170: Chapter 170 Help me beat up someone, his name is Ye Fan

Beside it stood two people.

One was a middle-aged man with a steady demeanor and handsome features, his entire being radiating an aura that inspired instinctive awe. The other was a youth, appearing fifteen or sixteen years old, with delicate features and an innate heroic spirit between his brows.

He wore ancient attire, his long hair draped over his shoulders as he stood in the center of the hall, his calm gaze sweeping over everyone present.

A deathly silence filled the hall.

The Holy Lord of the Ji Family trembled as he looked at the youth. That face, those eyes, and the heroic spirit between the brows—he looked exactly like the Void Emperor in the ancestral portraits.

He suddenly stood up and walked quickly to the youth. Then, he knelt on both knees and performed a respectful, grand salute.

"The unworthy descendant of the Ji Family welcomes the Imperial Son!"

His voice trembled, his eyes reddened, and his body shook slightly.

The Elders also reacted. They stood up one after another, walked quickly behind the Holy Lord, and knelt down in unison.

"Welcome, Imperial Son!"

"Welcome, Imperial Son!"

The voices echoed in the hall, carrying the weight of hundreds of thousands of years of waiting and the expectations of countless generations.

Ji Haoyue was stunned. Looking at the youth and then at his father and the Elders kneeling on the ground, a storm of shock surged in his heart.

Imperial Son?

The son of the Void Emperor?

The Imperial Son who had been sealed for hundreds of thousands of years?

Ji Ziyue was also stunned. Her hands covered her small mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief. She had heard legends of the Imperial Son since childhood, knowing the Ji Family possessed a Seal of Divine Source where a very important person slept. But she never imagined that person would wake up today and stand before her.

Ye Fan was equally shocked. He had heard that some Great Emperors would Seal their descendants, letting them emerge in a suitable era to contend for the supreme throne. But he hadn't expected to encounter a so-called descendant of a Great Emperor just a few days after arriving at the Ji Family.

He instinctively moved to bow; this was basic etiquette toward the descendant of a Great Emperor.

However, before he could bend down, the youth—Ji Zi—fixed his gaze upon him.

Those eyes were clear and calm, yet possessed a sharpness that could not be ignored. Ye Fan was momentarily dazed by the gaze, and his movements faltered.

Ji Zi looked at him, a faint smile appearing at the corners of his mouth.

"Your name is Ye Fan, right?"

Ye Fan was taken aback. He didn't expect this newly awakened Imperial Son to actually know his name.

"I am." He nodded and cupped his hands in greeting. "Greetings, Imperial Son."

Ji Zi waved his hand. "No need for formalities."

He sized Ye Fan up, a hint of curiosity flashing in his eyes. "Those Lords told me about you. Ancient Desolate Saint Body, Fifth Heaven of the Dao Palace, and you fought Ji Haoyue to a draw."

Ye Fan's heart stirred. Those Lords? Which ones?

Ji Zi continued, "One of those Lords asked me to fight you. A battle at the same Realm, to see who is stronger."

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone in the hall was stunned.

The Holy Lord of the Ji Family looked up at Ji Zi and then at Ye Fan, a complex look in his eyes. The Imperial Son had just awakened and already wanted to fight someone?

Ji Haoyue was also dazed. He looked at Ji Zi and then at Ye Fan, an inexplicable emotion welling up. He had just fought Ye Fan not long ago and knew how difficult the guy was to deal with. Now the Imperial Son wanted to fight him too?

Ji Ziyue's hands covered her mouth as her eyes grew even wider. The Imperial Son wanted to fight Ye Fan? Right after waking up?

Ye Fan looked at Ji Zi and remained silent for a moment. Then, he smiled.

"Fine."

He nodded, Battle Intent igniting in his eyes.

Ji Zi also smiled. The smile was faint, but it carried an innate confidence.

"Then let's begin."

As the words fell, the void mirror vibrated slightly. A silver light shot out from the mirror's surface, enveloping both Ye Fan and Ji Zi. In the next instant, both figures vanished from the hall.

"Go!"

The Holy Lord of the Ji Family was the first to react, his figure flashing as he rushed out of the hall. The Elders followed suit. Ji Haoyue grabbed his sister and also sped toward the Arena.

The news quickly spread throughout the entire Ji Family.

"The Imperial Son has emerged!"

"The child of the Void Emperor is awake!"

"The Imperial Son is going to fight that Ye Fan on the Arena!"

Countless Disciples swarmed out, heading toward the Arena. They didn't know who Ye Fan was, but they knew what the Imperial Son represented—he was the biological son of the Void Emperor and the Ji Family's greatest hidden foundation!

When the crowd arrived at the Arena, Ye Fan and Ji Zi were already standing in the center.

They stood facing each other, dozens of feet apart. As the night wind blew, their robes fluttered loudly.

The area around the Arena was soon packed with people. The Holy Lord of the Ji Family and several Elders stood at the very front with solemn expressions. Ji Haoyue stood beside his father, his gaze fixed on the two figures on the stage. Ji Ziyue stood next to her brother, clutching the corner of her clothes, too nervous to speak.

Standing on one side of the Arena, Ye Fan looked at Ji Zi. He could feel an aura radiating from the youth that was completely different from his own. It was the aura of an Imperial Son, the Legacy of the Void Emperor's Bloodline. That aura was restrained and profound, like an unfathomable ancient pool.

On the other side, Ji Zi also looked at Ye Fan. He could feel a vigorous and overbearing golden blood Qi radiating from the youth. That was the aura of the Ancient Desolate Saint Body, a Physique invincible within the same Realm.

The two faced each other in silence.

More and more people gathered around the Arena. Disciples stood on tiptoe and craned their necks to see the situation on stage. The Elders whispered among themselves, discussing the event.

"The Imperial Son just woke up and he's already fighting?"

"Who is that Ye Fan? How can he exchange blows with the Imperial Son?"

"The Ancient Desolate Saint Body; I heard he fought Young Master Haoyue to a draw."

"A draw? A Dao Palace Realm fought a Four Poles Secret Realm to a draw?"

"You underestimate the Ancient Desolate Saint Body. That Physique is invincible in the same Realm; fighting above one's level is no problem."

The discussions rose and fell but were soon suppressed by a cough.

The Holy Lord of the Ji Family cleared his throat and said deeply, "Be quiet. Watch closely."

The crowd fell silent. Everyone's eyes were focused on the two youths on the Arena.

Ji Zi looked at Ye Fan, a smile playing on his lips. "Those Lords sent me to beat you up. They said I should see if you can defeat me."

Ye Fan was stunned for a moment, then he also laughed. "Did those Lords tell you that the last person who wanted to beat me up is still recovering from his injuries?"

His gaze flickered toward Ji Haoyue below the Arena.

Ji Haoyue's face darkened slightly.

Ji Zi followed his gaze to look at Ji Haoyue, then turned back to Ye Fan. His smile deepened.

"Is that so? Then I look forward to it."

The two locked eyes, Battle Intent burning in both.

The void mirror hovered above the Arena, the silver light on its surface flickering gently as if watching a play, as if waiting.

The night wind blew, and the flags on the Arena fluttered loudly.

Everyone held their breath.

The great battle was about to break out.
