255: Chapter 255 Deputy Battalion Commander Gu Lie, the Pressure of a Half-Step Martial King

"If you don't want your dogs to die out,"

"then get out here yourself."

The bone-chilling voice, laced with the Protective Aura of a Martial King Realm expert, boomed across the sky above the storm-ravaged Shura Camp.

One second. Two seconds.

The camp, previously rowdy and filled with vicious curses, fell into an eerie silence. The smiles on the faces of those hundreds of brutish soldiers froze instantly.

They looked at Su Chen, then abruptly turned their heads toward the bone throne in the center of the camp.

The next second. "Clatter!"

This group of unruly outlaws shut their mouths with surprising coordination. They quickly retreated to the sides in a uniform motion. Their eyes flashed with deep awe and fanaticism.

In the center of the snowfield, a wide path was cleared, leading straight to the gloomy bone throne.

"Thud!" "Thud!" "Thud!"

A series of incredibly heavy footsteps slowly emerged from the shadows.

With every step, even the hard frozen earth covered in a thick layer of ice trembled slightly. The snow on the ground was shaken into the air.

In the tightly constricted pupils of Jiang Feng and Lin Qinghan, a massive black shadow slowly walked out from the shadows of the bone throne.

It was too massive!

This was simply a moving black iron tower! The person's height reached a terrifying 2.5 meters! Even Jiang Feng, who possessed the Titan Giant Bear Bloodline, was a whole head shorter when standing in front of him!

The giant walked out of the shadows and was completely exposed to the wind and snow. This was the true Soul of the Shura Camp. The murderous Gu Lie!

The moment they saw Gu Lie's appearance, Jiang Feng and Lin Qinghan simultaneously gasped.

In the Far North, the temperature was a constant minus seventy degrees. The fierce wind cut like knives. Yet, Gu Lie was only wearing a thin, tattered sleeveless vest made of exotic beast hide!

His arms, as thick as buckets, and his broad chest were completely exposed to the frozen world.

However, not a single patch of skin was intact.

Gu Lie's upper body was densely covered with hundreds of terrifying, gruesome scars! These scars resembled dark red centipedes, twisted and knotted together.

There were claw marks from being torn apart by high-level exotic beasts. There were deep pits caused by corrosive poisons. And there were even fatal puncture wounds from heavy spiritual energy weapons!

This riddled body didn't look like it belonged to a living person at all. It was simply a living history book of the Far North war, written in blood and bone!

What was even more chilling was Gu Lie's face.

A huge, everted scar slashed from his left forehead all the way to his right chin! It had almost split his entire face in two!

His left eye was a pale, blind socket. Even the eyelid had been sliced off. Only his right eye, filled with red bloodshot veins, remained, emitting a ferocious and violent glare like a hungry wolf.

"Creak... Creak..."

A harsh sound of metal grating rang out.

In his right hand, Gu Lie carried a two-meter-long serrated bone-cleaving saber upside down. The blade dragged across the snow, plowing a deep furrow.

There was no glow of any high-level Spiritual Artifact on this blade. All it had was thick, blackened blood and bits of exotic beast flesh!

With every step Gu Lie took, a pungent, thick smell of blood, mixed with the stench of corpses, rushed toward them. It was so strong that it made one's stomach churn violently.

"Brother Chen..." Jiang Feng gripped his mountain-splitting giant axe tightly, his palms full of cold sweat.

He gasped for air, feeling as if a huge mountain was pressing down on his chest. "This guy's Aura... it's too evil!"

Lin Qinghan also bit her lip tightly, her cold eyes filled with shock. Under the pressure of this Aura, the speed of the extreme cold True Qi within her body had slowed by half!

This was not simple pressure from a difference in Realm. This was a materialized killing Aura condensed after crawling out of countless mountains of corpses and seas of blood, and after killing thousands of creatures!

For an ordinary Martial Artist standing here, this Killing Intent alone would be enough to scare them out of their mind!

Su Chen, standing at the very front, still kept his hands in his pockets.

He tilted his head slightly, his pitch-black eyes quietly watching Gu Lie as he walked closer.

Just then, "Beep!"

Deep in Su Chen's mind, that [myriad worlds origin extraction system], which usually only reacted when settling rewards, had unprecedentedly and actively emitted a sharp notification sound!

