7: Chapter 7: The Birth of Fetion Shocks the Gaming World

After Zhang Kai left the office, Chen Mo leaned back on the sofa, fingers lightly tapping the armrest, calculating his next move.

Acquire Riot?

He wasn't worried at all.

Penguin wasn't that certain about LOL yet; as long as he threw money at them, they would surely be tempted.

After all, in this day and age, who would refuse money?

"But Riot is just an appetizer."

Chen Mo smiled.

"The real big target is instant messaging."

He turned on the computer, and the screen lit up, reflecting his slightly excited eyes.

Over the following period, the lights in the Tomson Riviera top-floor duplex rarely went out.

In the middle of the night, Chen Mo sat at the computer, hands tapping rapidly on the keyboard, the sound as dense as raindrops.

"Phew... finally done."

An hour later, he let out a long breath, looking at the simple program interface on the screen, the corners of his mouth curling up.

This was an artificial intelligence program he had spent a lot of time writing.

An AI that could write code itself.

"Come, give me a demonstration."

Chen Mo said to the screen.

He typed in the dialog box:

"Make an instant messaging tool with PC, Apple, and Android versions."

In less than five minutes, three installation packages popped up on the screen.

Chen Mo raised an eyebrow:

"Good efficiency, equivalent to ten thousand programmers."

He stretched and leaned back in his chair.

With this AI, making any software in the future would be as easy as drinking water.

...

Half a month later, Zhang Kai called from the United States, his voice carrying uncontrollable excitement.

"President Chen! It's done! We've secured 99% of Riot's shares! We also bought the 20% from Penguin!"

"Hmm, good work."

Chen Mo's tone was calm.

"How much did it cost?"

"A total of 800 million USD."

Zhang Kai wiped his sweat.

"The other party hesitated at first, but our price was too aggressive..."

"Money is not an issue."

Chen Mo interrupted him.

"Next, prepare to introduce LOL to the domestic market."

"Understood!"

Hanging up the phone, Chen Mo was about to get up for water when a system prompt suddenly sounded in his mind:

"Ding, this month's lucky draw count has been refreshed. Does the host wish to start the draw?"

"Oh? Almost forgot about that."

Chen Mo's eyes lit up, and he replied casually.

"Start the draw!"

"Ding, congratulations to the host for drawing the Grandmaster Acting Skill!"

"Grandmaster Acting Skill?"

Chen Mo froze for a moment, then felt a bit speechless.

"Better than nothing, I guess."

...

October 1st, National Day.

Tianxing Technology's new software,

Fetion, was quietly launched on all major platforms.

No promotion, no advertisements, silently.

Penguin Messaging and SMS were still the absolute overlords; the launch of Fetion was hardly noticed by anyone.

But Chen Mo wasn't in a hurry at all.

He was waiting for an opportunity.

...

During the National Day holiday, Wu Xue went back to her hometown, and Wu Dongju also returned to the Capital.

Chen Mo stayed in the Magic City alone, writing code and playing games every day, which was quite comfortable.

Occasionally video chatting with Wu Dongju, besides bickering, they would also talk about some "deep exchange" topics.

Every time, Wu Dongju would be teased until her face turned red, yet she couldn't help but continue chatting.

"Hmph, you're just taking advantage of me!"

"That's also of your own volition."

Chen Mo smiled mischievously.

...

After National Day, Zhang Kai returned to the country, bringing a group of newly recruited employees.

The company began to operate.

"President Chen, the domestic launch of LOL is almost ready, and the promotional plan is also complete."

Zhang Kai handed over the documents.

"Hmm, the promotion must be ubiquitous."

Chen Mo said.

"I want everyone who goes online to see this game."

"Good!"

...

More than half a month later, players in Dragon Country suddenly discovered

that no matter what website they opened, they could see the same advertisement.

"League of Heroes: A brand new free MOBA game!"

Video sites, game forums, pop-up ads... it was everywhere.

Internet cafes also had the game pre-installed.

"This game is so fierce? Such intense promotion?"

"Free? And you can even make money?"

"A 1,000 yuan reward for the first 10,000 people to reach level 30? Is that for real?"

Players were talking about it, their curiosity fully piqued.

...

On the day League of Heroes launched.

Major internet cafes were packed with people, all machines occupied.

"Quick, quick, quick, the server is open!"

"Damn, why do I have to register for Fetion?"

"Whatever, just register, as long as I can play the game!"

Players complained while quickly registering.

...

In the Tianxing Technology office, Zhang Kai stared at the backend data, his hands shaking.

"President Chen! The number of concurrent players in one hour has exceeded 500,000!"

"Fetion registered users have broken 1 million!"

"The server is about to collapse, there are too many people in the queue!"

Chen Mo sat in his chair, calmly drinking tea.

"No need to add servers, open a new server."

"Ah? Open it now?" Zhang Kai was stunned.

"Open it," Chen Mo said, "give out the rewards as usual."

"Yes!"

...

Players were cursing because of the queue when they suddenly saw an announcement:

"New server open! Rewards remain the same!"

"Holy crap? Is Tianxing Technology this conscientious?"

"You can even do that?"

"Let's go, let's go, to the new server!"

The result:

Every hour, a new server was opened.

A total of twelve servers were opened.

The rewards for each server were the same.

Players went completely crazy.

"This isn't just conscientious; this is being obscenely wealthy!"

"Making money while playing games, first time I've seen it!"

"Charge! Go get the rewards!"

...

When the first day's data came out, the entire gaming world was shaken.

League of Heroes registered users: 5 million.

Concurrent players: 3.2 million.

Directly broke all records.

Registered users for Fetion also rose to 5 million accordingly.

Equivalent to one-third of V-Message's current users.

And this only took one day.

...

In the office, Zhang Kai's face was red with excitement.

"President Chen! We succeeded!"

Chen Mo looked at the city night view outside the window and smiled gently.

"This is just the beginning."
