32: Chapter 32 Bah! I'm such a beast!
Swish! Swish!
The steel blade repeatedly cut through the air with a whistling sound.
Another three Spirit-Eating Vine Ape heads fell in response.
Having witnessed it several times already, Su Youwei finally grew accustomed to Lin Mo's terrifying combat power.
The Desolate Ancient Emperor class was truly no joke.
The level 7 Spirit-Eating Vine Apes were no match for Lin Mo at all; even when they activated their skill, Vine Armor Summon, it only took one extra slash to finish them off.
She still hadn't had a chance to attack.
Just as Su Youwei watched Lin Mo step forward to collect the loot, his movements suddenly stopped.
He then looked ahead with some vigilance.
Soon, four figures appeared in front of them.
The four were wearing identical clothing, with a burning flame pattern on their chests.
The four were slightly taken aback when they saw Lin Mo and Su Youwei, surprised by their youthful appearance.
But soon, they noticed the three dead Spirit-Eating Vine Apes.
Their initial surprise was immediately replaced by greed.
Their leader, Xiao Ran, looked at Lin Mo and said coldly, "Where did you two come from? Don't you know that our Skyfire Guild has reserved this area to kill the BOSS today?"
He pointed to the three Spirit-Eating Vine Ape corpses on the ground. "These are our spoils of war. Leave now, and we won't hold you accountable for trespassing in our reserved area!"
Su Youwei subconsciously furrowed her brows.
"These were clearly killed by us! Since when did they become your spoils of war?"
Xiao Ran's gaze swept over their obviously youthful faces.
He then sneered, "Are you kidding me? How could the two of you possibly kill three healthy Spirit-Eating Vine Apes?"
"These three Spirit-Eating Vine Apes were heavily injured by us and fled."
"According to the rules, they are our spoils!"
Su Youwei's expression turned somewhat unpleasant.
Heavily injured and fled? These three Spirit-Eating Vine Apes hadn't had any injuries on them at all just now.
These four were clearly just greedy, using the excuse of a reserved area to try and steal these Spirit-Eating Vine Apes.
Su Youwei wanted to curse at these shameless people.
But then she thought, the Spirit-Eating Vine Ape BOSS should have already reached Tier 1. To be able to reserve the area for clearing, their main members must be experts above Tier 1.
Even these four people were likely already at Tier 9.
The situation became a bit tricky.
Just then, Lin Mo stepped forward and said coldly.
"And what if I don't leave?"
Xiao Ran was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter.
"Not leaving? Then don't blame us for clearing the field according to our reserved area rules!"
Su Youwei bit her lip and said, "This Vine Forest Lair doesn't belong to your Skyfire Guild. Being so domineering, aren't you afraid of being held accountable later?"
Xiao Ran scoffed, "Held accountable? You ignorant bumpkins, have you never heard of our Lin'an City Xiao Family?"
"Lin'an Xiao Family?" Lin Mo blurted out, "Xiao Huohuo?"
"Hmm? You know Young Master Xiao?" Xiao Ran frowned upon hearing the name. "Fine, for the sake of you knowing Young Master Xiao, I won't hold it against you. You can go, but these three Spirit-Eating Vine Apes must stay."
Seeing that Lin Mo was still standing there, unmoving, a trace of impatience appeared on Xiao Ran's face.
"Are you testing my patience?"
Lin Mo shook his head. "As expected, you are all the same trash as Xiao Huohuo."
Xiao Ran finally realized that this person in front of him probably wasn't friends with Xiao Huohuo.
Just as Xiao Ran was about to signal his teammates to attack.
He saw that Lin Mo had already moved.
His figure left afterimages in the air, appearing directly in front of Xiao Ran in almost an instant.
A flash of the blade.
Xiao Ran only felt a pain in his chest.
Looking down, he saw half the blade already embedded in his chest.
The blade was twisted with force.
It directly shattered Xiao Ran's heart.
His original 100% HP was instantly emptied.
He fell heavily to the ground.
Only then did his remaining three teammates suddenly realize.
These two were nowhere near the pushover newbies who had just changed classes.
This terrifying burst speed.
And this damage that could one-shot a Tier 9 captain with a single slash!
They were clearly here to pick a fight!
One of them reacted the fastest and took out a signal flare.
Clearly intending to use this method to directly contact others in the guild.
Whoosh!
The signal flare shot straight into the sky.
However, the next moment.
A Dark Magic Bullet shot out from Su Youwei's staff, accurately hitting the signal flare and forcibly intercepting it.
The remaining three turned pale and opened their mouths, wanting to call for help in the most primitive way.
Unfortunately, Lin Mo had already arrived in front of them.
"Shh!"
Blade flashes followed one after another.
Each slash landed precisely on their necks.
Only three crisp sounds were heard.
The three heads lost their support and rolled around on the ground.
Having already seen blood, Lin Mo was now able to kill again with a calm expression.
He quickly took the valuable items from the four people.
At the same time, he didn't forget to remove the crystal cores from the two Spirit-Eating Vine Apes.
Then he placed the four bodies and the Spirit-Eating Vine Ape corpses together.
Afterward, Lin Mo said to Su Youwei, "Fire one off."
Su Youwei widened her eyes. "Fire one off? What?"
"A Dark Magic Beam, to destroy the evidence," Lin Mo frowned. "What else could it be?"
"Oh, oh, oh... nothing..." Su Youwei buried her head even lower.
She stopped talking and just raised her staff to cast the skill Dark Magic Beam at the corpses.
The Dark Magic Beam came with a corrosive effect.
Against living creatures, the damage might not be that exaggerated.
But these corpses had no means of resistance.
Just one skill left the corpses unrecognizable, and their clothes were completely corroded away.
Lin Mo frowned slightly; this skill wasn't, after all, specifically designed for destroying evidence.
For now, he would just have to make do with this.
However, this was the Vine Forest Lair, so it shouldn't take long for wandering Spirit-Eating Vine Apes to help completely dispose of these corpses.
After cleaning everything up, he took Su Youwei and quickly disappeared from the area.
"Are we going back to the city to change locations now?" Su Youwei followed behind Lin Mo and asked curiously.
"No," Lin Mo shook his head. "The monsters here give a lot of experience, and there are official quests, why would we change?"
"But... the Skyfire Guild..."
Su Youwei was introverted by nature and not good at conflict, so she subconsciously didn't want to cause trouble with others.
"If the Skyfire Guild people want to come, then let them come," Lin Mo sneered.
"At worst, we'll just kill a few more."
He pinched Su Youwei's cheek. "Sometimes, the more you try to avoid, the more they will push their luck."
"For us right now, prioritizing gaining experience points to increase our combat power and level is the primary task."
"Anyone who wants to stop us is an enemy!"
Su Youwei stood there blankly, and only after a long while did she blink her eyes.
She lowered her head and murmured, "Okay... I'll listen to you."
Looking at Su Youwei's obedient appearance, Lin Mo couldn't help but pinch her cheek again.
He used a bit too much force; Lin Mo could even see Su Youwei's cheeks turn slightly red, and a layer of mist even appeared in her eyes.
Oh no...
Lin Mo swallowed his saliva.
Why did he suddenly feel like he wanted to see Su Youwei cry...
Ugh, I really am a beast.
