33: Chapter 33 has been provoking me all along.
After a busy day, Master Yue returned home.
Miao Sang was running around the living room full of energy, and upon seeing Yue Yun return, it affectionately rubbed against his calves.
Hearing Miao Sang's meows, Yue Yun's mood improved greatly.
"Today really wore me out!"
Yue Yun took Miao Sang into his arms.
Seeing that it had not only completely digested the dragon blood potion no. 14 but also the low-grade life potion, he couldn't help but feel pleasantly surprised.
"You've digested them quite well."
Yue Yun rubbed Miao Sang's soft belly, and Miao Sang let out a pleasing meow, looking forward to a hearty late-night snack.
"Here, eat this."
Yue Yun took out the petrified heart of the Earth-Shattering Tiger.
Miao Sang greedily approached, reaching out its front paws to hold the petrified heart and gnaw on it; the petrified heart stood no chance against the sharp fangs and was broken into pieces and swallowed.
A flash of surprise crossed Yue Yun's eyes.
Although Miao Sang had a Rock-Eating talent, this was the first time he had seen it eat something rock-like; it was indeed a novel sight.
After finishing the petrified heart, Miao Sang drank another low-grade life potion and wiggled its plump body back to its cat bed.
"Looks like you're full."
Yue Yun muttered as he returned to his bedroom.
A few days passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, only one week remained until the Campus Championship.
The Administration Bureau's surveillance gradually loosened, giving the three bandits hope as they prepared to strike again.
The afterglow of the setting sun fell upon them, making them look gloomy and lifeless.
The Triangle-eyed Youth said coldly, "I didn't expect Yue Yun's eyes weren't blinded; he almost got us caught by the Administration Bureau. We cannot fail this time; we must squeeze his secrets out of him!"
"What do you plan to do?"
The woman asked resentfully.
"This time, we'll make him come to us."
The Triangle-eyed Youth said confidently, "Use your Phantom Spirit Seven-Colored Butterfly to lure him over. We'll wait for him in this abandoned brick factory, and when the time comes, we'll go all out to capture him!"
The middle-aged man felt this was somewhat unreliable.
"What if he reports it to the Administration Bureau?"
Yue Yun was a law-abiding boy; if he encountered any illegal or criminal activity, he really would report it to the Administration Bureau without hesitation.
Facing his doubts, the Triangle-eyed Youth couldn't help but sneer, "Don't worry, someone has already taken care of things for us. He won't be able to get through to the Administration Bureau tonight.
Even his teacher won't be able to come if he calls!"
The Triangle-eyed Youth was naturally full of confidence.
Since en own dared to guarantee it, he must have pulled some strings above; the rest was up to the three of them.
If the three of them still couldn't take down Yue Yun, then their status as Three-Star Beast Tamers would be a complete joke.
The middle-aged man immediately nodded in agreement.
At the end of the day, Yue Yun was just a child; faced with an intricate web of connections, he wouldn't be able to cause much of a stir.
Furthermore, en own's side seemed to be under some pressure, so they had no choice but to take another risk and try to seize Yue Yun. If they failed again, they would withdraw completely and leave no trace.
The Triangle-eyed Youth ordered, "Do it!"
The woman was faintly excited as she summoned the Phantom Spirit Seven-Colored Butterfly and sent it flying toward the red brick house, releasing a skill from a distance to draw Yue Yun's attention.
As expected, Yue Yun noticed the Phantom Spirit Seven-Colored Butterfly.
Without any hesitation, he immediately pulled out his phone to call the Administration Bureau, but he was met with the busy signal of a blocked number.
"What the hell?"
Yue Yun couldn't believe he had actually been blocked.
He decisively called Wu Di: "Brother Wu, those three guys have appeared again, still over at the abandoned brick factory in the west of the city."
Wu Di's expression instantly became serious.
He hadn't expected to receive such heavy news while just hiding in the bathroom to avoid drinking; he sobered up instantly.
