156: Using oil to clean up the mess? What an arrogant oil tycoon!
On the deck of ferry no. 0819, the atmosphere was tense.
The machine gunners on the armed speedboats opposite had their backs soaked in cold sweat.
He wanted to pull the trigger, but his finger felt like it didn't belong to him.
Under the gaze of those golden eyes, he could do nothing but tremble.
It was as if he were being stared down by a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
If he dared to move even an inch, he would be torn to shreds the next second.
"Struck dumb?"
It wasn't until he took the last puff of his cigarette that Chen Du lazily looked up.
A hint of playfulness flashed in his golden eyes: "Weren't you acting tough just now? Why are your hands shaking?"
Just then.
The sound of clattering footsteps came from the rear cabin of the speedboat.
A burly man in a greasy camouflage uniform and a full beard emerged, cursing as he came.
A necklace of human teeth hung around his neck, and he carried a sawed-off shotgun in his hand.
As soon as this fellow appeared, his beady eyes seemed to have radar installed.
Finally, they glued themselves to Lin Keke's long legs in white silk stockings and Ye Qiu's chest, which was nearly bursting out of her nightgown.
Gulp!
The sound of swallowing was particularly jarring on the silent sea.
"These legs... quite smooth..."
He stuck out his tongue and licked the corner of his mouth, the barrel of his gun tilting upward, intentionally or otherwise.
"Oh, newcomers? Don't know the rules, do you?"
The Bearded Man was likely the leader of this checkpoint.
He picked bits of meat from his teeth with a dagger while sneering, "In Blackgold Harbor, don't talk to me about status."
"No money? Even if the King of Heaven himself came, he'd have to lose a layer of skin before getting in!"
He pointed at the card in Chen Du's hand.
"Don't think holding a crappy card works as a protective talisman. This only exempts the poll tax, understand?"
The Bearded Man rubbed his fingers together, making a gesture universal the world over.
"Docking fee, quarantine fee, and the security fee for these beauties..."
"If you can't produce it..."
He gave a sinister laugh.
His gaze once again swept wantonly across the base of Xia Mo's thighs.
"Then I'll just have to detain them first and take them back to the interrogation room for a thorough check to see if they're carrying any viruses."
Several lackeys behind him also joined in the clamor, letting out lewd, strange laughs.
With her explosive temper, how could Xia Lai stand this?
The gaze beneath her mask turned cold, and her mechanical arm rose with a hum.
"You want to die? This young lady will grant your wish!"
"Hold on."
Chen Du reached out and stopped her.
Instead of getting angry, he actually smiled.
The smile was so bright it was as if he were watching a clown performing with all his might in a circus.
"You want a toll? You should have said so sooner."
Chen Du took a deep drag of his cigarette and then flicked the butt into the sea.
"I don't have many virtues, but I'm so poor that all I have left is money."
He turned around and snapped his fingers.
The hold door swung open with a bang.
Mao Mao, wearing floral boxers and a pink bow on its head, came running out, huffing and puffing.
The fellow carried a massive iron drum, half a man's height, on each shoulder.
The drums were covered in rust.
The red spray paint on them, not yet fully dry, was the mark made when they were looted from Wang Ce's ship.
"Roar!"
Mao Mao seemed to understand its master's intent; it walked to the gunwale and threw the two dead-heavy oil drums onto the open ground of the dock!
Clang!
The Bearded Man was startled and was about to fly into a rage: "Are you throwing f*cking trash? Do you have a death wish?!"
The next second.
Chen Du's finger twitched slightly.
The pitch-black shadow transformed into a blade, instantly slicing off the lids of the oil drums.
Liquid surged out!
Golden, viscous, and emitting an industrial fragrance... it was diesel!
And it was high-purity, for f*ck's sake!
The golden-yellow liquid spread rapidly over the murky sea, refracting a hazy, rainbow-like halo in the sunlight.
Was that even oil?
That was clearly flowing liquid gold! It was burning lifespan!
The pungent smell of oil overpowered the stench of corpses, sending everyone's dopamine into a frenzy!
"Holy sh*t!"
The Bearded Man's eyes were about to pop out of his head.
He didn't care about putting on airs anymore and lunged forward.
He reached out to catch the flowing oil, cupping it to his nose and sniffing hard.
"It's real... it's real oil! So pure?! This is f*ckin' gold!"
