122: Chapter 122 The God of Shattering
The lab's emergency lights flickered in the thick smoke. Under the dark red light, the metal walls were scorched with spiderweb-like cracks, and deep within the cracks, the residual heat of the light sphere energy remained, like streaks of solidified lightning. The air was filled with a pungent, charred smell, mixed with the sweet, fishy scent of volatilized reagents from broken bottles. Every breath carried a burning sting, and even the dust floating in mid-air was being buffeted about by the energy impact.
Kate was half-kneeling on the ground, her thin lab coat already soaked with sweat, clinging tightly to her back and outlining her silhouette, which was slightly curled from intense pain. Her left arm was no longer its familiar skin tone; pale blue crystals climbed from her fingertips up to her forearm like cold vines, tightly strangling every inch of her skin. The edges of the crystals shimmered with faint fluorescence, but they held no warmth, instead exuding a heart-wrenching chill. Every time the light sphere energy pulsed weakly within her, it felt like countless fine needles pricking her meridians, causing her whole body to tremble, her very fingertips spasming uncontrollably. And with each fluctuation of energy, the crystals would spread another fraction and harden another degree.
“Kate!”
Lin Fan's voice carried undisguised panic. He stumbled as he rushed over, reaching out to steady her shoulders, but before his fingertips could touch her clothes, he was violently repelled by a surge of wild light sphere energy. He slammed heavily against the lab bench behind him with a dull thud. His chest heaved, and a metallic, fishy taste surged up his throat, which he forced back down. The reagent bottles on the bench were knocked precariously, then shattered one after another, spilling colorful liquids that flowed and mixed on the floor, emitting white smoke and further intensifying the chaos in the lab.
“Don't come over...” Kate's voice trembled, every word squeezed out from between her teeth. She raised her head, her eyes rimmed with red. Her once clear and bright eyes were now filled with fear and helplessness she couldn't control. “I can't control it... It's eating my energy. If you get any closer, you'll get hurt.”
No sooner had she finished speaking than the crystals on her left arm pulsed violently again, and a blinding pale blue light erupted from the gaps, instantly illuminating the entire laboratory. The lab's glassware shattered in response, and the metal racks groaned under the strain, as if they were about to collapse at any second. Franklin's holographic projection flickered wildly in mid-air; the once-stable blue light became intermittent, and countless data streams scrolled across his projection so fast they became blurred afterimages. Even his voice was distorted with electrical static, sounding exceptionally urgent.
[Warning! Warning! Light sphere core stability has fallen below critical levels! Energy index continues to surge abnormally!]
[Crystallization speed detected to have increased, spreading to the elbow area; expected to erode the heart region within half an hour!]
[Energy fluctuations are about to trigger a secondary explosion. If it goes out of control again, the entire laboratory will be vaporized, and a hundred-meter radius will be turned into scorched earth!]
Franklin's warning echoed through the lab, each word landing like a boulder on Lin Fan's heart. Watching Kate curled in agony and seeing the continuously spreading crystals, his heart felt tightly gripped by an invisible hand, causing him pain that made it hard to breathe. He stood up abruptly, ignoring his own pain, ripped off his black coat, and walked quickly to Kate's side, carefully wrapping it around her crystallizing hand.
The fabric of the coat, imbued with his body heat, attempted to dispel the chill of the crystals, but the temperature of the crystals was bone-chillingly low, like holding a dying star core. The cold spread from his fingertips up his arm and to his heart, making him shiver involuntarily. But he did not let go; instead, he held on tighter, his eyes filled with unprecedented determination, as if he intended to melt the cold crystals with his own body heat.
“Dark Matter Stabilizer.” Lin Fan looked up, his gaze sweeping across the chaotic lab before falling back on Kate's pale face. His voice was cold, leaving no room for retreat. “Only this thing can temporarily lock the energy spread, stop the crystals from continuing to grow, and save her life.”
It wasn't that he hadn't heard the rumors about the Dark Matter Stabilizer. It was a prohibited drug on the black market, a dangerous substance strictly banned by the Interstellar Alliance. It could indeed suppress violent energy and stabilize physical mutations, but the side effects were equally lethal—it eroded a person's psyche and devoured their humanity. Long-term use would cause a person to lose their emotions, turning them into a soulless walking corpse. But now, he had no other choice. On one side was Kate's life, and on the other were the unknown side effects. He had no choice but to choose the former, even if the price was her losing part of her humanity, and even if the price was that he himself would have to break into the perilous black market—he would not hesitate.
