47: Chapter 47 The Mouse's Shock.
'Kill him, kill him, kill him.'
Little Mouse cried out anxiously but didn't dare to act on its own.
If Fang Xun hadn't intentionally protected it just now, even the residual shockwave could have turned its internal organs into a pool of mush.
Qi Lian walked outward while looking down at him.
Just now, Fang Xun threw that punch and then tightly shielded her behind him.
Qi Lian didn't quite understand; she didn't understand Fang Xun's change.
Fang Xun could clearly leave by himself, so why did he stay? Was it because he was a superhuman? But he almost died.
Qi Lian recalled the shocked yet slightly angry look in Fang Xun's eyes when he last saw her.
Was he angry that she had returned?
Why? Qi Lian couldn't figure it out.
'Young Miss, kill him! It's a great opportunity!'
Flower Branch Rat squeaked. It knew too well how great the threat this person posed to them was.
"I... I need to look again."
Qi Lian looked at Fang Xun's face. Right now, Fang Xun was sleeping peacefully, looking quite well-behaved.
It was just that the black hood covering his face made him look a bit comical.
Just as Qi Lian walked out of the large pit, Special Warfare Team Members nearby had already rushed to the scene.
"Hey, comrade. What are you doing here? Is anyone inside injured?"
A young man in a black combat uniform quickly ran over when he saw Qi Lian carrying someone out.
"I don't know," Qi Lian shook her head. "Only my brother is injured."
"Hey, hey, hey? Squad 32, Number 08 reporting: One person seriously injured, requires a stretcher. Medical personnel, proceed to coordinates immediately."
The young man quickly reported into his communicator. After reporting, he asked Qi Lian again:
"Comrade, name, I need to record it." The young man spoke, patting the law enforcement recorder clipped to his chest, signaling that this was during an enforcement action and she shouldn't be afraid.
"Qi Lian. I am a freshman at Dongcheng University. He is Fang Xun, my older brother."
"Fang Xun? Holy crap!" The young man couldn't help but curse upon hearing Fang Xun's name.
But he immediately reacted and asked carefully:
"Is he your biological brother? Does he have a younger sister named Fang Jiangqin?"
"Yes," Qi Lian nodded.
"Hey, hey, hey!" The young man quickly keyed his communicator a few more times. Before he could speak, he heard a voice come through from the other end:
"Stop keying in. Medical rescue priority has been elevated. A rescue helicopter is already en route and will arrive in one minute at most. Remember to turn off full-channel voice next time."
"..."
Obviously, the young man had been scolded, but the rescue helicopter indeed arrived very quickly.
In less than a minute, the rumbling sound of a helicopter came from the sky.
Soon, someone carrying a stretcher descended from the helicopter and took both Fang Xun and Qi Lian away.
Qi Lian sat quietly on the adjacent seat, watching the medical workers busy themselves.
"Quick, quick, quick! Get the heart rate monitor on. Why is his heart rate so low? If this kid dies, we'll all be fired."
"Adrenaline overdose. It's not a big problem."
"Why are there so many injuries on his body? Bandages, bandages!"
"Looks like scratches..."
The return helicopter did not fly as fast; it maintained a smoother pace.
But even so, it arrived at the hospital in under three minutes.
Down below, medical workers were already preparing to receive them.
Even Qi Lian was taken to undergo a simple CT scan, and some swelling-reducing and bruise-dispelling liniment was applied to the wounds on her back.
By the time Qi Lian finished her simple examination and treatment in line, Fang Xun had already gone through an expedited series of major and minor checks, surrounded by staff.
The thing called privilege was fascinating no matter where it was applied.
After Qi Lian finished her procedures, when she saw Fang Xun again, he was already lying quietly on a VIP private room bed, hooked up to an IV drip.
The young Special Warfare Team Member was standing guard nearby.
The young man immediately stood up when he saw Qi Lian approach:
"Comrade, don't worry.
He has been fully examined. Fang Xun is fine.
However, Captain Fang is still dealing with those Remnant Beastss. We haven't notified Captain Fang about this matter yet. Could you please look after Fang Xun for a while?
