120: Chapter 120 Living Like an Immortal

The continent was finally at peace. The four islands of the Void Ancient Dragon had united, the Heavenly Demon Phoenix Clan had submitted, and the Sky Mansion Alliance had long since disbanded. Everything seemed to be moving in a positive direction. Hun Feng woke up naturally every day, his eyes opening to the smiling faces of his wives; his life was more comfortable than that of an immortal.

Early this morning, Hun Feng emerged from Yao Yao's room, rubbing his lower back as he walked. Yao Yao was now an Eight Star Dou Sheng with unbelievable stamina; last night, she had insisted on dragging him along to "consolidate his cultivation," a process that had lasted for the better part of the night. Her peach-blossom eyes were narrowed in satisfaction as she leaned against the doorframe, watching him leave. Her black dress hung loosely on her frame, revealing a patch of fair, smooth shoulder. Yao Yao had never been the clinging, delicate type; she was fiery, shrewish, and a woman of intense spirit who would simply reach out and take whatever she wanted. It had been the same last night when she pinned Hun Feng to the bed—her peach-blossom eyes held a mix of dominance and coquettishness, and while her mouth complained, "You spend every day with Big Sister Cai Lin and Xun'er, but when it comes to me, you claim to be tired," her hands refused to loosen their grip by even a fraction. Hun Feng glanced back at her, and she gave him a flirtatious wink before slamming the door shut to go back to sleep.

Breakfast was laid out by the stone table, and the family gathered around. Cao Ying was holding the two-month-old Hun Muying. The little one was awake, her dark, round eyes curiously examining the bowls and dishes on the table. Gu Xun'er's due date was less than a month away, and her belly was noticeably swollen; her movements were much slower than before, but she never missed breakfast. She sat beside Cao Ying, occasionally reaching out to tease Hun Muying's little cheeks with a faint smile on her lips. Xiao Yi Xian walked over from the flower garden, holding a few freshly picked stalks of calming grass, her white hair gently fluttering in the morning breeze. She sat down opposite Cao Ying and placed the stalks by her side, saying concisely, "Put them under your pillow to help you sleep." Cao Ying smiled and acknowledged this, carefully tucking the calming grass into her sleeve.

Yun Yun walked over from the corridor carrying a pot of freshly brewed tea, the hem of her moon-white dress brushing against the bluestone floor, her movements as calm and unhurried as ever. She poured a cup for everyone, sat down beside Cao Ying, and took the child to help hold her for a while. Over the past two months, she had been helping Cao Ying take care of Hun Muying, learning everything from feeding to coaxing her to sleep. Medusa reclined on a soft couch, her lower abdomen already slightly swollen, still flipping through that endless scroll of Snake-People Tribe correspondence. Hun Muxiao sat beside her; the ten-year-old girl had shed her baby fat, her features becoming increasingly delicate. Her lively peach-blossom eyes were something she had picked up from being around Yao Yao, but her temperament was closer to Medusa—a foundation of cold beauty and calm demeanor, yet with a slyness like Yao Yao's when she smiled. She was diligently peeling grapes for her mother, handing each one over once peeled. Medusa took them and placed them in her mouth, a trace of faint softness flashing in her purple eyes.

Hun Feng sat at the head of the stone table, looking from left to right. Six wives: one pregnant, one expecting, one who had just given birth, and three beautiful flowers, each with her own unique charm. He picked up his teacup and took a large gulp, leaning back against the chair as he sighed sincerely, "Even immortals aren't as happy as I am."

Yao Yao emerged from her room after catching up on sleep and happened to hear this. Rolling her peach-blossom eyes, she walked behind him, placed her hands on his shoulders, and rested her chin on the top of his head. "Husband, can you say that with a clear conscience? Immortals don't marry six wives at once, and ones who are all so strong at that." Hun Feng raised his hand and pinched her lower back. Yao Yao nimbly twisted her waist to dodge, sitting down beside him in the process, and picked up his teacup to drink. After finishing it, she pushed the cup toward him and demanded, quite reasonably, for another pour. Hun Feng glanced at her and resignedly picked up the teapot to refill it. He had known Yao Yao for so many years and knew her temperament too well—in front of outsiders, she was a cold-blooded Shura, and in the Soul Realm, she was Hun Feng's most reliable right hand, but in front of him, she was always that fiery and coquettish little enchantress. Her black dress was still of the high-slit style; as she sat down, her fair, slender legs were revealed through the skirt, and the silver bell on her ankle jingled with her movements. Her features were exquisitely crafted, her peach-blossom eyes always carrying three parts smile and three parts slyness. When she pouted, it was as if she were acting like a spoiled child, but when she smiled, it carried a sharpness that could not be underestimated. Sometimes, Hun Feng felt that Yao Yao was like a dagger inlaid with jewels—beautiful enough to keep one's eyes glued to her, yet sharp enough that no one dared to underestimate her.

