Chapter 47 Card Domain Invades Reality

Officer Qin brought three subordinates up to the third floor, where the private area was reserved for VIPs who had booked the full service at "Conquer the Feet Under Heaven." The shop owner bowed as he led the way, his face plastered with a fawning smile, though he was feeling incredibly anxious inside.

"Officer, my shop is a legitimate business."

"Whether it's legitimate or not, we'll know once we've investigated." The shop owner was puzzled; there hadn't been a vice raid in years, so why was there a surprise inspection today? He really couldn't understand it.

Gu Ye and the other person, who were sleeping comfortably, only opened their eyes groggily when several figures pushed the door open, bringing with them a biting chill.

Upon seeing the several people in front of them wearing the black uniforms of the Domain Suppression Department with solemn expressions, the two of them jolted, instantly waking up with all sleepiness gone.

"Officers... what is the purpose of this visit?"

Officer Qin pointed at Gu Ye and turned to the shop owner: "Is this what you call a legitimate business?"

"Uh..." Cold sweat broke out on the shop owner's forehead. He didn't know why a guest would be lying on the bed wearing nothing but boxers. Even if you're enjoying yourself, you shouldn't just fall asleep right after finishing.

Gu Ye felt a cold breeze and realized he was nearly naked. Embarrassed, he put on his clothes. Chu Ling, on the other hand, had kept his clothes on while receiving the full massage.

"Take them all away..."

Thus, Gu Ye and Chu Ling went on a one-day tour of the Domain Suppression Department. In the interrogation room, a room of a dozen square meters, Gu Ye sat on a heavy iron chair. Hanging in the center of the ceiling was a pale incandescent lamp, shining directly onto Gu Ye's face.

"Name?" "Gu Ye." "Gender?" "I suppose male." "What do you mean 'suppose'?" "Then it's male." "Don't mess with me." Officer Qin slammed her hand on the table in anger.

"Tell me, why did you go to 'Conquer the Feet Under Heaven'?"

Gu Ye looked helpless and spread his hands: "Officer, you've asked me this a dozen times already. I've already said I went for a massage. The exam preparation pressure has been high recently, and I wanted to find a place to relax. I have no other motives."

"You..." Officer Qin was infuriated by his impervious attitude. She stared at Gu Ye for a long time but couldn't find any flaws on his face. She took a deep breath, suppressed the anger in her heart, stood up abruptly, and slammed the door as she left, leaving Gu Ye alone in the interrogation room, stunned.

After some time, the interrogation room door was pushed open again. Officer Qin walked in with a gloomy face, her tone cold: "Someone has bailed you out. You can leave." After speaking, she walked to Gu Ye's side, took out a key, and with a "click," unlocked the handcuffs.

Gu Ye's spiritual energy recovered, and he followed Officer Qin to the Domain Suppression Department lobby, where he saw Ye Suxuan standing there, reprimanding Chu Ling. Despite Chu Ling's tall stature, he looked like a quail, head lowered, not daring to say a word.

Seeing Gu Ye come out, Ye Suxuan stopped reprimanding Chu Ling and turned to look at Gu Ye. Standing nearly two meters tall, she was powerful and looked very intimidating.

"Let's go!" Gu Ye gave a sheepish smile and followed them out of the Domain Suppression Department.

Behind them, Officer Qin's gaze remained tightly locked on Gu Ye's disappearing figure, her eyes full of suspicion.

At this moment, a subordinate walked over quickly, handed the file in his hand to Officer Qin, and reported: "Sister Qin, we've checked. Both of these people are third-year high school students at Yunlin City No. 1 High School. They have no record of any violations recently and haven't had any contact with suspicious individuals."

"Keep looking." Officer Qin flipped through the file, her brows furrowing even tighter. She casually handed the file back to the subordinate, her tone firm: "The higher-ups have given a death order. We must capture that A-rank fugitive; we cannot let any suspicious person go."

"Understood, Sister Qin." The subordinate took the file and turned to leave. Before he left, he couldn't help but ask curiously: "Sister Qin, do you think there's something wrong with this kid?"

"I can't put my finger on it." Officer Qin shook her head, her gaze still fixed on the doorway, "But I always feel like he's hiding something."

After getting in the car, Gu Ye asked: "Why would the people from the Domain Suppression Department be there?" Gu Ye understood that the Domain Suppression Department generally didn't handle these kinds of matters.

