81: Chapter 81 This Road Is Not That Road

"Hubby, come look at this bear! It's actually waving at me!"

Outside the enclosure, Xu Wei held a carrot in her hand, her eyes fixed on the bear in front of her as she spoke to him excitedly.

After waiting a few seconds without hearing her man's voice, she reluctantly looked away from the bear and turned back with a look of confusion.

She scanned her surroundings; if her eyesight hadn't been decent, she might not have spotted him at all.

She saw her man under a large tree ahead, making some sort of gurgling sound—she had no idea what he was doing!

Curious, she slowly walked over, only to be left completely speechless by the scene before her.

Xu Wei pressed a hand to her forehead, thinking to herself that it was fortunate the zoo wasn't crowded right now, otherwise she'd pretend she didn't even know him.

"You silly husband, isn't that gross? Why on earth are you spitting at an alpaca!"

Li Luo felt cheated. The internet was full of lies; his mouth was almost dry from spitting, yet the 'Grass Your Horse' in front of him completely ignored him.

Turning around to see Xu Wei behind him, Li Luo quickly waved her over.

Xu Wei walked up somewhat helplessly, muttering under her breath.

"Hubby, let's just go feed the Giraffes and then head back!"

"Wait a bit on the Giraffes. I'm telling you, Weiwei, this zoo isn't up to snuff. This Grass Your Horse doesn't know how to spit!"

Hearing this, Xu Wei was truly defeated by her silly man. She wondered why she had ended up with such a neurotic husband.

Of course, this might also be one of the reasons why she loved him so dearly!

Thinking this, she spoke in a very gentle tone.

"Silly hubby, the alpacas in the zoo—or what you call Grass... Mud... Horses—hubby, I'm not cursing at you, really! If you don't believe me, watch me, pfft..."

Li Luo was speechless. I know you're not cursing at me, but was it really necessary to remind me?

And isn't it painful holding back that laughter?

Li Luo felt quite helpless.

"Just keep talking!"

Xu Wei quickly took a deep breath and continued.

"Because the alpacas in the zoo are often in contact with people and are trained by the keepers, they are generally very docile."

Li Luo nodded as the realization dawned on him.

"That's such a complicated explanation. You could have just said 'domesticated versus wild,' dummy."

Xu Wei felt like crying and laughing at the same time. She complained internally: 'With your IQ, if I didn't explain it clearly, you'd probably be up all night overthinking it.'

"Are you insulting me again? I can feel it."

Xu Wei rolled her eyes.

"Alright, silly hubby, let's go see the Giraffes. We'll go home after that."

After saying that, Xu Wei took her man's arm and pulled him forward.

Looking at the Giraffes inside the enclosure, Li Luo couldn't help but marvel. Now those were truly long legs.

Watching Xu Wei feed them leaves while letting out cheerful laughter,

Li Luo dazed out for a moment. This seemed to be the kind of life he truly wanted!

Going out to play together when they had free time, and occasionally bickering—isn't this the life most people long for?

"Hubby, what are you thinking about?"

"Nothing much, just thinking how great it is to have you."

Hearing this, Xu Wei was a bit surprised. A flash of deep affection appeared in her eyes as she whispered,

"Me too."

They spent about two hours wandering around the zoo.

By the time they came out, it was almost 5:30 PM.

After getting back into the car.

"Hubby, I'm hungry." Xu Wei took his hand and pressed it against her thigh, gently rubbing it as she acted spoiled.

Li Luo was startled.

"What can I do if you're hungry? We're in a car, big sister. Besides, the space in this car is really too small; I can't exactly perform here!"

Xu Wei was stunned. She was completely at a loss when dealing with this man.

"Hubby, I'm hungry up here, not down there!"

"Then why didn't you say so clearly? Why didn't you say it sooner?"

Xu Wei rolled her eyes, thinking, 'As if you didn't know. You're clearly doing it on purpose. What a drama king. If you weren't so kind-looking, I'd definitely drag you to act in movies; you'd probably be a hit.'

"Alright, hubby, it's my fault for not being clear. Let's go eat. You wouldn't have the heart to let your cute wife go hungry, would you?"

"It was your fault for not being clear in the first place. Tell me, what do you want to eat?"

Xu Wei looked at him, speechless. What a dog of a man, always pushing his luck.

"Hubby, let's just grab something quick to tide us over first. Tonight, I want to try the food at Jinling Hotel and see how it tastes. What do you say?"

"No problem." Li Luo thought about it and agreed. After all, he had never eaten at a five-star hotel before!

Even if it was just a five-star hotel in the county, it was still five stars. He didn't know how it would compare to a five-star hotel in the city.

Xu Wei set the navigation on her phone and said to him,

"Hubby, let's go. To this place."

Li Luo was curious.

"What are we going to eat? Why does the navigation keep talking about this alley and that alley?"

"I'm taking you to eat Eel Noodles. Hubby, don't you know that true delicacies are hidden in the nooks and crannies of every city?"

Li Luo actually agreed with that. Back when he was driving a ride-hailing car, he often went to an inconspicuous little noodle shop; the morning business there was so booming it was scary.

Li Luo hesitated.

"Weiwei, it's already dinner time. Won't we have to wait a long time?"

Xu Wei patted her chest and guaranteed,

"Don't worry. Parking is difficult there, so we'll have to walk a short distance. Besides, it's in the old district, so there won't be many people. Even if we have to wait, it won't be for long."

Li Luo was a bit puzzled.

"If that's the case, why didn't you take me there yesterday?"

Xu Wei looked a bit embarrassed.

"Because I wanted to eat steak yesterday."

"Uh, good explanation. Fine, eating it today is the same. Let's head out!"

About ten minutes later.

"Hubby, just park the car in this spot. We can't drive any further in."

"Okay." Li Luo parked the car, and the two of them got out. Xu Wei took his arm and walked toward the alley.

After entering the alley, Xu Wei led him through several turns. After walking for about seven or eight minutes, they finally reached their destination.

And wouldn't you know it, there were quite a lot of people. The few tables outside were already full.

After sizing up the place, Li Luo looked at her speechlessly.

"This is what you meant by 'not many people'?"

Xu Wei was a bit awkward.

"Hubby, let's wait a bit. There are no seats outside, so let's go straight inside. There are several long tables inside that can seat many people."

After saying that, she pulled him into the noodle shop. The space inside was indeed quite large.

There were also several empty seats. Li Luo figured it must have been two rooms merged together; otherwise, it wouldn't be so spacious.

Xu Wei said with a smile,

"Hubby, you noticed, right? The owner of the noodle shop specifically rented this room. After knocking through the wall, he set up several long tables."

Li Luo nodded. No wonder. When the time came, he would try it too—taking a different path.