After breakfast, Gu Xun'er stood up while supporting her waist, and Hun Feng immediately rose to steady her arm. It was becoming somewhat difficult for her to walk now. Yao Ling had said the fetus was developing extremely well, but that also meant the delivery would be more difficult. Hun Feng accompanied her for a walk along the back corridor every morning and evening, as Yao Ling had instructed. The two walked slowly along the East Courtyard's back corridor, Gu Xun'er supporting her waist with one hand and resting the other on Hun Feng's arm. Suddenly remembering something, she tilted her head to look at Hun Feng and asked if he had thought of names for the child yet. Hun Feng thought for a moment and said that if it were a boy, he would be named Hun Muyan, and if a girl, Hun Muxian. Gu Xun'er silently repeated them twice, her lips curving slightly as she said that was good.

The afternoon sun was just right, and Hun Feng lay on a rattan chair beside Xiao Yi Xian's flower garden to soak up the sun. Xiao Yi Xian was crouching in the flower garden, tending to her plants, her white hair hanging down to her shoulders, her movements maintaining that same unhurried composure. She wore a plain white dress today, with her sleeves rolled up to her elbows, her slender fingers moving nimbly through the soil, occasionally brushing the fine sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand. Cao Ying was sitting under the corridor holding her daughter, soaking up the sun; the little one was fast asleep on her mother's shoulder, her little fists clenched tightly. Yun Yun sat by the stone table wiping her green sword, the blade already polished to a shine, reflecting her elegant and refined face. Ever since she had entered the East Courtyard, this sword had rarely been unsheathed, but she wiped it every day; it was a habit she had formed from her many years as the Flower Sect Master.

Hun Feng watched them and suddenly felt that this life was too comfortable. There was no harassment from the Sky Mansion Alliance, no Xiao Yan jumping around, and even those restless forces on the continent had been brought to heel. He leaned back on the rattan chair and closed his eyes, the Heaven-Slaying Flame slowly circulating in his Dantian, while his Emperor Realm Soul spread out to cover the entire Soul Realm. Even while enjoying this rare leisure, he did not let down his guard; his Eight Star Dou Sheng mid-stage cultivation needed consolidation, and his Emperor Realm Soul needed constant tempering. But compared to the years of running around and scheming everywhere, his current life was practically like a dream. He closed his eyes and lazily asked Xiao Yi Xian if she was free that night. Xiao Yi Xian replied without turning her head, "I'm free, but I won't do 'that' with you." Yao Yao happened to emerge from the room, and hearing this, she laughed until she doubled over, pointing at Hun Feng and saying, "Husband, you have your days too."

After nightfall, Hun Feng went to Yun Yun's room. Yun Yun had just finished bathing, her long hair still carrying damp moisture, and the collar of her moon-white nightgown was slightly open, revealing a segment of her delicate collarbone. She was sitting at her vanity combing her hair, and upon hearing the door open, she glanced at him in the bronze mirror without speaking, merely curving her lips slightly. Hun Feng walked behind her, took the comb, and combed her hair for her, his movements much more proficient than before. Yun Yun closed her eyes and leaned into his embrace. After a long while, she spoke softly, asking him why he didn't go to Yao Yao's place today. Hun Feng lowered his head and planted a kiss on the top of her hair, his voice deep and gentle: "Yao Yao was already stuffed last night; tonight it's your turn." A faint blush appeared on Yun Yun's face, but she did not pull away, merely reaching out to gently press her cool fingertips against the back of his hand as it circled her waist. Outside the window, the moonlight was bright, and the leaves of the dark-leaf osmanthus rustled in the night breeze.

It was already late at night when he emerged from Yun Yun's room. Hun Feng stood in the corridor, watching the lights in the East Courtyard extinguish one by one. Yao Yao's room was still lit—she was probably fiddling with the newly replaced skulls on her bone whip again. Xiao Yi Xian's room was also lit—she was probably still tending to those newly planted calming grasses in the flower garden. The light in Yun Yun's room had just gone out; she must have already fallen asleep. The light in Medusa's room was still on; she was probably still flipping through that endless scroll of correspondence. Gu Xun'er and Cao Ying had rested early due to their pregnancies. Six bedchambers, six lamps, six women with vastly different personalities. Hun Feng leaned against a corridor pillar, looking at the quiet courtyard, a faint smile appearing on the corner of his lips. In the past, he was a corporate drone, waking up every day to clock in at work, having to smile and say "Okay, dear" even after the client had changed the proposal eighteen times. Now, he was the Young Master of the Hun Clan, an Eight Star Dou Sheng, the controller of the Heaven-Slaying Flame, and one of the men on the continent closest to the Emperor Realm. In the past, he couldn't even get a girlfriend; now, he had six wives, each of them a top-tier beauty. In the past, he lived alone in a rented room; now, he had the entire Soul Realm, a group of brothers who would live and die with him, and six wives willing to walk the Emperor Path with him and venture into the Great Thousand World together. This was what life was about. He turned and walked toward the study—he still had to finish reviewing the intelligence reports that Hun Qian had sent over tonight. Even immortals weren't as happy as he was, but immortals weren't as busy as he was either.
