46: Nalan Yanran was defeated! [Please continue reading!]

The fierce battle had already exceeded a hundred moves. Cold sweat seeped from Xiao Yan's forehead, and the hand gripping the xuan heavy ruler was numb from the vibrations.

Nalan Yanran's swordplay grew sharper, each sword strike seemingly carrying the biting chill of a mountain peak. Her sword moves connected seamlessly, clearly having mastered and perfected her Dou Technique under the meticulous guidance of the Cloud Mist Sect!

"If this continues, I'm sure to lose!"

Xiao Yan's mind raced. His three years of experience fighting desperadoes in the Magical Beast Mountain Range told him he had to break this stalemate.

He suddenly retracted his ruler and retreated, his left arm rapidly forming seals in front of his chest. Azure Dou Qi surged like a tide towards his fists, and crackling sounds came from his bones.

"Eight Extremities Collapse!"

As his low shout fell, Xiao Yan shot out like an arrow released from a bowstring. His fists, accompanied by a sonic boom that tore through the air, actually penetrated Nalan Yanran's sword net, aiming directly for the opening in front of her chest.

This move condensed all his Dou Qi; it was a desperate close-quarters killing blow!

Nalan Yanran's pupils contracted slightly, not expecting Xiao Yan to be so decisive.

She tapped her toes on the ground, her body suddenly rising. Her longsword traced an arc in mid-air, and the sword shadow instantly split into seven or eight strands, each glinting with a chilling light: "Wind Spirit Split-Form Sword!"

Sword shadows collided with fist winds; the energy blast's shockwave made their robes flap loudly.

Xiao Yan was shaken back repeatedly, a trace of blood overflowing from the corner of his mouth. Nalan Yanran, too, felt her Qi and blood churn from the brutal force, her face turning pale.

"A bit interesting." Nalan Yanran wiped away the blood from her lips, a hint of Battle Intent flashing in her eyes. "But do you think that's enough?"

She suddenly raised her hand and untied her hair, her long black hair cascading down like a waterfall. Her surrounding Dou Qi surged dramatically, the pale green light almost solidifying.

Her longsword pointed at Xiao Yan, and a faint golden glow actually appeared on the sword body—a sign that Dou Qi had been compressed to its extreme.

"This is... the Cloud Mist Sect's Earth Rank Dou Technique 'Limit of Wind - Sunset Radiance'!" Fa Ma exclaimed softly, his eyes filled with shock.

Such a secret 傳 Dou Technique was actually mastered by a young Disciple!

Yun Ling sat on the platform, his fingers, stroking his beard, paused slightly, then he revealed a look of satisfaction.

This move was enough to crush anyone of the same rank; Xiao Yan was sure to die!

Xiao Yan gazed at the sword light that seemed to pierce the sky, feeling the stinging pain of his skin being torn by the Sword Qi. Yet, the Dou Qi within him boiled at this moment.

Yao Lao's voice echoed in his mind: "Kid, use the strange fire to activate the Flame Splitting Tsunami Ruler, don't be afraid of consuming Dou Qi!"

"Strange fire?" Xiao Yan's eyes sharpened. Although the Green Lotus Core Flame was lost, the Beast Fire he refined, enhanced by Yao Lao's secret method, was already extraordinary.

He fiercely bit his tongue, spitting a mouthful of vital blood onto the xuan heavy ruler. The pitch-black ruler instantly ignited with dark red flames. Dou Qi and flames intertwined, forming a flame wave several zhang long.

"Flame Splitting Tsunami Ruler!"

This time, it was no longer a simple Dou Qi attack. The flames and ruler's shadow fused, scorching and distorting the air wherever they passed, carrying the might to burn mountains and boil seas, crushing towards Nalan Yanran.

"You're courting death!" Nalan Yanran cried out, her longsword slashing through the sky. The golden sword light, which condensed all her power, collided with the flame wave like a meteor falling to the earth.

"Boom—!"

A deafening roar echoed throughout Yun Lan Mountain, and the violent energy shockwave shattered the stone pillars at the edge of the plaza.

Amidst the billowing dust, two figures were sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground.

Everyone held their breath, even Yun Ling couldn't help but lean forward, staring intently at the center of the dust.

As the dust slowly dispersed, Xiao Yan was seen propping himself up with the xuan heavy ruler, half-kneeling with difficulty on the ground. His clothes were tattered and burned, and his skin was covered with tiny wounds, but his eyes shone with astonishing brightness.

Across from him, Nalan Yanran's longsword was broken into two. She sat slumped on the ground, her plain white dress stained with blood, her chest heaving violently, clearly unable to fight anymore.

She looked at Xiao Yan, her eyes filled with disbelief. Had she truly lost?

"I... lost?" Nalan Yanran murmured to herself, her voice tinged with bewilderment.

Xiao Yan slowly straightened his body, the xuan heavy ruler striking the ground with a dull thud.

He looked at Nalan Yanran, his voice hoarse but exceptionally firm: "The Three-Year Agreement, Xiao Yan of the Xiao Family, wins!"

The plaza fell silent, then erupted in an uproar of disbelief.

No one expected that this seemingly one-sided match would ultimately see this young man from a small town emerge victorious.

Yun Ling's face instantly turned ashen. He gripped the armrest of his seat tightly, his knuckles white from the effort.

He couldn't fathom how Nalan Yanran, who had received the full cultivation of the Cloud Mist Sect, could lose to a good-for-nothing!

Xiao Yan ignored the surrounding gazes, turning and walking step by step towards the edge of the plaza.

Each step was heavy, yet exceptionally firm. Three years of forbearance and arduous cultivation had finally borne fruit today.

"Wait, Xiao Yan, you can't leave yet."

Yun Ling's expression was grim. With a flash, he blocked Xiao Yan.

The worst had finally come... Xiao Yan thought to himself, but he wasn't nervous.

There was no nervousness.
