Chapter 111 The Male Lead's Cunning Jealousy: Wanwan, You're Not Allowed to Look at Other Men

Huo Yuan's face darkened.

He strode forward.

Without a hint of politeness, he grabbed Lin Xingwan and pulled her behind him.

He was like a wolf king guarding his food.

His pitch-black eyes, filled with immense pressure, stared fixedly at Dr. Jiang.

Being stared at like that, Dr. Jiang felt his hair stand on end.

His legs were trembling violently like a sieve.

"I... I didn't mean anything else..."

He stammered.

He stepped into a puddle, splashing muddy water all over his pant legs.

"Get lost!"

A single word spilled from Huo Yuan's throat.

It was as cold as ice.

How could Dr. Jiang dare to stay any longer?

Clutching that stack of papers, he scrambled away in a panic.

Lu Ting watched from the side.

He picked a piece of meat from between his teeth with his fingernail and spat on the ground.

"What a spineless bookworm," he muttered.

"Sister-in-law, don't pay him any mind. This kid is full of tricks."

Lin Xingwan didn't speak.

She patted Huo Yuan's arm.

"Alright, that's enough. Don't scare him into wetting himself."

Huo Yuan ignored her.

He grabbed her wrist with his backhand.

His palm was covered in sweat, sticky and clammy.

His temperature was frighteningly hot.

"Back to the room."

He dragged her toward the elevator.

His strides were extremely fast, as if he were rushing off to kill someone.

The top-floor bedroom.

The door was slammed shut with a "bang."

The chain on the door panel swung, emitting a harsh, crisp metallic sound.

Huo Yuan said nothing.

He shoved Lin Xingwan against the door panel.

His tall body loomed over her, carrying a stale scent mixed with sweat and machine oil.

But he was very hot, like a wall heated to a glowing red.

"Getting bold, are you?"

He looked down at her, his black eyes locked onto her.

Lin Xingwan didn't move.

She leaned against the door, a smile hanging on the corners of her lips.

"What did I do?"

"Just now, you looked at him."

Huo Yuan gripped her chin.

His fingertips were covered in calluses from years of holding guns, scraping her skin until it stung a little.

"His face is clean."

Lin Xingwan raised her eyes to look at him.

"So what if I looked at him a couple of extra times? Is it against the law?"

"I'll kill him."

Huo Yuan gritted his teeth.

The crimson hue in his eyes seemed ready to surface again.

"You're sick," Lin Xingwan cursed.

"That's right, I am sick."

Huo Yuan lowered his head.

Vengefully, he bit down on her lips.

"Hiss—"

Lin Xingwan felt the pain and frowned slightly.

He bit down hard.

It carried the scent of blood and the bitterness left over from the medicine testing earlier.

He was like a starving wolf tearing into its prey.

"Wanwan..." he growled inarticulately.

"You are not allowed to look at anyone else."

"You can only look at me."

The raw, rough paranoia radiating from him burned over like a wildfire.

Not only did Lin Xingwan not push him away, but she was also stirred up by his jealous display.

She reached out her hand and grabbed the stiff, short hair at the back of his head.

She tilted her head back, taking the initiative and kissing him back fiercely.

"You maniac," she cursed through their interlocked lips.

"That's right, I am a maniac."

A muffled groan escaped Huo Yuan's throat.

He supported her buttocks with one hand and hoisted her up abruptly.

Lin Xingwan took the opportunity to wrap her legs around his waist.

Their clothes rustled as they rubbed against each other.

Outside the window, the torrential rain was still pounding frantically against the glass.

Inside, however, it was as hot as a furnace.

Holding her, Huo Yuan fell back onto the large, soft bed.

The sheets were instantly stained with patches of sweat from both of them.

"Say my name."

Huo Yuan hovered over her, his muscles tense, sweat dripping down his cold, sharp facial features.

It landed on her collarbone, slick and slippery.

"Chief Huo?"

Lin Xingwan provoked him on purpose, her fox-like eyes full of playfulness.

