21: Chapter 21 A Young Man Who Isn't Arrogant Isn't a True Youth

"If you don't want it, forget it." Teacher Su tossed the money directly to the Mecha Kid.

"Don't be like that." The Mecha Kid caught the flying corrosion crystal with both hands and said bitterly, "Sis, that's not what I meant."

"Who are you calling Sis?" Teacher Su knitted her brows, and once her aura as a commanding woman flared up, it instantly stunned the Mecha Kid.

"I..."

The Mecha Kid scratched his head and was about to leave when he was called back by Yun Zhuo: "Hey, let me ask you something, brother. Does Seventeenth Middle School not have training rooms?"

"Who says we don't? Wait, you're not from our school?"

"I wasn't before, but I am now."

The Mecha Kid looked Yun Zhuo up and down. "A transfer student? Which school were you at before?"

"No. 8 Middle School."

"A liberal arts student? No wonder you said our school doesn't have training rooms. Seventeenth Middle School isn't like No. 8 Middle School. No. 8 Middle School only has one training room that no one uses, whereas we have a total of fifty-six training rooms, but we have to line up to use them. However, our Genius class has priority access."

"By the way, where is your principal's office?"

The Mecha Kid pointed behind Yun Zhuo. "There, just walk straight ahead to the top floor of the second building."

The seventeenth floor.

With an emotionless "Come in!", Yun Zhuo pushed open the door to Ren Honglin's office.

A middle-aged man with graying hair sat behind a large desk.

Sunlight slanting in from the window fell onto the desk, and the rising dust particles formed a Tyndall effect in the light, casting a hazy aura around him.

Yun Zhuo looked him over, feeling that he looked somewhat familiar, as if he had seen him somewhere before.

In the light, Ren Honglin was holding a thermos cup, drinking goji berry tea. Seeing Yun Zhuo and Su Qingyuan enter, he clicked the lid shut and asked, "How is Zhou Libin doing these days?"

"Principal Zhou, he..." Yun Zhuo thought for a moment and said, "He looks alright."

"It's been thirty years. This is the first time he's contacted me on his own initiative, and I didn't expect it to be for a kid like you." Ren Honglin set down his cup, scrutinized Yun Zhuo, and then continued seriously, "Zhou Libin has told me everything about your situation. The problem now is that you are a transfer student, and you'll have to wait at least a month to apply for training resources."

Yun Zhuo was straightforward: "Principal, I don't need the resources. Just give me a Martial Skill for a long spear, and that will be enough."

"Did Old Zhou say something to you?"

"Huh?"

A flash of understanding crossed Ren Honglin's eyes. "Forget it, that guy Old Zhou actually told me the same thing. Those resources are just the icing on the cake for those with good talent. For those without talent, no amount of resources will be of any use."

As he spoke, he took a silicon chip from his desk drawer. "If you're practicing with a spear, the 'Stance Step Flat Spear Style' is the best Martial Skill for building a Foundation. Take it."

"Principal, can I swap it for an Earth Rank one? I heard that you can use spiritual energy with Earth Rank Martial Skills."

"You've already learned the Flat Spear Style?" Ren Honglin frowned. "As far as I know, No. 8 Middle School doesn't have any spear technique teachers."

"I taught myself."

"Self-taught? To what extent?" Ren Honglin put down the chip, his tone deepening. "For a young person, building a solid Foundation is the most important thing. Don't aim too high too soon."

Yun Zhuo's attitude was sincere but persistent: "I know a Foundation is important, but I really have learned this one, and I want to try a higher-level Martial Skill."

A trace of disappointment flashed in Ren Honglin's eyes. Zhou Libin had used up a favor he had saved for thirty years for this kid, and he hadn't expected him to be so eager for quick success. It really wasn't worth it.

He picked up his thermos and took a sip of water. "It's not that the school doesn't have Earth Rank spear techniques, but they can't be wasted on someone who won't strive for success."

