86: Chapter 86 Semi-Bio-Mechanical Leader?
"How strong is that monster?" Chen Chen turned around.
"Very strong."
Blood Rose didn't hesitate, "His mechanical skeleton is made of high-grade damping alloy. Ordinary bullets can't even leave a white mark on it. He can also release high-frequency electromagnetic pulses that can paralyze all electronic equipment. Most terrifying is his speed, faster than a cheetah."
High-grade damping alloy.
Electromagnetic pulses, extremely fast.
Chen Chen sketched a combat model of his opponent in his mind.
Electromagnetic pulses might affect the Ghost Fortress, but they were useless against him personally.
Although damping alloy was hard, it wasn't uncuttable before his nearly one hundred points of constitution and his Armor-Piercing Military Dagger.
"Do you want to live?" Chen Chen pulled over a chair and sat down with a commanding air.
Blood Rose froze for half a second, then nodded frantically.
"I do! I want to more than anything! That monster's temperament is unpredictable; I live in fear every day. Who knows when he'll lose interest in me and dig out my brains to eat."
"If you want to escape, cooperate with me."
Chen Chen pointed at the remains of the clothes on the floor. "Get dressed. Take me to see him."
Blood Rose's eyes widened.
She thought Chen Chen would retreat after hearing all this and find a way to sneak away.
She didn't expect this man was actually going to his death.
"Are you crazy? That's the underground core area! It's full of defensive traps and mechanical guards he set up. You're going alone..."
"Shut up." Chen Chen interrupted her. "You just need to do as I say. Tell him you caught a top-quality prey and want to play with it yourself for a couple of days before presenting it to him."
Blood Rose shuddered.
She saw an absolute confidence and madness in Chen Chen's eyes.
This man truly intended to slaughter that semi-biochemical cyborg.
She had no choice.
If she resisted Chen Chen, she would be crushed to death right now.
Taking Chen Chen there might offer a sliver of hope.
The electronic door of the private suite made a soft click.
The few Raiderss waiting outside perked up, raising their guns and peering inside.
The cold light of the corridor hit the doorway.
Blood Rose walked out first.
She had changed into a brand-new deep-V black leather outfit, her wine-red curly hair draped casually.
After last night's madness, her face bore an abnormal flush, and the corners of her eyes and brows exuded a well-nourished charm.
But looking closely, her walking posture was unnatural, and her legs were trembling slightly.
The Raiderss exchanged a knowing look.
The Big Sis's battle was intense.
Immediately after, Chen Chen was led out.
The tattered tactical vest on him was even more torn, with almost only a few strips of cloth hanging from his shoulders, revealing a large area of firm chest and abdominal muscles.
His hands were tied behind his back with a heavy steel chain, the other end of which was held by Blood Rose.
Chen Chen kept his head down, his steps unsteady and his breathing heavy, appearing as if his physical strength had been drained and he had lost the ability to resist.
"Big Sis, you're mighty!"
The burly bald man with a fleshy face stepped forward and gave a thumbs up.
"This kid looked pretty arrogant last night, but he was still brought to heel by Big Sis."
Blood Rose gave him a cold glance, forcing herself to maintain the air of a high-and-mighty queen.
"Less talk. Get out of the way."
The bald man chuckled twice and stepped aside.
He glanced at Chen Chen out of the corner of his eye, muttering to himself.
This kid is lucky to have survived a night on the water bed.
But looking at his weak state, he probably won't survive tonight.
"Big Sis, where are you taking him?" the bald man asked inquisitively.
"To the basement. To see the 'Boss'." Blood Rose's tone was stiff.
The bald man's expression changed, and fear flashed in his eyes.
Very few core members in the camp knew of the "Boss's" existence underground; he was a monster that devoured people without leaving a trace.
Blood Rose tugged the chain in her hand, and Chen Chen stumbled forward.
The two passed through a long steel corridor and arrived at a heavy-duty freight elevator.
Blood Rose entered a long string of complex commands on the keypad and performed an iris scan.
*Creak—* The heavy iron doors of the freight elevator pulled open to both sides.
The two stepped into the freight elevator.
The doors closed, cutting off the view from outside.
The freight elevator began to descend.
With no outsiders around, Blood Rose's tense nerves relaxed slightly.
She leaned against the elevator wall, stealing a glance at Chen Chen beside her.
Chen Chen stood upright, showing no sign of his previous weakness.
Although his hands were tied behind his back with chains, he could break the steel chain whenever he wanted.
With his eyes slightly closed, he was conducting tactical communication with Shen Wanbing outside in his mind.
