24: Treasure Pavilion

Then he spotted a recycling room in the corner, likely dedicated to recycling items.

Gu Changan had an idea: if he sold the junk he didn't need, he would probably get quite a few Spirit Stones.

He should also be able to go to the 2nd floor now; after all, he had gained a lot from the remains of two Golden Core Stage experts.

Most of the 100-plus Storage Pouches from the Ancient Forbidden Land were useless to him.

From this Golden Core Stage Immortal Cave, he had harvested another two large Storage Pouches full of miscellaneous items.

Gu Changan went straight to a small booth in the recycling room, where an old man from the Treasure Pavilion sat opposite him.

The old man was dressed in golden-yellow attire, constantly playing with three well-known Crystal Cores in one hand.

Seeing Gu Changan sit down across from him, he asked, "Fellow Daoist, do you have something to sell?"

Gu Changan had already thought of a plan before coming.

"My family elders bestowed several Storage Pouches upon me."

"The items inside are far too numerous and disorganized!"

"I can't recognize them all for the time being, and with so many things, handling them is too much of a hassle!"

"So I came to the Treasure Pavilion to have a look!"

The golden-robed old man remained expressionless. "Take them out and let me see!"

Gu Changan first took out the junk from the 100 Cannon Fodder, which filled several Storage Pouches.

The golden-robed old man looked disdainful. "This is all just trash; only these Storage Pouches are worth some Spirit Stones!"

"I'll give you 50 Spirit Stones at most!"

"Stop wasting my time!"

Gu Changan wasn't disappointed; he then took out the two huge Storage Pouches from the Golden Core Stage Immortal Cave.

Of course, he had already replicated the items that possessed Orange Treasure Qi.

The Orange Treasure Qi inside the treasure gathering basin instantly decreased by seventy percent, much to Gu Changan's distress.

However, thinking that these treasures could generate Treasure Qi every day, he felt less pained!

The golden-robed old man took them, and his expression shifted as he looked inside. "These two Storage Pouches are more like it!"

"Thunderclap Stone: can be used to forge thunder-attribute Magic Treasures or weapons."

"About 30 catties; I'll count it as ten Spirit Stones per catty, so 300 Spirit Stones!"

"Purple Fir Wood: can be used to make wood-attribute Magic Treasures or weapons."

"There are seven or eight pieces here; at 20 Spirit Stones each, that's 160 Spirit Stones!"

"Plus two Advanced Storage Pouches! That's another 200 Spirit Stones!"

"The remaining miscellaneous items will be 50 Spirit Stones!"

"Do you have any objections?"

Gu Changan shook his head. "These were gifts from my elders, essentially items I got for free, so how could I have any objections?"

Whether the golden-robed old man believed him or not, he remarked, "You are quite lucky!"

"Take your 760 Spirit Stones!"

Gu Changan put away the Spirit Stones with a look of joy.

He really hadn't expected to sell them for so much; initially, he thought 200 Spirit Stones would be about right!

The two Advanced Storage Pouches and the Thunderclap Stone had contributed the bulk of it!

Of course, Gu Changan had replicated all these things beforehand.

Gu Changan looked at the golden-robed old man. "I plan to give a return gift to my elder; his birthday is coming up!"

"Do you think you could find someone to take me to the 2nd floor?"

Only then did the golden-robed old man reveal a slight smile. He had acquired so many things from Gu Changan, mostly at half price.

He would get a commission from this, and since the kid wanted to buy something, his grandson could earn another commission!

The golden-robed old man took out a jade plate and sent a message to it using his Divine Sense.

Before long, a fat man in an Attendant's uniform entered.

The fat man entered the room. "Grandfather, you called for me?"

The golden-robed old man pointed at Gu Changan. "He's going to the 2nd floor to buy some things; take him there!"

The fat man's expression turned professional as he looked at Gu Changan. "Fellow Daoist, this way please!"

Then he said to the golden-robed old man, "Grandfather, I'm leaving!"

The fat man enthusiastically led the way. "What is your honorable surname, Fellow Daoist?"