“Are you crazy?”
A shrill voice suddenly rang out, filled with anger and disbelief. Kate Ling rushed over almost immediately, blocking Lin Fan's path to Kate. Her small body was tensed straight, like a young beast protecting its young. Her eyes, filled with unprecedented sharpness and resistance, stared fixedly at Lin Fan as if looking at a stranger. “That's a black market prohibited drug! Don't you know its side effects? It erodes the spirit and devours humanity! Even if she survives after using it, she won't be Kate anymore! She will forget us, forget everything, and become a monster without feelings!”
Kate Ling's voice carried a sob, yet she stubbornly held her back straight. She remembered AKai, remembered how AKai had once warned her that dark matter-type agents were all devils, and once touched, there was no turning back. She couldn't let Kate become like that. Even if Kate were to die because of it, she didn't want Kate to live as a monster—that wasn't the Kate she knew, not the Kate who would gently talk to her, protect her when she was scared, and dote on her like a younger sister.
“If we don't use it, she'll explode right now!” Lin Fan's voice rose a few notches, his tone filled with repressed anger and helplessness. This was the first time he had spoken to Kate Ling in such a harsh tone. “Do you think I want her to use a prohibited drug? Do you think I want her to turn into a monster? But right now, except for the Dark Matter Stabilizer, nothing can save her! Half an hour, only half an hour, and the crystals will erode her heart. By then, even a god couldn't save her!”
“That's still better than becoming a walking corpse!” Kate Ling retorted without backing down, tears finally spilling over, rolling down her cheeks and dripping onto the back of Kate's hand. “Teacher said that to live, one must have dignity and feelings. If those are gone, what is the meaning of living? I would rather Kate die with dignity than live like a monster!”
“Dignity?” Lin Fan laughed self-deprecatingly, his eyes also reddening. “Without life, how can there be dignity? As long as she is alive, there is still hope, still a possibility of finding an antidote! If she dies, there is nothing left! Kate Ling, you are too naive. In the face of life and death, dignity is worthless!”
“I'm not naive! You're just too selfish!” Kate Ling roared. “You just want her to live, even if she turns into a monster, you don't care! You haven't considered her feelings at all!”
The argument exploded in the cramped ruins, both sides sticking to their guns, their tones becoming increasingly intense, their eyes filled with anger and grievance. Lin Fan's anger stemmed from Kate Ling's immaturity, from the fact that there was a glimmer of hope, yet she wanted to extinguish it with her own hands. Kate Ling's anger stemmed from Lin Fan's “cruelty,” from the fact that to keep Kate alive, he was willing to sacrifice her humanity. They were both thinking of Kate, but because their philosophies differed, they were locked in a fierce dispute. Neither of them noticed that Kate, whom they were protecting in the middle, had the pain and despair in her eyes deepening bit by bit.
Kate quietly watched the two people arguing in front of her, listening to them quarrel until their faces were red over her own life and death. Her heart felt both warm and painful. She knew that both Lin Fan and Kate Ling were doing this for her own good. Lin Fan wanted her to live; Kate Ling wanted her to live with dignity. But they didn't know how she felt at this moment—the pain of her body being slowly devoured by the crystals and her energy drained bit by bit, the despair of watching herself turn into a monster, was more terrifying than death itself.
She didn't want to become a monster, didn't want to hurt anyone, and even less did she want Lin Fan to break into the perilous black market to save her, or for Kate Ling to turn against Lin Fan because of her. She didn't want them to see her eventually become a monster.
Perhaps, death was the best release.
Once this thought arose, it grew wildly in her heart like a vine. She quietly loosened the hand Lin Fan was holding. The chill of the crystals instantly enveloped her fingertips, but she felt no pain, only a sense of calm like liberation. Taking advantage of the fact that Lin Fan and Kate Ling were arguing fiercely and hadn't noticed her, she slowly, slowly stood up. Her footsteps were as light as a feather, and she walked step by step toward the breach in the laboratory.
Her footsteps were light and slow. Every step seemed to exhaust all her strength. The crystals on her left arm continued to spread, almost reaching her shoulder, but she did not pause at all. She knew that if she left like this, she might never come back, but she did not look back. She didn't want to see Lin Fan and Kate Ling's sad faces, didn't want to hear their pleas to stay, and definitely didn't want them to see her final, disheveled state.