Also, do you have any information regarding what happened before? If you do, please tell us; it would be very helpful for our follow-up work."
Upon hearing this, Qi Lian just shook her head.
She didn't know how to handle this and could only shake her head for now.
Seeing this, the young man could only assume she was terrified and didn't think much of it.
"Okay, alright. It's fine. I have another task and can't stay long. Someone specialized will come to look after Fang Xun later. Please rest assured, comrade."
"Thank you," Qi Lian finally spoke.
"You're welcome."
The young man saluted Qi Lian before walking out the door.
At this moment, that mouse crawled out from a corner and settled on Fang Xun's hospital bed.
'Young Miss, are you really not going to act?'
It looked at Fang Xun, and after confirming that Fang Xun was indeed motionless, drool almost fell out.
How strong this person before him was, it had already witnessed.
If it could eat even a bite, wouldn't it be able to ascend to heaven in one step?
Even getting a finger would be great.
It squeaked and opened its mouth wide.
As long as the Young Miss didn't stop it, it could eat as much as it wanted. It could become a high-ranking creature in one bite!
It cautiously watched Qi Lian while opening its mouth as wide as possible.
Its torn mouth could swallow a giant watermelon in one gulp.
One bite could easily sever Fang Xun's head.
But just then...
"Huh?"
Fang Xun suddenly opened his eyes to a strange ceiling.
Hearing the sound, the wide-open mouth instantly snapped shut, transforming back into the fat Flower Branch Rat.
"Where am I?"
Fang Xun raised his hand to press his head, feeling somewhat fatigued.
"Whoa, you're still here, Little Mouse."
Fang Xun reached out and pinched the Flower Branch Rat.
When Fang Xun reached out like that, the Flower Branch Rat was so scared it nearly deformed.
But it couldn't deform, and it didn't even have time to react before Fang Xun grabbed it.
At this moment, it was a mouse, and it could only be a Little Mouse.
Suddenly, it tasted the flavor of fear.
"Brother, it's the hospital," Qi Lian looked at Fang Xun, then glanced at the Flower Branch Rat held in Fang Xun's hand.
She pointed to the large logo of Dongcheng City People's Hospital on the quilt.
"They brought me to the hospital?"
Fang Xun released the Flower Branch Rat, watching it obediently lie on the quilt, and rubbed his temples hard.
The Super Lollipop was indeed potent, but the aftereffect was quite strong.
Fang Xun remembered the Super Lollipop had aftereffects, but were they this strong?
Just as Fang Xun was about to sit up, he noticed the IV drip hanging on the back of his hand.
And his body was wrapped in bandages.
Thinking of the wounds poked by those Phoenix Tail Orchid leaves, having so many bandages wasn't surprising.
"Lian Lian, how are you? Are you alright?"
Fang Xun noticed that Qi Lian was also covered in dust, and Marisa's hat was nowhere to be seen.
Only the golden wig was still sitting properly on her head.
The quality of the items Tang Xiaotang made was truly excellent.
"I'm fine, Brother is amazing. I'm not hurt at all," Qi Lian confirmed.
"Is that so? Come here and let me see."
Fang Xun still remembered that lash the willow tree gave Qi Lian's back. Such a heavy whip—how could she not be injured?
Upon hearing this, Qi Lian obediently walked over and stood in front of Fang Xun.
Then, following Fang Xun's instructions, she sat on the edge of the hospital bed with her back to him.
Fang Xun looked at the state of Qi Lian's back, and his pupils instantly constricted.
From the front, nothing was visible.
But the clothes on her back had been torn open by that single whip strike.
It was fortunate that the high-quality cotton-linen material was sturdy enough, so the fabric only tore without completely breaking apart.
Otherwise, Qi Lian's snow-white spine would have been completely exposed.
But even so, one could glimpse the shadow of her inner wear through the dense network of torn threads.
"Let me see if it's swollen."
Fang Xun said, carefully using his hands to separate the threads, trying to get a clear view of the skin underneath.
Fang Xun, completely focused, failed to notice the two streaks of pink-green light flashing past the window.
"I'll be gentle, Lian Lian, don't move, it might hurt a little."