Gu Changan replied, "No need for formalities, my surname is Di."

The fat man smiled. "Fellow Daoist Di, what are you planning to look at?"

Gu Changan asked, "What Foundation Establishment Stage Medicinal Pills do you have?"

The fat man explained, "There are many. The most common is the guyuan pill, used for increasing cultivation."

"There are also detoxification pills, healing pills for injuries, and so on!"

"Which ones do you need?"

Gu Changan asked, "It's my elder's birthday; what do you think would be a good gift?"

The fat man was slightly stunned, but then he thought it was reasonable.

"I can't really decide that, but it depends on what the other person likes!"

Gu Changan asked, "Then for those types of Medicinal Pills you just mentioned, roughly how many Spirit Stones do they cost?"

The fat man turned serious. "The guyuan pill is a common Medicinal Pill for Foundation Establishment Cultivators; it consolidates cultivation and increases Spiritual Qi reserves."

"It's a commonly used Medicinal Pill for the Foundation Establishment Stage, and because it's so common, it's very scarce!"

"As you know, Spirit Medicines are quite rare now, and every single stalk is exceptionally precious."

"So the price of Spirit Medicines has naturally risen; it's about 100 Spirit Stones per pill."

Gu Changan asked, "For a Low Grade one?"

The fat man replied, "Of course. A Medium Grade one won't be at that price."

"After all, rarity makes things expensive! It will be at least 300 Spirit Stones per pill."

"A Medium Grade one not only has much higher Spiritual Qi content than a Low Grade one, but it also has fewer Impurities!"

Gu Changan asked curiously, "How many Spirit Stones for High Grade and top-grade ones?"

The fat man said, "We don't sell those to the public!"

"Those types can already go to auctions."

"Of course, if you have relatively scarce treasures, you can exchange them directly with our Deacon."

"The value of a High Grade one is about 800 Spirit Stones per pill."

"The value of a top-grade one is about 1,000 to 1,200 Spirit Stones per pill."

Gu Changan nodded, gaining a rough understanding of the value of these Medicinal Pills.

He hadn't expected the price difference between a top-grade pill and a Low Grade pill to be tenfold; thus, the top-grade qi gathering pills he was taking might cost 10 Spirit Stones each.

Ten Spirit Stones a day—if he didn't have the treasure gathering basin, he wouldn't be able to afford them at all!

The fat man then explained, "Since detoxification pills are used in fewer scenarios—only poisoned Cultivators buy them—they are about 20 Spirit Stones each."

"healing pills are much more common, about 50 Spirit Stones each."

Gu Changan followed the fat man upstairs. The guards at the stairs saw the fat man with him and didn't stop them.

Just as they reached the 2nd floor, before he could observe the surroundings, he heard a Deacon scolding an Attendant.

The Deacon wore a golden long robe, which was distinctly different from the Attendant's clothes.

When the fat man saw the Deacon, he was like a mouse seeing a cat, immediately lowering his head and hiding to the side, not daring to make a sound.

At that moment, Gu Changan heard the Deacon's inquiry: "Old Zhen, has that guy's soul lamp gone out?"

The Attendant was trembling all over, responding with his head lowered, "Yes!"

The Deacon's angry voice came again: "What about his subordinates?"

The Attendant said, "I have inquired about everyone's tracks; they have all disappeared!"

"They have been missing for at least seven or eight days!"

The Deacon was somewhat uncertain and alarmed. "Useless trash! Go look for them immediately!" Then he turned and walked upstairs!

In fact, the Deacon also knew that if the soul lamp was out, it meant the person was dead.

But not a single one of those subordinates had returned, so he didn't know what had actually happened.

The unknown was the most terrifying. It was supposed to be treasure hunting, but how was he going to explain this to his superiors?

After the Deacon and the Attendant both left,

Gu Changan pulled the fat man and began to ask, "What's going on? Why was that Deacon so furious?"

The fat man's gossiping spirit also flared up. "I'll tell you, but don't tell anyone else!"
