5: Chapter 5: Consuming a Yellow-Rank Spirit Sword, Spiritual Energy Gets Stuffed Between Teeth
Snap.
A crisp sound was exceptionally jarring in the deathly silent Sword Tomb.
Ye Feng casually picked up half a broken sword covered in verdigris from a pile of bones, and like snapping a sugarcane, broke the hard Low Grade Yellow Rank spiritual material into two.
It had no taste, the texture was astringent, like chewing on aged raw iron.
But he had no choice.
As his Adam's apple bobbed, the bronze broken sword blade was swallowed whole, and the black hole in his Dantian contracted violently, an intensely hot stream of energy instantly exploding outward.
An intense itching sensation came from his previously broken ribs; that was his bones healing rapidly.
It wasn't enough.
Ye Feng scanned his surroundings. This was the Sect's junkyard, but it was his buffet restaurant.
broken swords, ruined blades, discarded iron essence—they were everywhere.
He grabbed a rusted iron sword and was just about to put it into his mouth when the thick fog was suddenly stirred.
"This menace really has a tough life; even after entering the waste Sword Tomb, he can still sit so straight."
Messy footsteps crushed the dry bones on the ground.
Zhang Hu carried the black-scaled whip he usually used to teach troublemakers a lesson and walked out of the fog with a Face full of flab.
Behind him followed two Utility Disciples with equally fierce expressions, holding intimidation staves in their hands.
He was Wang Sen's dog, arriving as soon as he caught the scent.
Seeing Ye Feng sitting cross-legged on the ground, not only not dead but not even showing any intention of begging for mercy, the anger in Zhang Hu's heart flared up instantly.
"Playing tricks! Brother Sen said that if he isn't dead yet, we should help him register with the King of Hell."
Zhang Hu spat, and the black-scaled whip in his hand cracked with a loud explosion. "Beat him! Break his spine completely; let's see how he sits then!"
The two Utility Disciples grinned and stepped forward; they loved this kind of beating a dog in the water.
"Whoosh—"
The fine iron whip with barbs tore through the air, lashing fiercely at Ye Feng's already bloodied back.
With this whip strike, even a stone would crack.
However, Ye Feng didn't even move.
A dull sound of metal clashing rang through the valley.
There was no sound of skin tearing; instead, it sounded like it had struck a red-hot iron plate.
The Utility Disciple who struck felt his hand go numb and froze: "How is this kid's skin so hard..."
Before the words faded, a blood-stained hand suddenly reached out in reverse, firmly grasping the barbed tip of the whip.
The barbs pierced his palm, blood spilling out, but Ye Feng didn't even frown.
"Was it this hand that swung the whip just now?"
Ye Feng's voice was hoarse, like two pieces of sandpaper rubbing together.
That trace of Chaos Sword Intent just refined from the bronze broken sword flowed up the whip, tyrannically and unreasonably.
The Utility Disciple didn't even have time to let go before his entire right arm was, as if stuffed into a meat grinder, instantly exploded into a mist of blood.
"Ah—! My hand!!"
The shrill scream startled several carrion crows, causing them to fly away in alarm.
Ye Feng casually discarded the broken whip, turned around, grabbed the rusted sword on the ground that he hadn't finished eating, and pressed it against his chest.
He was trying a new method of devouring—directly using his Physical Body to touch and undergo Fusion, saving him from having a sore jaw.
But in the eyes of outsiders, this scene was terrifying.
"Ah!"
A short gasp came from behind a boulder to the side.
Lu Ling'er covered her mouth, her Face deathly pale; a jade bottle lay shattered at her feet, and several healing Medicinal Pills rolled into the grey-black soil.
She had snuck in to deliver medicine.
But what did she see?
That Senior Brother Ye who was always smiling on weekdays was now covered in blood, forcefully "kneading" a rusted sword into his own chest, while the Utility Disciple on the ground was rolling around holding his severed arm.
This wasn't a victim; this was a monster.
"Who is there!"
A loud shout came from the distant fog.
Wang Sen, who had originally just wanted to let Zhang Hu finish the job, was disturbed by the commotion and quickly surrounded the area with a dozen fully armed Law Enforcement Disciples.
Seeing the tragic state on the ground, Wang Sen's eyelid twitched, and then a flash of wild joy appeared on his sinister Face.
He had been worrying about not finding a reason to kill this "grave keeper."
"So bold!"
Wang Sen pointed at Ye Feng, his voice sharp with excitement. "As a sinner, you dare to privately devour the Sect's mineral resources in the Sword Tomb and also harm fellow disciples of the law enforcement!"
He stared fixedly at the sword body gradually disappearing into Ye Feng's chest; although he didn't know how it was done, it didn't prevent him from framing him.
"Caught red-handed! Ye Feng, you are practicing a Demonic Technique! According to the Sect's laws, your cultivation should be crippled, and you should be thrown into the Sword Melting Pool here to suffer the punishment of ten thousand swords piercing the heart!"
The surrounding Law Enforcement Disciples drew their swords one after another, the cold light biting, sealing off all of Ye Feng's escape routes.
Ye Feng slowly stood up, patted the rust off his hands, and a mocking arc curled at the corner of his mouth.
When one wants to condemn, one can always find a pretext.
Wang Sen waved his hand, his murderous intent fully revealed in his eyes.
Zhang Hu, in order to regain the Face he lost earlier in front of his new master, took the lead to draw the long blade from his waist and stepped forward with a ferocious Face.