"Understood." Yun Zhuo nodded, his gaze sharpening. "Then how can I prove that I am willing to strive? It would be best if it could be quick. The Martial Arts Examination is next month, and I don't have much time."

"Young man, I am doing this for your own good."

"Yeah, I know. My ex-girlfriend said the same thing, and then she made me lose everything."

"You..." Ren Honglin glared at him. He was disrespectful and slippery; that old geezer Zhou Libin had really misjudged him this time.

Thinking this, Ren Honglin's voice turned cold. "You want it to be quick? Fine! We have a few people in our school who know spear techniques. As long as you can beat them, I will give you the Earth Rank spear technique."

"It's a deal. Principal, you can't go back on your word."

The three of them arrived at the sports field.

The teacher who was organizing student training immediately ran over eagerly as soon as he saw the principal. "Principal, why did you come over personally?"

Ren Honglin pointed at Yun Zhuo. "This kid says his spear technique is very powerful, and that mortal rank spear techniques can no longer satisfy him. He wants to learn Earth Rank ones. Take him and test if he has the qualifications."

The teacher caught the displeasure in the principal's tone and immediately understood. "Don't worry, Principal. Leave it to me."

After speaking, he glanced at Yun Zhuo. "Which school are you from?"

"Seventeenth Middle School." Yun Zhuo said calmly.

"Seventeenth Middle School?" The teacher looked him up and down. "How come I've never seen you before?"

"I just transferred here." Yun Zhuo smiled and extended his hand. "Hello, Teacher. My name is Yun Zhuo. 'Yun' for white clouds, 'Zhuo' for excellence. This is our first time meeting, and who knows... it might be our last."

"Who are you cursing?" The teacher slapped his hand away in annoyance.

"Teacher, why are you not humorous at all? Didn't the principal say that as a transfer student I have no resources? I was just thinking that after I get the Martial Skill, I'll just go out and fend for myself."

The teacher subconsciously looked at Ren Honglin, his eyes full of confusion: Letting a student fend for themselves? This didn't seem like the principal's style.

Ren Honglin frowned and waved his hand impatiently. "Alright, hurry up and test him."

The teacher looked at Yun Zhuo. "Follow me."

Upon reaching the group of students who were taking a break, the teacher casually pointed at someone in the crowd. "You there... Ma Xiaofeng, come over here and spar with this kid."

Ma Xiaofeng was not tall, but he was very cool.

Just now, Yun Zhuo had seen everyone resting in the shade of the trees, sitting and standing without any proper posture. Only he was sitting with his arms crossed, sitting so straight and stiff, like a javelin.

Others were in groups of three or five, but he had no one around him, enjoying the shade of a tree all to himself, looking incredibly cool.

He walked up to Yun Zhuo expressionlessly, a hint of disdain showing between his brows. "Teacher Wu, who is he?"

"A newly transferred student." Teacher Wu deliberately raised his voice. "He says his spear technique has already reached the pinnacle, and he specifically came to broaden your horizons."

"Him?" Ma Xiaofeng looked Yun Zhuo up and down and nodded. "Are you very powerful?"

Yun Zhuo shrugged. "Teacher Wu is trying to stir up trouble for me. You believe him? But for someone like you, I can take on ten without a problem."

"You..." Ma Xiaofeng almost lost his composure, then glared at him and said, "Take on ten of me? You'd better mean what you say, otherwise, I'll beat you until you're crawling on the ground looking for your teeth later, so don't cry."

"Wait a second." Yun Zhuo raised his hand to call a stop.

"What? Giving up already?" Ma Xiaofeng raised his eyebrow, the corners of his mouth curling up.

"You've misunderstood." Yun Zhuo smiled and waved his hand. "I heard from Principal Ren that there are quite a few people at Seventeenth Middle School who use spears, so I thought I might as well take them all on at once. That way, after I beat you, I won't waste time if someone else jumps out to challenge me."

"You f*cking..." Ma Xiaofeng's hand was shaking as he pointed at Yun Zhuo. He turned to look at Teacher Wu. "Teacher Wu, can I beat this kid to death?"