By the time Lin Fan sensed something was wrong and turned back abruptly, there was only a thin, resolute figure at the breach of the laboratory, fading bit by bit into the night under the dark red emergency light, as if she had never appeared.
“Kate!”
Lin Fan's heart suddenly went empty, and a strong panic instantly swept over him. He didn't even have time to argue with Kate Ling; he turned and rushed toward the breach, his voice filled with unprecedented panic and roaring, “Kate! Come back! Don't run!”
Kate Ling was also stunned. She looked at the empty breach and the back of Lin Fan as he rushed out, and her tears fell even harder. She had been too agitated just now, too fixated on her own ideas, and had neglected Kate's emotions and that look of despair in Kate's eyes. She knew Kate didn't want to drag them down and wanted to face death alone.
“Sister Kate...” Kate Ling bit her lip, wiped the tears from her face, and immediately followed. Her small figure chased into the night in the direction Lin Fan had disappeared. “Wait for me, don't leave us behind!”
Franklin's holographic projection still flickered in mid-air, data still scrolling, but he no longer issued any warnings. He just quietly watched the direction the two had disappeared. In the blue light, there seemed to be a hint of indescribable, complex emotion—a kind of concern and helplessness for life that belonged to an AI, yet transcended it. He was silent for a moment, eventually turning into a beam of blue light, merging into Lin Fan's communicator, constantly monitoring the surrounding energy fluctuations, providing them with guidance, and acting as their guardian.
The night was deep, and the evening wind howled.
On the edge of the cliff, the gale whipped up gravel and whistled past, like countless wild beasts roaring. The clouds hung very low, so thick they were suffocating. The city lights in the distance were blurred in the thick fog, like weak fireflies that could be extinguished by the gale at any moment. Below the cliff was bottomless darkness, like a giant black hole waiting to swallow anything that approached it.
Kate stood alone on the edge of the cliff, her thin figure trembling slightly in the gale, as if she would be swept away by the wind the next second. Her left arm was completely covered by crystals, spreading from her fingertips to her shoulder. The pale blue crystals shimmered with cold fluorescence in the night, casting a blue hue over half her body. The edges of the crystals had begun to become sharp; if they accidentally touched the rock, they would leave a deep scratch.
She slightly raised her crystallized hand, her fingertips gently touching the inconspicuous necklace at her throat. It was a very simple silver necklace, without flashy decorations, only a small, polished light sphere pendant. It was something Lin Fan had given her a long time ago. Back then, they hadn't experienced so many hardships, hadn't faced so many life-and-death tests. Back then, they were simple and happy, thinking that as long as they were with each other, there was no difficulty they couldn't overcome.
But now, everything had changed.
The seal of the Shadow had brought a brief peace, but this peace was so fragile, so vulnerable. Because of the energy depletion during the sealing of the Shadow, her body had mutated. The crystallization speed was getting faster and faster, and the energy was becoming more violent, potentially going out of control at any time, potentially turning her into a monster that destroyed everything. She didn't want to drag Lin Fan down, didn't want to drag Kate Ling down, and especially didn't want the academy, which had just experienced the flames of war, to fall into crisis again because of her.
“If this is the end...” Kate whispered to the wind, her voice as light as a sigh, almost inaudible as it was carried away by the howling gale. “At least let me leave clearly.”
She tilted her head slightly, looking at the thick clouds, her eyes rimmed with red, and tears finally couldn't be held back. The tears slid down her cheeks, dripped onto the back of her crystallized hand, and were instantly frozen by the chill of the crystals, turning into a small ice bead that rolled off the cliff and disappeared into the endless darkness.
She thought of Lin Fan, thought of how he would always stand in front of her at the first moment whenever she was in danger; she thought of how he would silently accompany her when she was sad, not saying too many words, but using his own way to give her warmth and strength; she thought of when he gave her this necklace and said seriously, “Kate, with me here from now on, I won't let you suffer any harm.”
However, he ultimately failed to protect her well.
She also thought of Kate Ling, thought of the little girl who would always stubbornly follow behind her and call her “Sister Kate”; she thought of the desperate and helpless look in Kate Ling's eyes after AKai died; she thought of how Kate Ling, even though she was very scared herself, would still gather the courage to protect her.
