189: Director Li: I'm going crazy with my buffs, awesome!

Not long after, Wu Qiuqiu ran back, bouncing along in the eyes of Director Li and Director Wang.

"Bosses, it's all arranged. Those people are tourists, and there's a young girl from the village, but she doesn't know anything. Do you want them to clear out?"

He had figured out the leaders' temperaments. The lower-key things were at times like this, the better. So he estimated they definitely wouldn't chase people away.

Sure enough, Director Li shook his head after hearing this: "No need, it's fine if they're outsiders~"

After saying that, he stepped off the boat with one stride, and Director Wang followed closely behind.

Looking at the boat full of fishing gear, a happy Wu Qiuqiu shouldered the equipment and trailed after them.

Heavy? Not at all. This was a sign of approval from his two big daddies~

Everyone laughs at me, Wu Qiuqiu, but everyone wants to *be* me, Wu Qiuqiu. Can you do it?~

Just as they put down the gear and were about to get busy, they saw a tourist nearby hook a fish, which got Director Li incredibly excited.

"Whoa~"

Director Wang beside him didn't really understand what was happening but joined in the shouting.

"Whoa~"

Wu Qiuqiu looked utterly confused, but after seeing Director Wang gesturing to him, he understood. He said his goodbyes and drove the boat away.

On the way back, Wu Qiuqiu was exhilarated, the small boat speeding along. This moment really needed a background track!~

At this moment, he was burning with passion. Taking off was just around the corner!

...After watching for a while, Director Li returned to his fishing spot to find Director Wang had already beaten him to it and was starting to set up the Fishing Platform for him.

Had he watched all night yesterday for nothing?

Did you really think he was learning how to fish? No, he was learning *where* he could suck up!

For example, installing the Fishing Platform—this kind of physical labor that easily gets you wet—was something he could definitely be useful for!~

"Wow, this Fishing Platform looks really good." Director Li picked up his water bottle and took a sip, watching the busy Director Wang, and couldn't help but praise it.

"Hehe, no matter how good this platform is, it's meant for you to step on, Director Li. If it can help you catch a full net on it, that would be this platform's honor!"

Xiao Wang's flattery carried a deeper meaning, spoken with fawning sycophancy that greatly pleased Director Li beside him.

He hadn't known before that Xiao Wang was so good with words.

Director Li took a sip of water, glanced at the people nearby still playing a fish, then looked at Xiao Wang before him, smiled, and said.

"Xiao Wang, the organization is planning to give you more responsibilities recently~ You need to be prepared."

He hadn't known what Xiao Wang's thoughts were at first. This transfer, though at the same level, still offered a chance to push forward and climb another step.

But seeing Wu Qiuqiu today, he immediately understood. This Xiao Wang probably didn't really want to leave the current Tourism Bureau.

The still-busy Xiao Wang was overjoyed. The leader bringing this up himself meant there was room for negotiation, and a lot of it. If he played his cards right, it would probably succeed.

"If the organization gives me more responsibilities, I will not shirk them. It's an affirmation of my abilities."

Xiao Wang wore an expression of utmost righteousness, but then followed up with fawning words.

"But I'd rather go fishing with you, boss! You hook them, I'll net them, so you don't get fishy or dirty your hands!"

After hearing this, Director Li nodded with satisfaction. He knew how to play the game.

"Let's have a drink tonight, at that... Xiao Wu's place."

Xiao Wang was ecstatic. After all these years in the game, how could he not know? 'Having a drink' meant the deal was done. The only pity was that the kickbacks from a few Scenic Area B&Bs would probably have to be handed over, the majority going to his big daddy, Director Li.

But what did that matter? As long as he secured his position, he could just squeeze a bit more out of those bosses later~

While Xiao Wang was still celebrating, he heard Director Li say lightly.

"Getting fishy isn't scary. What's scary is not washing your hands clean~"

Xiao Wang quickly put down what he was doing and stood up. He knew Director Li was warning him.

"Boss, don't worry. We won't take fish that are too smelly."

Director Li nodded and smiled: "Alright, hurry up and set up the platform. I can't wait."

Xiao Wang's anxious heart settled, and he continued his work. Naturally, he had studied the platform installation last night too, but the clasp on the front left leg's lower part just didn't feel quite right.

Fortunately, it finally clicked into place. Xiao Wang leveled the platform, jumped on it, and tested it with a few stomps. Rock solid.

This Wu Qiuqiu really does good work~

Getting off the platform, Xiao Wang couldn't help but think.

Director Li, satisfied, picked up his fishing rod, stepped onto the platform to test it. Very stable. However, given his weight, and this being his first time using a platform, he still felt a bit uncertain inside.

Xiao Wang, watching from behind as Director Li started adjusting his float, hurriedly pulled out the Float Adjustment notes he'd made all night from his pocket. After scanning them a few times, he quickly grabbed a rod from the rod bag and started adjusting his own float, muttering to himself as he worked.

"First, find the bottom..."

Ten minutes later, Xiao Wang followed behind Director Li, returning to their seats with a face full of anxiety.

A tourist nearby had hooked a big fish, but Director Li didn't get to take a photo with it. He hoped the boss wouldn't take his anger out on him.

That woman was indeed quite big. Looks like Director Li still had a thing for women. Who knows if he's really taken a liking to fishing now or if it's just a passing fancy.

He'd figure it out once they got more familiar. Maybe he really could climb another step. He was a director, sure, but only a deputy director~

Xiao Wang fished quietly, but his mind was entirely on Director Li beside him, ready at any moment to offer flattery. Unfortunately, before long, two men stood behind Director Li—the tourists from earlier.

Hopefully this won't affect my business. So annoying. Should have had Wu Qiuqiu clear the area back then.

Still lost in his thoughts, a sudden exclamation came from beside him.

"Wow, big bro hooked one!"

Turning to look, Director Li had a fish on! He quickly stood up, grabbed the Landing Net, and was just about to deliver the well-prepared flattery when a voice startled him so much he forgot what he was going to say.

"Probably a Yellowtail Fish, but these Yellowtail Fish tend to break the line!"

Xiao Wang's heart felt like it was on a rollercoaster, especially when he saw Director Li's livid face, which scared him into silence.

Within just a few minutes, Director Li hooked another fish. But that damn man made that damn comment again, and the fish even got away just as he was netting it! Why was nothing going right today?

He couldn't hold back any longer. An aura of domineering authority erupted from him, and that damn man finally stopped talking.

Watching Director Li happily hooking fish one after another, Xiao Wang's mood was excellent.

Seems today's bad luck was just an illusion~

...Director Li kept lifting his rod, hooking fish, occasionally lifting the keepnet to check, taking photos with his phone. He felt refreshed. The feeling of dominating the battlefield was back. How many years had it been since he'd experienced this thrill?~