"Chen Chen, Radar scans show you are descending rapidly. The depth exceeds fifty meters underground."
Shen Wanbing's calm voice came through the miniature communicator in his back molar.
"There is strong electromagnetic interference in the underground area, and my detection range is limited. Be careful."
"Received. How's the situation outside?" Chen Chen replied with a barely audible guttural sound.
"Jiang Yanxue and Qin Hongye are in position. As long as the camp's anti-aircraft artillery system is paralyzed, we can rush in to support at any time."
"Wait for my signal."
Chen Chen cut off the communication and opened his eyes.
The freight elevator came to a halt.
The iron doors opened.
A pungent smell of machine oil mixed with a strong scent of blood rushed toward them.
What met their eyes was a massive underground space.
The surrounding walls were all cold metal armor, with various thick pipes crisscrossing and clinging to the ceiling like spider webs.
A pale green mist filled the air.
On both sides of the passage stood two rows of fully armed mechanical guards.
They looked like humans, but their limbs were all replaced with metal prosthetics, and their red mechanical eyes emitted a cold light.
They held large-caliber energy rifles in their hands.
Blood Rose's palm, which was clutching the chain, was covered in sweat.
She took a deep breath and stepped out of the freight elevator.
Chen Chen followed behind, his gaze sweeping over these mechanical guards.
There were about twenty of them.
Their movements were somewhat stiff; they should be low-level mass-produced models, nothing to fear.
The real threat was the door at the deepest part of this underground space.
It was a door cast from heavy damping alloy, covered with complex electronic patterns.
Blood Rose walked to the door and bowed her head respectfully.
"Master, I've brought new prey."
There was no sound from inside the door.
A moment later, a heavy grinding sound echoed.
The door slid open to both sides.
The space inside was arranged in an extremely bizarre manner.
On one side was an operating table piled with various precision instruments and mechanical parts, and on the other were high piles of bleached white bones.
Some bones still had traces of uncleaned flesh on them.
In the center of the room stood a massive metal chair.
On the chair sat a gargantuan figure.
Chen Chen narrowed his eyes, sizing up the true controller of this camp.
It was a semi-biochemical cyborg over two and a half meters tall.
The left side of his body retained human characteristics—pale, thin, with skin covered in blue veins.
While the right side of his body was entirely composed of black metal and gears.
His right eye was a mechanical prosthetic eye emitting red light, and a thick mechanical arm rested casually on the armrest of the chair, with faint blue light dancing on the fingertips.
The most hair-raising part was his head.
His skull had been replaced by a transparent glass dome, through which the pulsing brain matter inside could be clearly seen.
Several tubes connected his brain to the life-support system behind him.
The semi-biochemical cyborg turned his head, his red prosthetic eye locking onto Chen Chen.
"High-purity energy reaction. A perfect physical vessel."
The cyborg produced an electronically synthesized voice, harsh and unpleasant.
"Blood Rose, you've done well this time."
Blood Rose suppressed her fear and forced a smile, "I'm glad Master is satisfied. However..."
"However what?" The cyborg's voice turned cold.
"This prey is very much to my liking."
Following the lines Chen Chen had taught her, Blood Rose swayed her hips with feigned charm.
"I want to keep him for myself for a couple more days. Once I've had my fill of fun, I'll present him to Master. Would that be alright?"
The left side of the cyborg's face twitched, revealing a cruel smile.
"Woman, you're becoming increasingly bold."
He stood up, his massive metal body stepping on the floor with heavy thuds.
"Have you forgotten your place? You are merely a dog I keep. What right does a dog have to bargain with its master?"
Blood Rose stepped back in fright, her face turning deathly pale.
The cyborg approached step by step, his red prosthetic eye flashing with a dangerous light.
"Leave the person. You can get lost."
Blood Rose turned to look at Chen Chen, her eyes full of panic.
This wasn't how the script was written.
This monster didn't buy it at all.
Chen Chen sighed.
Playing games with this kind of dehumanized monster was a waste of time.
*Snap.* A crisp sound of metal breaking echoed.
That steel chain, as thick as an infant's arm, was snapped by Chen Chen with brute force, and the iron links scattered across the floor.
The cyborg's steps faltered.
His red prosthetic eye rotated rapidly, scanning Chen Chen's data.
"Strength exceeds estimated value. Danger level rising." The cyborg's voice became cold.
Chen Chen loosened his wrists and cracked his neck.
Looking up at the semi-biochemical cyborg who was more than half a body taller than him, he curled his lips into a cold arc.
"Eating brains? I'm afraid your teeth aren't strong enough to bite through me."