"Are you going to say it or not?"

Huo Yuan leaned down and bit heavily onto her fair neck.

"Huo Yuan," Lin Xingwan hummed softly.

"You mad dog."

"I am your dog."

Huo Yuan's eyes were so scorching they looked like they were on fire.

He lowered his head and blocked her mouth once again.

Heavy, ragged breathing mixed with the sound of muffled thunder outside.

On the large bed, the red silk quilt was pulled into a mess.

Lin Xingwan's cashmere sweater lay on the floor, stained with a few drops of grease from last night that hadn't been washed off.

This night was absurd and wild.

Huo Yuan was like an untiring machine, imprinting his mark on her body over and over again.

The next morning.

The heavy rain still hadn't stopped.

The air was filled with a musty, damp smell.

Lin Xingwan was still curled up under the covers.

Suddenly, "Boom!"

A dull, massive tremor surged from beneath their feet, causing even the solid wood bed to shake violently a few times.

"Clang!"

On the nightstand, the iron water cup—washed clean but still coated in a layer of stubborn grease—toppled over.

Cold water splashed all over the floor.

Lin Xingwan's eyes snapped open.

Her gaze was clear, and her sleepiness vanished instantly.

"What's going on?"

She rolled out of bed.

She was completely naked, her fair skin covered in the bruises and fingerprints left from the night before.

Huo Yuan had also woken up.

He was shirtless, his back covered in red scratches left by her fingernails from the night before.

He rolled out of bed, casually pulled on his trousers, and cursed under his breath.

"Damn it."

"Boss! Sister-in-law! It's bad!"

Lu Ting's booming voice exploded outside the door, accompanied by frantic pounding.

"Bang, bang, bang!"

The door panel was being slapped so hard it thundered.

"Spit it out!"

Huo Yuan walked over and yanked the door open.

His face was so foul he looked like he wanted to kill someone; the frustration of being interrupted in the morning left his cheeks somewhat twisted.

Lu Ting stood at the doorway.

He still had a toothbrush in his mouth, his lips covered in white toothpaste foam.

He spoke indistinctly.

"Below... the protective net below is in trouble!"

He wiped the foam from the corner of his mouth.

"Something is ramming the flood defense net, and the commotion is as loud as an earthquake!"

Lin Xingwan had already put on her black tactical vest.

She walked out while fastening her tactical belt.

"What is it?" she asked in a cold voice.

"I don't know!"

Lu Ting was so anxious he was dancing on the spot, his loose military boots slipping on the floor.

"Engineer Zhao saw a huge dark shadow on the surveillance, it's as big as a damn plane on the tarmac!"

"Go check the surveillance."

Lin Xingwan's eyes sharpened.

She patted Huo Yuan's arm and strode toward the Central Control Room.

In the air, the foul stench of mud, sand, and dead fish seemed even heavier than yesterday.

The new natural disaster brought by the torrential rain had finally bared its fangs.

On the big screen in the Central Control Room.

In the infrared surveillance footage from the third level underwater, a massive dark shadow, over a dozen meters long and covered in hard scales, was slowly swimming through the murky water.

Every time it lashed its tail, it slammed heavily against the base's outermost titanium alloy flood defense net.

"Clang!"

"Boss, what... what kind of monster is this?"

Qian Duoduo lay sprawled in front of the control console.

He was holding an unfinished apple, so scared that he didn't even bother to pick it up when it dropped to the floor and got covered in dust.

Lin Xingwan stepped forward.

She stared at the massive dark shadow on the screen, a dangerous glimmer flashing in her eyes.

"It's mutated."

She licked the corner of her lips, her voice extremely soft.

"It seems this 'big fish' under the water couldn't wait to come knocking."

Huo Yuan walked up behind her.

He looked down at her, the corners of his lips curling into a cruel arc.

"Wanwan."

Huo Yuan rested his hand on the hilt of the knife at his waist.

"Shall we have fish head and tofu soup tonight?"
