Vina stepped forward slowly. Her wolf ears flicked back against her hair as she approached, claws flexing faintly at her sides. Shadows coiled around her ankles with each quiet step, whispering across the blood-stained asphalt. Her crimson eyes burned tired and cold as she looked down at the kneeling pair.

"Lucifer," she said softly, her voice rough from exhaustion and pain. "We need to leave."

He didn’t move. His horns flickered dimly in the smoky light, curved shadows falling across his bruised, bloodstreaked face. The clone clung to him silently, his tears soaking into Lucifer’s torn chest armor.

"Lucifer," Vina said again, firmer now. "We have to go. Back to the Demon Realm. If we stay here... we die here."

He lifted his gaze to her slowly. Their eyes locked. For a moment, there was no demon king and werewolf outcast—just two tired beings standing among the dead. He remembered when her claws sank into his throat months ago, her fangs biting down as she tried to end him. Now she stood here, her voice shaking like a protector’s, like a companion’s, her tails curled tight in silent grief.

The irony wasn’t lost on him. The world was full of broken circles.

His eyes drifted past her to Francisca’s body. Ella still knelt there, shoulders trembling with silent sobs as she brushed pale strands of hair from the kitsune’s cold face. The dawn light painted her silver hair in faint gold, making her look almost alive again. Almost.

Lucifer’s throat tightened. He felt the scream rise inside his chest but forced it down. He closed his eyes, breathing slowly, letting the quiet grief eat into his bones like acid.

The word whispered through his mind, echoing into the silent void beyond reality. For a moment, there was only darkness. Then—a flicker of presence. Heavy. Endless. Cold as eternity.

Silence. Then a quiet laugh—low, rumbling, old as the first night.

Lucifer clenched his teeth, his eyes burning deeper. Then I will go there.

The presence faded, dissolving back into silent darkness. Lucifer lowered his head, hair falling across his blood-smeared face. His wings twitched faintly behind him, black feathers curling inward with each ragged breath he took.

He looked down at the clone trembling in his arms. For a moment, an idea flickered in his mind—brief and cold. He could recreate her. Use the clone’s blood, his blood, magic, everything he had to forge a new Francisca. An echo. A replacement.

But as quickly as the thought came, it died. His chest tightened with silent grief. He shook his head slowly.

No... that would be a lie.

A cheap imitation. A shadow with her face but not her soul. He couldn’t bear it. Not her. Not Francisca.

He closed his eyes tighter, pressing his forehead against the clone’s trembling hair.

Nothing will stand in my way, he thought quietly. Even if it means burning the Elven Realm to ash. Even if it means turning the Demon Realm, the Vampire Realm, the Spirit Realm, the entire Celestial Realm against me. I will bring her back.

His fist clenched so tight blood dripped from his palm, mixing with the clone’s tears where they pooled in the cracked street. His aura pulsed softly, rippling the dust around them as tiny stones lifted from the ground, caught in the silent pressure radiating from his quiet rage.



Vina stepped closer, her shadow stretching across his folded wings.

"Lucifer," she said again, quieter this time. "Please... we can’t lose you too."

He looked up at her. Her red eyes trembled faintly, tears gathering at the edges but refusing to fall. She held his gaze with silent, stubborn certainty. For a moment, she didn’t look like an enemy. Didn’t look like a werewolf at all. She looked like a sister standing beside him on the edge of a dying world.

He released the clone gently. The broken echo collapsed to his knees, tears dripping onto his trembling hands as he curled inward, silent sobs shaking his thin frame. Lucifer stood slowly. His wings spread wide behind him, shaking blood and ash from their feathers in silent arcs across the broken street.

Ella looked up at him, eyes red and swollen with grief. "Lucifer..." she whispered, her voice cracking. "What do we do now...?"

He turned his gaze to her. For a long moment, he said nothing. His molten eyes burned with quiet, endless purpose. The dawn wind caught his hair, flicking black strands across his tired, bruised face.

"We survive," he said softly.

His voice carried no hope. No comfort. Only quiet command. Only the unbreakable promise of a king who had nothing left to lose.

Vina turned away, shadows flickering around her as she moved toward Rey, who slumped against the remains of a shattered wall, blood dripping from his split lip. She helped him up, his weight heavy against her shoulders as he whispered silent curses under his breath.

Lucifer bent down slowly, his claws brushing Francisca’s cold cheek. He pressed his forehead against hers for a moment, his eyes closing as a silent tear slipped down his face, disappearing into her silver hair.

Then he rose.

He stepped forward.



The clone remained kneeling, sobbing silently, his wings limp at his sides. Lucifer didn’t look at him. He walked past, the dawnlight catching on his horns, his bloodstained armor, his weary golden eyes. Each step carried the quiet, final weight of a man who had made his choice.

Ella rose, her legs trembling as she wiped her tears. She followed him, barefoot across the cracked asphalt, her bloodied dress sweeping silent dust into the air behind her.

Vina and Rey joined them, walking with slow, painful steps, shadows curling around their tired bodies like silent cloaks.

The city burned around them.

Lucifer walked at the front.