In this hellhole, a liter of oil could buy a night's ownership of an adult woman, or even a human life!
But now... this pretty boy who looked like a nouveau riche was actually splashing this stuff around like water?!
"What, not enough?"
Chen Du looked at the leader, who was lying on the ground with his rear in the air catching oil, his gaze contemptuous.
"Mao Mao, continue."
"Roar!"
Mao Mao worked very hard.
Two more drums were brought out!
Then another two!
In just a few short minutes.
Over a dozen oil drums were already piled on the deck.
Some of the ruptured drums were gurgling oil, dyeing that small patch of seawater golden-yellow.
This scene was like carving flesh from the hearts of these poor bastards!
The guards on the surrounding speedboats all went crazy.
Some even took out their helmets to catch it, while others knelt directly on the ground, scooping it onto their boats.
"Stop pouring! Sir! Great Ancestor! Stop pouring!"
The Bearded Man's face twisted in agony; his expression was more pained than if his own mother had died.
"This is a sin! So much oil... it's enough to keep us burning for half a month!"
"Only half a month?"
Chen Du leaned lazily against the gunwale, his tone infuriatingly nonchalant. "I still have five hundred drums in the hold. I thought they were taking up too much space and wanted to trade them for some black gold coins."
Five hundred drums?!
This number was like a thunderclap, leaving everyone stunned.
How was this a fat sheep?
This was a f*cking mobile American oil field!
Just then.
The gates of the breakwater in the distance swung open with a bang.
A modified bulletproof SUV sped over, trailing billowing black smoke, followed by two trucks of private soldiers armed to the teeth.
Before the vehicle had even come to a full stop.
A middle-aged man wearing a tailcoat and a slicked-back hairstyle stepped down.
He looked at the diesel flowing all over the ground, the flesh on his face trembling.
"Stop! Everyone stop!"
The man rushed up roaring and delivered a kick straight to the chest of the Bearded Man, who was still catching oil.
"You blind dog! Letting a distinguished guest pour oil on the ground? Are you even worthy?!"
After the kick, he turned to face Chen Du.
His face changed faster than a Sichuan Opera mask; one second he was the King of Hell, and the next, he was a lapdog.
Fawning, humble, and enthusiastic, he bent his waist so low it seemed he wanted to stuff his head into his crotch.
"A misunderstanding! It's all a misunderstanding!"
The middle-aged man pulled out a clean white handkerchief and wiped his sweat. "I am Manager Liu Sheng, the Foreign Affairs Manager of Blackgold Harbor."
"My subordinates were ignorant and offended the Oil Tycoon... ah, no, offended the distinguished gentleman."
Manager Liu Sheng's eyelids twitched wildly.
Washing the deck with military-grade diesel?
This was beyond what "nouveau riche" could describe.
This was a warlord! This was the kind of move only those top giants in the Inner Ring could make!
Then looking at those composed beauties with sophisticated weapons, and the strange shadow writhing at the man's feet... He couldn't afford to provoke them!
Definitely a powerful outsider!
Wealthy, good-looking, and powerful.
In Blackgold Harbor, such people were living ancestors!
"Sir, please put away your... cargo."
Manager Liu Sheng smiled apologetically, though his eyes drifted greedily toward the hold. "We will arrange the highest-specification berth for you immediately! VIP passage! All fees waived!"
"Waived?"
Chen Du raised an eyebrow with a half-smile. "That's not what this brother said just now. He said he wanted to collect a security fee."
"His heart was clouded by eating sh*t!"
Manager Liu Sheng's expression turned fierce as he turned and roared at the soldiers behind him, "Drag this blind fool away! Give him a sound thrashing!"
"No! Manager, have mercy! Sir, have mercy!"
The Bearded Man was dragged away, screaming.
But no one around felt any sympathy.
These were the rules of Blackgold Harbor.
Whoever has the resources is the boss!
Chen Du looked at the oil stains at his feet, the corners of his mouth curling slightly.
Although it was a bit painful to waste, the effect was outstanding.
In a place like this, showing weakness means being eaten until not even the bones are left.
Only by being crazier and more overbearing than them could one get a ticket into the inner circle.
This is called having vision.
"Alright, move it all back."
Chen Du flicked the dust off his collar, his voice cold:
"Lead the way."
"I want to see if this so-called paradise of yours can pique my interest!"