"An A-rank fugitive came to Yunlin City and happened to have been to 'Conquer the Feet Under Heaven'."

Hearing this, Gu Ye cursed his bad luck. Ye Suxuan dropped Gu Ye back home.

Gu Ye casually had lunch downstairs before heading back home.

"I'm at 80% of Bronze Rank Seven. After the [Refinement] in the [Furnace] is finished, if I consume some [Breath of Spiritual Energy], I should be able to reach Bronze Rank Eight."

The whole afternoon was spent with Gu Ye practicing [Willow Catkin Swaying].

Unknowingly, the plasma solar tower outside the window slowly extinguished; night fell, and the city lights began to twinkle.

At 3 AM, a sharp alarm suddenly pierced the night sky, emanating from the top of the plasma solar tower in the city center, resonating throughout all of Yunlin City:

"Emergency notification! Card Domain invasion! Card Domain invasion! Card Domain invasion!"

"Location: 102°10' East Longitude, 24°23' North Latitude, the entire northeast corner of Yunlin City! Residents in this area, please evacuate immediately!"

In an instant, everyone in the city was awakened, and countless powerhouses from the Domain Suppression Department flew toward the site of the Card Domain invasion.

Those covered by the area fled in a panic, while those who were not continued to sleep soundly.

Gu Ye opened his eyes and listened to the broadcast. Seeing that he wasn't covered, he laid his head back down to continue sleeping, muttering: "My ability is too small. Everyone has their own fate; just take care of yourself."

Monday morning, light rain, suitable for travel.

Gu Ye got up and took a look at the [Furnace]; the flames were still burning brightly, and it should be finished with [Refinement] when he returned in the evening.

He grabbed his umbrella, turned to look at the Willow Crab lying on the sofa, and said: "Let's go."

"Whoosh," the Willow Crab instantly appeared on his shoulder and yawned.

"I just don't get it, why can't summoned creatures be too far away from their Card Master?"

Gu Ye walked quickly out of the stairwell and opened his umbrella.

"How would I know? Stop talking and just stay put." Gu Ye held the umbrella in one hand and grabbed the Willow Crab with the other, putting it into the small pocket of his inner shirt.

Walking all the way to school, the Willow Crab looked around curiously the entire time. It was its first time in the human world, and everything was novel to it, so it kept talking the whole way.

Walking to the school gate, a middle-aged man was quietly watching the students coming in and out, a smile on his lips, looking very happy.

It was already late spring, yet the man was wearing a grey trench coat over dark inner wear, with a thick scarf wrapped around his neck, a pair of thin gold-rimmed round glasses on the bridge of his nose, and holding a black umbrella in his hand. He was truly an oddity...

Gu Ye glanced at him, didn't pay much attention, and walked straight toward the school gate.

"Wait a moment, student." A hand suddenly patted Gu Ye on the shoulder.

Gu Ye turned his head curiously to look, and it turned out to be the man in the trench coat from before.

"Uncle, is there something you need?"

"Student, my name is Ning Shijun. May I ask where your principal's office is? Could you take me there?"

Just as Gu Ye was about to refuse, the Willow Crab's voice suddenly rang in his ear.

"Kid, agree to it."

Gu Ye looked down at the Willow Crab in his pocket, "Fine, Uncle."

Upon hearing the word "Uncle," Ning Shijun gave a sheepish smile.

"Student, I'm only in my early thirties. There isn't that much of an age gap between us. Why don't you call me Brother Jun!"

"Okay, Uncle Jun." Ning Shijun chuckled.

"..." He smiled helplessly and stopped worrying about the form of address.

Gu Ye led the way in front, with Ning Shijun following on his left, and the two walked slowly toward the principal's office.

Along the way, the two walked quietly, neither speaking, while Gu Ye kept asking the Willow Crab for the reason.

But the Willow Crab wouldn't tell him; it just told him there would be benefits.

Ten minutes later, the two arrived at the office door.

"We're here."

Ning Shijun smiled and said: "Thank you, student!"

"You're welcome." Gu Ye turned and walked away.

"Wait." Ning Shijun suddenly called out to stop him, looked at his back, and asked: "Student, I still don't know your name?"

"Li Feiyu!"

"A good name," Ning Shijun murmured, then smiled, "We will meet again."