She also thought of AKai, thought of the person who was always smiling, seemingly carefree, but had always been silently protecting them. AKai's death had always been a scar in her heart. She had always thought that AKai sacrificed himself to protect them, but in her heart, there was always a faint uneasiness, a feeling that AKai's death might not have been that simple.
But now, she had no time to investigate this.
She slowly closed her eyes, took a deep breath, feeling the gale whistling past her ears, feeling the crystals spreading bit by bit in her body, feeling her life slipping away bit by bit. She was ready, ready to jump and end it all, end her pain, and end being a burden to Lin Fan and Kate Ling.
Just as she bent slightly, ready to jump off the cliff, a light sound of footsteps came from behind her.
The footsteps were light and steady, not like Lin Fan's rush, nor like Kate Ling's panic, carrying a sense of composure that was exceptionally clear in the howling gale.
[part:gemini-3.0-flash]
Kate didn't look back, assuming it was Lin Fan chasing after her. A trace of warmth rose in her heart, but it was outweighed by despair and guilt. She didn't want Lin Fan to see her as she was now, didn't want him to witness the moment she threw herself off the cliff, and didn't want him to endure the pain of losing her.
"I won't use that medicine," she said calmly, her voice devoid of any ripples, as if she had already made peace with life and death. "Go back. Don't waste any more time on me; I'm not worth it."
She expected to hear Lin Fan's urgent pleas to stay or his hoarse roars from behind her, but what she heard instead was a male voice—unfamiliar yet strangely familiar, deep and raspy, carrying an indescribable sense of world-weariness.
"He indeed wouldn't let you use it."
Kate's eyes snapped open, her body stiffening as an expression of disbelief crossed her face. She had a vague memory of hearing this voice somewhere, but she couldn't place it for the moment. She slowly turned around and looked behind her.
In the night, a tall figure stood not far away, wearing a black trench coat iconic of the Black Market. The coat flapped loudly in the gale, outlining his upright yet mysterious silhouette. A half-mask covered his nose and mouth, leaving only a pair of deep eyes visible. Those eyes held no emotion, like a bottomless pool of water that made it impossible to read his thoughts.
In the man's hand was a reagent tube containing a dark purple liquid. The tube emitted an eerie glow in the night—the distinct color of Dark Matter Stabilizer. He slowly raised his hand and removed his glove, revealing a long, pale hand. With a gentle tap of his fingertip, an old photograph was projected into the air.
The photo was somewhat yellowed, clearly many years old. In the picture, AKai was wearing a casual jacket, laughing lightheartedly with one arm around the man beside him and the other hand flashing a peace sign, his eyes full of sunshine and a free-spirited nature. And the man AKai was hugging was the very person standing before her wearing the half-mask—though his features had changed over the years, those eyes were exactly the same as in the photo.
Kate's pupils constricted suddenly and her heart gave a violent thud, her face filled with shock. She finally remembered where she had seen this voice and these eyes—it was in AKai's old photo album. There was a group photo of AKai and his friend. AKai had once told her that he was his best friend, someone who spent most of the year working in the Black Market and rarely returned.
"You... you're AKai's friend?" Kate's voice trembled with disbelief. She instinctively took a step back, and the crystals on her left arm flashed violently again due to her emotional turbulence. "How can you be here? How do you have Dark Matter Stabilizer?"
The man didn't answer her questions. He only gave a faint smile, which was hidden by the mask, leaving only the curve of his eyes visible, carrying a trace of indescribable and complex emotion. He lightly raised his hand and tossed the reagent tube containing the dark purple liquid over. The movement was gentle yet precise, landing right in Kate's hand.
The reagent tube felt ice-cold in her hand, just like her crystallized arm. The dark purple liquid sloshed slowly inside, emitting an eerie glow that sent shivers down one's spine. Kate gripped the tube tightly, her fingertips turning slightly white from the force. Her heart was filled with doubt and unease—who exactly was this man? Why was he giving her Dark Matter Stabilizer? And what did his words mean?
Just then, Lin Fan and Little Kate arrived. Their expressions turned solemn the moment they saw the stranger standing before Kate and the Dark Matter Stabilizer in her hand. Lin Fan immediately rushed forward, shielding Kate. He stared at the man with a wary gaze, his muscles taut and ready to respond to any sudden situation.
"Who are you?" Lin Fan's voice was cold and filled with intense wariness. "What are you trying to do? Why do you have Dark Matter Stabilizer? What are your intentions toward Kate?"