Immediately after, a scarlet data panel popped up directly on Su Chen's retina.

[Target Identity: Gu Lie (Deputy Camp Commander of Shura Camp)]

[Current Realm: Half-step Martial King Realm!]

Seeing the words "Half-step Martial King," Su Chen's eyes did not flicker in the slightest. In the capital, he had even crushed a Half-step Martial King, Grand Elder Wang Zhentian, who had swallowed a secret drug, with one hand. A Half-step Martial King was no threat to him.

However, the red warning text that followed from the System made Su Chen's pupils shrink slightly.

[Warning!]

[Target's practical killing techniques have reached the Transcendent Realm!]

[Detected that the target's Physical Body has experienced countless near-death and life-and-death reconstructions; cellular activity and strike resistance have mutated extremely!]

[Evaluation Conclusion: The actual lethality and danger level far exceed a conventional Martial King Realm Early Stage!]

Far exceed a conventional Martial King? Even more dangerous than Grand Elder Wang Zhentian who swallowed the abyss secret drug?

A trace of extremely rare intrigue flashed in the depths of Su Chen's eyes.

He looked at Gu Lie's gruesome, centipede-like scars. He looked at the serrated saber stained with bits of flesh.

Su Chen instantly understood what the System meant.

In the capital, those Martial Kings and Great Grandmasters from wealthy families and conglomerates were all piled up by massive amounts of top-tier Medicinal Pills and top-tier Cultivation resources! They had the Realm, but their combat experience was pitifully scarce.

They were invincible in favorable battles, but once they encountered a life-and-death struggle, their true colors were immediately revealed, like flowers in a greenhouse.

But Gu Lie in front of him was different!

This one-eyed giant was truly, in the meat grinder of the Star Gate front line! In the extreme cold of minus seventy degrees! Facing endless abyss exotic beasts, he was a top-tier soldier king who had fought for his life with every blade and gun stroke!

Every one of his movements was for the purpose of killing. Every scar on his body was a medal of honor from crawling back from Hell.

This was the true soldier of Great Xia! This was the ultimate beast capable of surviving on the Far North front line!

"No wonder this group of outlaws is so afraid of him." Su Chen sneered in his heart. "Compared to those trash in the capital, this beast is actually quite interesting."

"Step."

The heavy footsteps stopped.

Gu Lie stopped less than three meters away from Su Chen. His terrifying height of 2.5 meters allowed him to completely look down from a superior position at the young man in black before him.

Gu Lie's only remaining right eye, filled with red bloodshot veins, scrutinized Su Chen up and down, extremely presumptuously and with a strong sense of evaluation.

He looked at Su Chen's brand-new, crisp Major General's trench coat. He looked at the polished military boots that hadn't even touched the snow. Finally, his gaze landed on Su Chen's fair, delicate, and unblemished face.

The disdain and disgust in Gu Lie's eyes were almost overflowing, becoming tangible.

"You," Gu Lie spoke.

His voice sounded like two rusty, coarse grinding wheels violently rubbing against each other. It was low, hoarse, and permeated with a strong smell of blood.

"Are the new Camp Commander sent by those old fogies in the capital?"

Su Chen did not look up. He only slightly raised his eyelids, his pitch-black eyes meeting Gu Lie's ferocious, single eye with extreme calmness.

"Major General, Su Chen." Su Chen's tone was equally flat, without a hint of fluctuation. "From now on, I am taking over this place."

Hearing Su Chen's words, the hundreds of surrounding soldiers revealed cruel smiles, waiting to watch a good show. Daring to be this arrogant in front of their boss? This pretty boy was dead meat!

Gu Lie did not get angry. He only slightly grinned, the huge scar running across his entire face twisting violently with his movement, making him look even more hideous and terrifying.

"Taking over?"

Gu Lie seemed to have heard the funniest joke in the world.

He abruptly turned his head. "Ptui!"

A thick glob of bloody phlegm, mixed with bits of internal organs, was spat fiercely onto the snow by him.

Gu Lie turned his head and forced himself half a step closer, looking down from above. The sickening stench of corpses rushed directly toward Su Chen's face.

"You soft-skinned brat," Gu Lie tightened his grip on the bloody serrated saber in his hand, his voice bone-chillingly cold. "The fierce winds of the Far North will scrape that pretty little face of yours to shreds while you're still alive."
