67: Chapter 67 Aren't you going to kiss me?

The apprentices really wanted to live in the big villa too, even if it meant staying in the ordinary servant quarters.

There were 18 of them in total, all orphans. While they were called apprentices, they were like his own children and grandchildren. He provided for their food, clothing, education, and martial arts training, and later, they worked here and received a monthly salary.

Grandpa Zhou laughed in exasperation. "We'll all go, we'll all go." His place wasn't bad either; the single-story house was well-decorated. Sigh, a bunch of people who didn't know how to appreciate things.

The apprentices cheered loudly, "Yay!" They hurried back, grabbed the luggage they had packed long ago, and carried it onto the vehicles.

Xu Wanning, who had originally planned to leave some supplies for them, silently stored the supplies away into her space. "Let's go."

Grandpa Zhou locked the house tightly. The place had been fortified until it was impregnable; ordinary people wouldn't be able to get in even if they wanted to.

Arriving at the villa, Xu Wanning pointed to the third floor. "Except for the third floor, you can choose any of the other 16 rooms. The second floor is more suitable for married couples."

The third floor was her strictly private space, and she didn't like being disturbed. The third floor had a separate elevator and entrance; without the access fingerprint, no one could go up.

"Alright!" Everyone cheered and started picking their rooms. The study downstairs had also been converted into a bedroom by Xu Wanning.

Grandpa Zhou's apprentices consciously went to the auxiliary building. They lived three to a room, set up dormitory-style. For those short on beds, Xu Wanning arranged for the ones she had collected from Grandpa Zhou's house to be used.

As for the remaining rooms in the main building, Xu Jingan and Lin Wanqiu, Xu Jingping and Qin Qingru, Wen Shuyang's parents, Lu Zhiyu's parents, and Song Yunqing's parents lived on the second floor.

The study wasn't small, so it was divided into two for Zhou Ke and Xu Yu to live in; neither of them wanted to go to the basement.

Xu Wanning's grandparents and Grandpa Zhou lived in the two elder suites on the first floor.

Lu Zhiyu, Wen Shuyang, and Song Yunqing lived in the original servant rest rooms in the basement. Although they were servant rooms, they weren't bad at all—much better than a dormitory—and they didn't mind at all.

The security personnel and servants provided by The Great Leader did not live here; they had separate dormitories in the back.

Xu Wanning held Lu Chengyue's hand and waved. "You all go ahead and tidy up your things. I'm going out on a date with A-Yue."

"Go on, go on." Everyone waved their hands with blessings.

Lu Mingyuan and Shen Yirou also watched their son with blessings. This was the first time they had seen their son so openly happy. They used to worry that their son would get hurt, but now they weren't worried at all; Nickname was the right person for their son.

The two left and went to see a movie first. The movie theater was pitch black, and they sat in the very last row.

Even in broad daylight, there were quite a few people in the cinema, mostly young couples on dates.

Lu Chengyue was very quiet the whole time, his hand resting on the armrest, palm facing up, clearly waiting for someone to hold it.

Xu Wanning placed her hand on his, and Lu Chengyue's fingers immediately closed around it. It was clear he had been waiting for a long time.

This time they were watching a romance film. When the male and female leads kissed, Lu Chengyue awkwardly saw the couple in the row in front of them kissing as well.

The hand holding Xu Wanning's tightened unconsciously, slightly sweating.

Xu Wanning leaned over. "Won't you kiss me?"

Lu Chengyue had been enduring it, and upon hearing her voice, how could he hold back? He turned to the side and directly stole her breath away.

The scene on screen shifted. Lu Chengyue let her go, cupping her face, his eyes surging with magma. "When I was kissing you just now, guess what I was thinking?"

Xu Wanning was stunned for a moment. "Thinking about what?" Something damnably sweet?

"I wanted to pick you up, put you on my lap, and then..." He stopped as if suddenly sobered, not continuing.

However, Xu Wanning could guess what he wanted to say next. Did the darkness amplify human desire? He actually said something like that.

"Then what?" She pressed him.

"Nothing." Lu Chengyue sighed. "Ningning, you see, when I don't restrain myself, I am very scary. Are you truly prepared? Aren't you afraid?"

Xu Wanning lifted his hand and kissed the back of it. "I'm not afraid, because I know, A-Yue will absolutely never hurt me."

"I'm afraid." Lu Chengyue's voice was exceptionally serious. "I'm afraid I can't control myself; I don't even trust myself." His desire was aggressive, always burning away his reason.

Xu Wanning leaned over and kissed his lips. "Don't be afraid, we will face it together."

Having desires wasn't something to blame oneself for; there weren't that many ascetic people in this world.

The movie ended, and the two headed to a restaurant. For their last date before The Apocalypse, they chose an antique-style restaurant.

Lu Chengyue had booked a table on his phone in advance—by the window, in a corner, with dim lighting.

"When did you book it?" Xu Wanning couldn't recall Lu Chengyue looking at his phone earlier.

"When you were collecting supplies, I asked Xiao Yu. She said this restaurant was good, so I booked it." He had originally thought he wouldn't be able to get a table, but unexpectedly, this good spot had just opened up.

Xu Wanning did indeed like this restaurant's food; it was authentic. It wasn't a reputation built on hype, but solid, genuine praise.

Before, when she was hoarding supplies, she had wanted to order more from here, but they were too busy and weren't taking orders.

Before long, the dishes were served. The plating was exquisite, the portions were generous, and everything was what Xu Wanning loved to eat.

Lu Chengyue pushed the lychee juice he had ordered for her over. Before, he hadn't known she loved drinking this; it was his younger sister who had secretly told him.

"Did Zhiyu tell you that again?" Xu Wanning took a sip. It had ice added and tasted delicious.

"Yes." Lu Chengyue took a sip of orange juice. "She said you like everything that is lychee-flavored."

Xu Wanning laughed. That statement was spot on; she really did love the taste of lychee, including the fruit itself.

She picked up a piece of meat and fed it to Lu Chengyue's mouth. "Ah."

Lu Chengyue scanned the surroundings. He had watched TV dramas and knew that young couples would do this.

Confirming that no one else could see, he opened his mouth and ate it. This spot was truly great—private and atmospheric.

The two fed each other throughout the meal, eating everything on the table clean. Lu Chengyue even specifically wrote a very long positive review.

Afterwards, the two strolled around for a while. At 6 o'clock, Lu Chengyue took her back to the villa. The Political Instructor had said they needed to return to the team by 7 o'clock tonight.

Arriving in front of the villa, he let go of her hand. "Go on in."

Xu Wanning opened her arms and looked at him with a smile. "No hug?"

"No hug." Lu Chengyue shook his head. "If I hug you, I won't be able to leave; I'll lose control." His willpower was noticeably much weaker today.

At this moment, he desperately wanted to take Ningning home, to keep her by his side so she couldn't go anywhere else, wanting to pin her in the bedroom...

He quickly shook his head, shaking the trash out of his brain.

Xu Wanning's smile widened. "I really want to see what you look like when you lose control."

"Good night." Lu Chengyue turned and left, walking extremely fast, no different from running away.

He stopped when he reached the car, his body trembling slightly with his back to Xu Wanning. Then, he turned and ran back, rushing to her front, and swept her up into his arms.

It wasn't a hug; he lifted her off the ground, his hands supporting her waist, raising her whole body up to the height of his face.

Xu Wanning subconsciously found support with her legs, hanging onto him. "You..."
