74: First visit to the Hehuan Sect
Inside the immortal carriage, the strange and ambiguous atmosphere lasted for quite a while.
From beginning to end, Leng Ningshuang kept her eyes tightly shut, as if she had truly entered a state of meditation.
However, her slightly trembling eyelashes still betrayed the lack of calm within her heart.
Meanwhile, Lu Yi and Chu Qianqian continued to "appreciate" her feigned composure with playful gazes.
This tranquility was finally shattered completely by an exclamation from Wu Mingyue:
"Wow! Look over there! So many beautiful palaces! Are we almost there?"
She and Qing'er were almost face-to-face, pressed against the massive crystal spirit window of the immortal carriage, excitedly pointing at the scenery outside.
Hearing this, the others couldn't help but look out the window as well.
They saw the surrounding mountains not far away, shrouded in mist and clouds.
Palaces of various styles and vibrant colors rose and fell, neatly distributed across the different mountain peaks.
Although in terms of grandeur and magnificence, it couldn't compare to the majestic scale of the Primordial Holy Land.
It could still be considered to have quite an impressive Aura, possessing a unique charm of its own.
Chu Qianqian looked at the scene outside, which was both familiar and yet seemed somewhat foreign.
In those charming peach blossom eyes, a flicker of hard-to-detect complex emotion flashed.
She only gave a faint response:
"Mhm, yeah, we're almost there..."
This tone, so plain it was almost indifferent, made Lu Yi, who was beside her, feel a bit puzzled.
Previously in the Xuanwu Kingdom, she hadn't hesitated to bicker with him just to defend the reputation of the Hehuan Sect.
Lu Yi had thought she had a very strong sense of belonging to her Sect.
But now that they had actually returned, her reaction was so indifferent.
Could it be... it was really like the old saying, the closer one gets to home, the more timid one feels?
As if sensing the strange look Lu Yi was giving her.
Chu Qianqian just turned her head to look out the other side of the window, with no intention of explaining further.
The speed of the immortal carriage gradually slowed down.
Soon, it passed through a layer of pale purple barrier and landed smoothly on the Hehuan Sect's Reception Square, which was paved with purple jade.
The arrival of such a magnificent and massive immortal carriage naturally and inevitably attracted the attention of the Hehuan Sect Disciples passing by on the square.
Soon, a female Elder wearing a deacon's robe, who looked quite capable, arrived before the immortal carriage.
She respectfully and quickly approached the immortal carriage, bowed in greeting, and asked in a clear voice:
"May I ask which distinguished guest has graced our Hehuan Sect with their presence?"
Her attitude was extremely respectful.
After all, the immortal carriage before her was built entirely from Ten-Thousand-Year Divine Wood.
The Formations inscribed upon it were even more profound and mysterious; one could tell at a glance that it was definitely not something an ordinary person could produce.
However, what this Reception Elder didn't expect was...
After the immortal carriage's door, smooth as a mirror, slowly slid open.
The first ones to rush out were actually two young girls who looked to be less than twenty years old.
One, wearing a goose-yellow dress, appeared very lively, hopping and skipping as she pulled the other, who seemed slightly introverted and shy.
As soon as she stepped off the immortal carriage, she began to curiously size up the completely different style of this Sect, muttering incessantly:
"Wow! So this is the Hehuan Sect! It looks like it might be much more fun than the State Preceptors Residence!"
The Reception Elder's brain was currently racing.
What was the situation?
Could it be that a hidden super Family from the Heavenly Profound Realm wanted to send their younger generation to the Sect for training and experience?
But... even for learning, they should have gone to the neighboring Yaochi Holy Land, right?
After all, the reputation of their Hehuan Sect in the outside world... she herself was well aware of it.
Could it be they took the wrong path?
Or... were they here to cause trouble?
Just as she was brainstorming and guessing various possibilities.
The others inside the immortal carriage also walked out one after another.
Chu Qianqian, Leng Ningshuang, Lu Yi, and Ling'er appeared in succession.
When the Reception Elder saw her own Saintess among them.
Her hanging heart finally let out a sigh of relief.
Since the Saintess was traveling with them, they presumably weren't here to cause trouble, at the very least.
Then, she heard Lu Yi's self-introduction.
"I am the Saint of the Primordial Holy Land, Lu Yi."
Then, he pointed to the cold and elegant Leng Ningshuang beside him, specifically adding to the introduction:
"This is Leng Ningshuang, the Junior Sister of my Taichu Old Ancestor. By seniority, she is my... Mar-tial... Aunt."
He deliberately emphasized the words "Martial Aunt."
It might not have meant much to others, but how could Leng Ningshuang not know what he meant?
This caused the corner of Leng Ningshuang's mouth to twitch involuntarily, and she gave him a secret glare.
And that Reception Elder, upon hearing the identities of the visitors, was even more shocked.
Ta... Primordial Holy Land?!
And the Saint himself had come?!
That ice beauty beside him was... was actually the Junior Sister of the Taichu Old Ancestor?!
This Reception Elder did not dare to be the slightest bit negligent.
After all, the Primordial Holy Land was a truly top-tier overlord Sect in the entire Heavenly Profound Realm!
And the visitors were a Saint and an Elder with terrifyingly high seniority... If they weren't hosted well and some big trouble was caused, it wasn't something a mere Elder like her could handle!
As if seeing the Reception Elder's excessive tension and panic.
Chu Qianqian took a step forward and spoke calmly:
"That's enough, Elder Liu. There's no need for a formal reception; they are my guests."
She pointed at Lu Yi's group and instructed:
"Just arrange for them to stay in the guest rooms of my Saintess Hall."
Then, she turned her head and looked at Lu Yi with a smile, asking:
"Holy Son Lu, you won't mind if my little Saintess Hall is a bit simple, right?"
Lu Yi spread his hands and indicated:
"It doesn't matter. I'm at your disposal."
The Reception Elder listened to the extremely familiar conversation between the two.
Then she looked at their "flirtatious" manner, and her mind began to race again.
Are they... together?
Could it be... this Holy Son Lu is the "reinforcement" her Saintess brought back?
Oh my! Saintess, you've finally seen the light!
While she was still lost in her wild thoughts, Chu Qianqian stated:
"Elder Liu, you take the Saint and the others over first. I still need to find my Master to discuss important matters."
Then, she gave Lu Yi a wink.
Without further explanation, she directly took flight, heading towards the direction of the tallest Sect Main Hall.
Lu Yi watched her hurriedly departing figure and could only helplessly say to the Reception Elder, who was still dazed on the spot:
"Then... I'll trouble you, Elder Liu."