He could feel a powerful aura emanating from the man—not the ferocity of an Interstellar Pirate, nor the gentleness of an academy mentor, but a coldness and ruthlessness honed by years of surviving in the Black Market and witnessing life and death. He didn't know the man's objective or his relationship with AKai; he only knew that this man was dangerous, and he couldn't let Kate come to any harm.
Little Kate also hid behind Lin Fan, clutching his shirt tightly. She stared at the man warily, but her heart held a trace of confusion. She looked at the old photo projected in the air, at the man laughing as brightly as AKai, and a sense of familiarity rose within her—she seemed to have seen this photo among AKai's old belongings.
The man looked at Lin Fan shielding Kate, then at Little Kate hiding behind him. The smile at the corners of his mouth deepened, and a flicker of indiscernible complex emotion flashed in his eyes. He didn't answer Lin Fan's question, but simply raised his hand slowly and pointed at the reagent tube in Kate's hand. He said in a flat tone, "That is the Dark Matter Stabilizer you want. It can temporarily stabilize her crystallization and save her life."
"Why are you giving it to us?" Lin Fan remained wary, not relaxing in the slightest. "There's no such thing as a free lunch. What do you really want?"
"I don't want anything." The man shook his head, his tone still flat. But then, his gaze swept over Lin Fan, Kate, and Little Kate. He slowly lowered his voice, speaking each word with a raspy clarity that pierced through the howling wind and reached their ears.
"Don't be in such a hurry to thank me. Remember one thing—"
"AKai's death... wasn't that simple."
With those words, the man stopped lingering and turned to walk into the depths of the night. His long black trench coat flapped in the gale as his figure grew more distant and faint, eventually vanishing into the endless darkness as if he had never appeared, leaving only a faint, lingering scent in the air.
The wind suddenly tightened, swirling up debris as it howled past, as if to carve that sentence into the hearts of the three people.
Atop the cliff, all was silent.
Lin Fan, Kate, and Little Kate stood silently in place, their faces etched with shock. No one spoke; only the howling wind echoed continuously in their ears. The man's final words were like a heavy bomb exploding in their hearts, stirring up massive waves.
AKai's death wasn't that simple?
This sentence echoed repeatedly in their minds, every word carrying a heavy weight that made it hard for them to breathe. They had always believed that AKai had sacrificed himself to protect them and stop Shadow's conspiracy, but now, a single sentence from this man had completely overturned their understanding.
What was the hidden truth behind AKai's death? Who was this man? Why did he know the truth about AKai's death? Was he giving them the Dark Matter Stabilizer out of kindness, or did he have other motives?
Countless questions rose in their hearts, yet there were no answers.
Kate gripped the dark purple reagent tube tightly, her fingertips turning white from the pressure. The crystals on her arm seemed to have stopped spreading because of her emotional fluctuations. She looked in the direction where the man had disappeared, her eyes full of doubt and confusion, along with a faint, indiscernible spark of hope—she wanted to know what secret was hidden behind AKai's death; she wanted to know what else this man knew.
Lin Fan also stood in place, his brow furrowed deeply and his gaze solemn as he fell into deep thought. He looked at the Dark Matter Stabilizer in Kate's hand and then thought of the man's final words, his heart filled with unease. He knew that AKai's death might truly hide an unknown secret, and this secret was very likely linked in a thousand ways to Shadow's conspiracy and Kate's physical mutation.
What made him even more uneasy was what this man's appearance signified. Was it a blessing or a curse? Was giving them the Dark Matter Stabilizer an act of help, or was it meant to drag them into an even larger trap?
Little Kate hid behind Lin Fan, her small body trembling slightly, her eyes full of fear and confusion. She thought of AKai, of the way he looked when he sacrificed himself, and of the promise she had once made to find the truth about his death and avenge him. But now, as the tip of the iceberg of truth slowly surfaced, she felt an unprecedented fear—she didn't know what darkness was hidden behind this truth, nor did she know if they had the courage to face it.
The night grew thicker and the clouds heavier, as if to shroud the entire world in darkness. Below the cliff remained a bottomless void, the howling wind sounding like it was whispering unknown secrets.
Kate looked down at the Dark Matter Stabilizer in her hand, then at Lin Fan and Little Kate beside her. The confusion in her eyes was gradually replaced by determination. She knew that regardless of what secret was hidden behind AKai's death, what the man's objective was, or how terrifying the side effects of the Dark Matter Stabilizer were, she had to live.