"You hide first, I'll be there right away."
He left the bathroom and walked out. Just as he was about to report the emergency, he realized something was wrong. Everyone was gathered around Secretary Yang from the Imperial Capital, drinking; the atmosphere was peaceful, with no sense of urgency.
Years of intuition allowed him to sense something was amiss.
He didn't make a sound and quietly made his way toward the main door.
Secretary Yang noticed him and hurriedly came forward with a drink to exchange pleasantries; it took Wu Di a tremendous amount of effort to break away.
"Not good, I hope he can hold them off!"
Wu Di used the excuse of his wife checking in on him to leave the drinking party.
The moment he stepped out, Wu Di dashed out of the hotel with speed that would leave Usain Bolt in the dust, hailed a random taxi, and rushed toward the west of the city.
It was the same on Pan Xuan's end.
Just as he was about to answer Yue Yun's call, the official surnamed Yan from the Imperial Capital pressed down on his shoulder and said with a beaming smile.
"Teacher Pan, this Yue Yun is your student, right? Someone has already reported his special situation to me, and I have some understanding of your requests, but I'd rather talk to you personally."
Pan Xuan immediately hung up on Yue Yun.
He forced himself to stay clear-headed and looked at Official Yan, speaking earnestly: "Yes, Yue Yun is one of my students.
His E-rank Beast Taming Talent, Blood-Qi Sharing, has undergone a beneficial mutation, so he has chosen to fight by relying on himself rather than a Pet Beast. I would like to explain it to you in detail..."
Pan Xuan spoke incessantly.
Official Yan narrowed his eyes after listening and said suggestively, "Teacher Pan, are you sure it's a mutation of the Beast Taming Talent and not because of some other reasons?"
Pan Xuan's words got stuck in his throat.
Ignoring the confused looks of those around him, he narrowed his eyes and stared at Official Yan, a murderous glint flashing in the depths of his eyes.
Official Yan couldn't help but shiver.
He chuckled awkwardly, trying to brush off the topic: "I was just speculating. Since Teacher Pan has confirmed it, I'm relieved."
Pan Xuan ignored him and continued to stare.
It wasn't until Li Moyun received a message and stood up to leave with a cold face that Pan Xuan withdrew his gaze, as if nothing had happened.
Yue Yun put away his phone with some helplessness.
He looked toward the Phantom Spirit Seven-Colored Butterfly hovering in the sky, various messy thoughts popping into his head, which he then repeatedly dismissed.
He murmured softly, "You've been constantly provoking me!"
The pressure from three Three-Star Beast Tamers was still too great.
If there were only one, he might have tried to go for a kill.
The Old Master withdrew his gaze, not taking the Phantom Spirit Seven-Colored Butterfly seriously at all. He picked up the freshly forged spear and threw it to Yue Yun.
"Take it and see if it feels right in your hand."
The spear stood tall and straight as a ruler, with a cold gleam at the tip of the cold iron spear and a scarlet tassel fluttering in the wind like a blooming flower of blood.
Yue Yun gripped the spear, his heart swelling with heroic pride.
There was no fear in his eyes; he even felt like joking with the Old Master: "Old man, aren't you afraid I'll fail and waste all the effort you've put in lately?"
"You not winning would be the waste of my effort, kid."
The Old Master had complete confidence in Yue Yun.
Yue Yun was slightly stunned.
He realized something and looked the Old Master up and down.
The Old Master just smiled without saying a word.
When he fought against exotic beasts back then, he didn't rely on this flesh-and-blood body, let alone this blacksmithing craft born of interest.
Yue Yun couldn't help but laugh heartily. He summoned Miao Sang and placed it on his head, then shouldered the spear and walked out.
His entire Aura shifted abruptly, as if he had become a different person—grand and majestic, like a hidden dragon in an abyss breaking free from its shackles amidst thunder, henceforth roaming the heavens and earth without restraint.
"What a coincidence, I also want to test my strength!"
