1: Someone sent a treasure

In the era of Dharma decline in the cultivation era, Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi is thin, and ancient Legacies are severed.

The whole world is devastated, and Cultivators resort to any means to fight for various resources, forming a cruel world where the strong prey on the weak.

Suddenly, the fingers of a corpse in the swamp moved slightly.

Then, slowly, the chest of the corpse began to rise and fall.

The corpse suddenly sat up, and eyes opened on its muddy face.

Then it began to pant heavily.

Gu Changan knew he had undergone Transmigration, and into the body of a dead person.

It seemed this corpse hadn't been dead for long; at least the joints of the body were not yet stiff.

While picking the mud off his face, Gu Changan checked his new body.

Feeling here and looking there, fortunately, it was a male corpse!

Gu Changan breathed a sigh of relief and searched through everything on his person.

He didn't find anything valuable.

Aside from his clothes, there was only a long sword of normal size, covered in stains, making it impossible to tell its quality.

In the middle was a yellow cloth bag, its opening bound with golden silk thread, likely a Qiankun Bag or a Storage Pouch.

On the far right was a palm-sized small shield; there was nothing else.

Just as Gu Changan was lamenting how poor the original owner was!

The sound of running came from the reeds in the distance.

The sound of splashing water plus the sound of moving through the reeds.

The sound came from far to near, about three or four people.

Gu Changan had just undergone Transmigration, knew nothing, and didn't want to cause trouble, so he quickly stuffed the yellow cloth bag into his chest, took the long sword and small shield, and fled into the reeds to one side.

Although he didn't know what they were doing?

It certainly wasn't anything good, so he could only hide first.

He hadn't properly understood this world yet; it would be depressing if he died again.

Who knew that what he feared most would happen?

Those people seemed to have discovered him and were running toward his location.

From afar, a voice called out: "Fellow Daoist! Help!"

"Fellow Daoist, don't leave."

"Save my life."

"I will surely repay you later!"

Not long after the voice called out, a scream came from behind.

It seemed the person being chased had died.

Gu Changan quickened his pace and lowered his posture.

He hoped those people would see he wasn't a threat and let him go!

Unexpectedly, the first voice rang out again: "Since you won't let me have it..."

"...don't even think about getting it yourselves!"

Then, Gu Changan heard something flying through the reeds.

Like someone had thrown a stone into the reeds.

Immediately after, Gu Changan saw a palm-sized bronze vessel, shaped like an ancient sacrificial cauldron, with three legs below and two ears above.

Around the cauldron was a circle of colorful gemstones, dazzling in the sunlight.

Gu Changan was incredibly excited; he had found a treasure as soon as he arrived?

It looked like a real treasure; why else would so many people fight for it?

Should he take it?

If he didn't, he might regret it later!

If he did, he couldn't escape anyway—thinking that he couldn't escape in the first place!

He made up his mind instantly. He'd risk it; he couldn't run away anyway.

The bold feast while the timid starve!

After a fierce internal struggle, Gu Changan caught the small cauldron and turned to run.

A voice came from far behind: "Damned thing, won't even stay quiet in death."

Then came the sound of swords hacking into flesh; it seemed they were mutilating the corpse to vent their anger.

"The thing is over there, chase it!"

"Make sure that person over there doesn't escape."

Gu Changan's body had just adapted, and his legs were not yet very flexible.

He scrambled and crawled toward the dense area of the reeds.

The reeds in the marsh were a mix of yellow and green, and the swamp below was full of pools of black water, with occasional bubbles rising to the surface.

The entire reed marsh was shrouded in a thin layer of mist.

The thick mist felt like a Yao Beast's tongue licking his skin, and Gu Changan's face felt a bit stinging; it seemed this mist was poisonous.

Gu Changan's fingers gripping the bronze small cauldron had turned pale.

Listening carefully to the sounds behind him, he heard the crisp snapping of dry branches and the sound of a large area of reeds breaking.

Gu Changan suddenly crouched down, his mud-stained hem sweeping over the rotting leaves at the edge of the swamp.

A Saber Qi flew over his head.

Along with it, it sliced off a large patch of reeds.

Gu Changan gasped; if his reaction had been a bit slower, he would have been cut in half.

How long had it been since he Transmigrated?

Gu Changan didn't want to die for no reason.

Before long, he was caught by the three people behind him.

Gu Changan collapsed to the ground, panting heavily, leaning against a rock.

His eyes stared fixedly at the reeds behind him, from which emerged three Cultivators in blood-red clothes, seemingly from the same School.

"Running? Why aren't you running anymore?" A one-eyed Cultivator walked over, stepping on the foul-smelling mud, the skull bell at his waist jingling. "Hand over the blood lingzhi, and I'll leave your corpse intact."

Gu Changan's back pressed against the slippery rock, looking at the three surrounding him with a difficult expression.

"What blood lingzhi? I don't know anything about it?"

Gu Changan seemed to think of something.

He quickly looked into the small cauldron in his hand; inside lay a miniature version of a lingzhi.

The blood-red thread-like substances on it were like human blood vessels, densely covering the entire lingzhi.

Gu Changan didn't have time to marvel at the wonder of the treasure; he only wanted to escape this crisis!

Perhaps due to too much force, the blood from his arm slid down his palm to the gemstone part of the cauldron and was slowly absorbed by the gemstone.

The Star Jade on the edge of the bronze cauldron suddenly glowed faintly. Among the seven jade stones, the bottom-most red jade lit up by half an inch, as if being soaked by something invisible.

Gu Changan: "Everyone, I'm just passing through!"

Gu Changan stalled for time while observing the environment to prepare for an escape.

The three from the Blood Fiend Alliance surrounded him in a triangular formation. After realizing Gu Changan wasn't a threat, they clearly stopped wasting words.

Dark red flames rose from the leader's palm as he prepared to attack.

Gu Changan suddenly threw out the blood lingzhi from the bronze cauldron. The century-old blood lingzhi lying at the bottom of the cauldron suddenly split in two, with amber-colored liquid seeping from the break.

A blood lingzhi flew out from the bronze small cauldron, continuously growing in front of everyone until it reached the size of a washbasin.

Everyone's attention was drawn to the blood lingzhi.

"This is... Black-Yellow Treasure Qi?" The one-eyed Cultivator's pupils shrank suddenly. "You can actually activate an Ancient Secret Technique!"

How could Gu Changan know what they were talking about?

After throwing away the hot potato, he prepared to run. At this time, living for a bit longer was living for a bit longer.

Unexpectedly, the moment the blood lingzhi appeared, a low roar came from the depths of the swamp.

Seven tentacles covered in suckers burst out of the water, grabbing the two nearest Blood Fiend Alliance Disciples and dragging them into the water, with blood rising to the surface.

The leader of the Blood Fiend Alliance Disciples was horrified and immediately took to the air, flying into the distance.

The other tentacles chased after the Blood Fiend Alliance Disciple in the sky.
