50: Hurricane Rescue!

"Baby! Beautifully done!"

Chen Du led the group in a wild dash, stepping over fish scales and shredded meat as they rushed onto the pier.

ferry no. 0819 was right before their eyes.

It was like a withered leaf in the wind and rain, tossing violently amidst the raging waves.

The mooring ropes were pulled taut, threatening to snap at any moment!

"Quick! Untie the ropes! Start the engine!!"

Chen Du jumped onto the deck and roared, "Xia Lai! Go to the engine room! Fill up the fuel for me!"

"Okay!" Xia Lai wiped the blood from her face and rushed toward the cabin.

"Xia Xin! Watch the skies! Don't let any flying monsters get close!"

"Understood!"

"Tang Ran! Take the helm! Steady the ship!!"

Orders were barked out one after another, and the entire team began to function like a precision machine.

This was the core team Chen Du wanted.

Not eye candy, but sharp blades that could carve a path through the apocalypse!

However.

As his gaze swept across the busy crowd, Chen Du's eyes narrowed.

Something was wrong.

The headcount was off.

"Where's Xiao Ai?!"

He turned around and grabbed Ye Qiu. "Didn't Xiao Ai come back first with the supplies? Where is she?!"

Ye Qiu's face turned pale as she looked around. "I... I don't know! When I got back, only the Xia sisters were on guard!"

"What?!"

A chill surged in Chen Du's heart.

Although Xiao Ai didn't say much, her execution was extremely strong; she wouldn't wander off at a critical moment like this.

Unless... something happened.

"Chen Du!! Look over there!!"

Suddenly, An Nuonuo pointed toward the shore and screamed.

Following the direction of her finger.

At the edge of the pier, a hundred meters away from the ferry, was a pile of containers about to be swallowed by the sea.

And from a gap, a blood-stained hand reached out.

That familiar leather jacket sleeve... it was Xiao Ai!

She was trapped by the collapsed cargo!

Overhead.

A massive white wave had already curled up dozens of meters high, crashing down with thunderous force!

"It's too late!!"

Xia Xin shouted in terror, her voice cracking. "The ship must leave port immediately! Otherwise, we'll all be crushed!!"

"Captain! Quick, give the order to set sail!!"

Every gaze was fixed on Chen Du.

This was a true life-or-death decision.

Chen Du gripped the railing tightly, the towering wave reflected in his pupils.

That woman had once executed all his orders without hesitation.

"Damn it!"

Chen Du's gaze turned ferocious.

"Tang Ran! Set sail!!"

"Don't worry about me!!"

Before his voice had even faded.

He stepped onto the gunwale and leaped toward the world-destroying tsunami!

"Swiftwind Wings!!"

Since she's my crew member, even if the King of Hell comes, he'll have to spit her back out for me!!

The sea breeze was like a knife, the rain like a waterfall.

In mid-air, Chen Du was falling at high speed.

Beneath him were the roaring, churning black waves; above him was the giant wave about to overturn the world.

The feeling of weightlessness enveloped his entire body, but there wasn't a trace of panic in his eyes.

Buzz—!

The void trembled.

A pair of light wings made of pure azure airflow tore through the air behind his back!

His rapidly falling figure pulled into a perfect arc at the critical distance of less than ten meters from the sea surface.

Accompanied by a piercing sonic boom cloud, Chen Du soared against the wind!

[Swiftwind Wings] activated! Duration: 5 minutes!

The violent airflow tore a vacuum channel through the curtain of rain. Chen Du had only one target—the pier!

...Rumble!

The container stacking area was already a purgatory.

Seawater flooded in, and countless deep-sea monsters crawled ashore with the tide.

Xiao Ai huddled deep in the corner formed by two containers, her tachi's blade already notched and dulled from hacking.

She was soaked through, her yoga outfit wrinkled by the seawater and clinging tightly to her body, outlining her disheveled yet hot curves.

With her heavy breathing, the rise and fall were striking.

"Cough, cough..."

Xiao Ai spat out a mouthful of seawater, watching the man-eating fish monsters gathering in increasing numbers around her.

There were about thirty of them.

They surrounded the containers.

They stared greedily at this human female with nowhere to run, saliva dripping from their mouths.

"So unlucky..."

Xiao Ai gave a bitter laugh, leaning weakly against the sheet metal.

She was actually quite clever and had even dodged the first wave of pursuers.

But who would have thought this damned Kun would flip over so quickly?

In the distance, the roar of ferry no. 0819's engine could be heard faintly.

Through the curtain of rain, she saw the ship moving away.

Abandoned.

"Go... just go."

Xiao Ai's eyes reddened, but she felt no resentment.

Rule number one of the apocalypse: No one is obligated to die with you.

That Chen Du could escape with the others was already more than enough.

She raised the notched tachi and aimed it at her own neck.

Compared to being humiliated and devoured by these monsters, ending it herself might be a bit more dignified.

"Goodbye, this rotten world."

Xiao Ai closed her eyes and began to apply pressure with her wrist.

Just then.

A scream loud enough to shatter eardrums exploded from overhead!

It wasn't a monster's roar.

It was the wind!

It was a wind so violent it tore everything apart!

Xiao Ai snapped her eyes open.

In the dark and oppressive sky above, a blinding azure light suddenly flashed.

A figure with wings on his back, trailing a long tail of light, smashed violently through the monsters' encirclement!

Boom—!!

The air surged, and the surrounding seawater was whipped into a white mist.

Seven or eight fishmen were crushed instantly by the wind pressure!

The mist dissipated.

A man held a blade in one hand, maintaining a half-kneeling landing posture.

The pair of azure light wings behind him flapped slowly, scattering bits of stardust and keeping the surrounding torrential rain three meters away.

"Cap... Captain?!"

The tachi in Xiao Ai's hand dropped to the ground.

She even forgot to breathe, staring blankly at the man who had descended like an angel.

Was it an illusion?

How could a human... grow wings?

Chen Du slowly stood up, his dark-gold pupils shining brightly in the gloom.

He glanced at the crowd of monsters preparing to surround them again and roared angrily:

"My crew members—even the King of Hell wouldn't dare take them!"

The next second.

The light wheels in his eyes spun frantically!

[Tyrants Gaze]!

This time, it was a fan-shaped, wide-area crowd control!

An invisible mental shockwave swept forward, centered on Chen Du!

"Ji?!"

"Gua...?!"

Those ferocious man-eating fish monsters froze.

Their pupils instantly dilated and lost focus.

As if they had seen some unspeakable horror.

Thump, thump, thump... like wheat being harvested.

Dozens of monsters rolled their eyes, foamed at the mouth, and fell straight into the seawater.

Their bodies were still twitching uncontrollably.

The entire area... was left with only the sound of the torrential rain hitting the containers.

Chen Du turned around and reached out to Xiao Ai, who was already dumbfounded.

"What are you dazed for?"

"Do you want to stay here and be a bandit queen for these dead fish?"

Xiao Ai trembled all over and finally snapped out of it.

In that moment, grievance and ecstasy surged into her heart at the same time.

"Captain!!"

She scrambled out of the corner and grabbed Chen Du's hand.

The warmth from his palm was so real it made her want to cry!

"Hold on tight!"

Chen Du reached back and grabbed Xiao Ai's slender and highly elastic waist, pressing her firmly into his chest.

He looked up.

That hundred-meter-high world-destroying wall of water was less than fifty meters from the pier!

The shadow blotted out the sky, as if it would crush the entire world in the next second.

"Chen... Chen Du... are we going to die?"