She had to live to find the truth about AKai's death and avenge him; she had to live to stay with Lin Fan and Little Kate so they wouldn't worry about her anymore; she had to live to fight Shadow's conspiracy and protect everything they cherished.
Even if the price of living was losing her humanity and becoming a soulless monster, she would not hesitate.
Kate slowly raised her hand and held out the reagent tube containing the dark purple liquid to Lin Fan, her gaze firm as she said, "Lin Fan, I'll use it."
Lin Fan looked up into Kate's determined eyes and then at the cold crystals on her arm, feeling a sharp pang in his heart. He knew how much courage it took for Kate to make this decision; he also knew what this decision meant. But he didn't refuse, because he knew this was currently the only way to save Kate's life and their only hope.
He reached out and took the reagent tube, gripping it tightly. Looking firmly at Kate, he said word by word, "Kate, trust me. I will definitely find a cure. I will make you normal again and free you from all of this. No matter the cost, I won't let you become a monster, and I won't let you come to any harm."
Watching them, Little Kate's tears fell again, but this time she didn't object. She just silently walked to Kate's side and gently took her non-crystallized hand, her voice choked with emotion. "Sister Kate, I'm sorry. I was too headstrong just now. Don't worry, no matter what you become, I will always stay with you. Together, we'll find the cure and the truth about Teacher AKai's death."
Kate looked at Lin Fan and Little Kate beside her, at their determined gazes and the way they worried for her, and her heart was filled with warmth. She nodded gently, her tears falling once more—this time, they were tears of gratitude.
She knew she wasn't fighting alone. She had Lin Fan, Little Kate, Franklin, and all those who cared for and protected her. They would always be with her, facing all difficulties and dangers together.
The wind continued to howl and the night remained deep, but atop the cliff, there was now a trace of warmth and a glimmer of hope.
A broken god, a life hanging in the balance, a foreshadowing enough to overturn the entire past, and three figures standing side-by-side—together they sank into the night. They knew a new adventure was about to begin; they knew the road ahead would be filled with danger and hardship; but they knew even better that as long as they had each other's company and trust, there was no difficulty they couldn't overcome, and no darkness they couldn't dispel.
Lin Fan gripped the Dark Matter Stabilizer tightly, gazing solemnly into the depths of the night. He knew the trip to the Black Market would be fraught with peril, but he didn't retreat in the slightest. For Kate, for Little Kate, to find the truth about AKai's death, and to protect everything they cherished, he was willing to plunge into that darkness and face all dangers, even if it meant being crushed to pieces.
Meanwhile, in the depths of the night, the man wearing the half-mask stood atop a tall building, quietly watching the direction of the cliff, his eyes filled with complex emotions. He took out a communicator and said in a low voice, "The target has obtained the Dark Matter Stabilizer. Proceed with the next step as planned. We will definitely avenge AKai; we won't let anyone who harmed us go."
From the other end of the communicator came a cold voice, tinged with impatience: "Don't waste time. Guide them to find what AKai left behind as soon as possible. Shadow's forces are growing stronger; we don't have much time. Remember, do not expose your identity. Once exposed, the entire plan will fall apart."
"I know," the man nodded, saying flatly, "I won't let AKai's sacrifice be in vain, nor will I let Shadow's conspiracy succeed."
With that, he hung up the communicator and looked toward the cliff again, a flash of determination and ruthlessness in his eyes. In the night, his figure appeared exceptionally mysterious, like a hunter hidden in the dark, waiting for the perfect moment to deliver a fatal blow to the enemy.
And atop the cliff, Lin Fan, Kate, and Little Kate remained in place. They didn't know that an even larger conspiracy was quietly brewing; they didn't know what changes the man in the half-mask would bring to their lives; and they certainly didn't know what earth-shattering secret was hidden behind AKai's death.
They only knew that from this moment on, their fates were tightly bound together. They had to fight side-by-side, charge forward bravely, find the whole truth, and protect each other to find their own way out in this chaotic galaxy and welcome true peace and hope.
The wind gradually died down and the clouds began to disperse. A faint sliver of moonlight pierced through the clouds, spilling onto the cliff, illuminating the three figures standing together and the path beneath their feet. Though the road ahead was still murky and danger still lurked, their gazes grew firmer and brighter.
A broken god will eventually find the hope of rebirth in the midst of desperation.
