He had originally thought it was a small workshop...
His gains today were too great: a huge order of nearly forty million, plus the additional charger production.
Thinking about this, Sun Youming's steps felt much lighter.
