42: Chapter 42 You're just lusting after her body!

The sky had not yet fully brightened; the grey, hazy morning light of the Soul Realm leaked through the gaps in the window lattice, casting faint patterns of light onto the dark red brocade curtains.

The bedchamber was very quiet, with only three steady, long breaths interweaving within the brocade curtains.

Hun Feng was the first to wake. He wasn't woken by the light, but because his left arm had been pressed by Yao Yao all night, and it was now so numb it had lost all sensation.

Yao Yao was wrapped around him like an octopus, her face buried in the crook of his neck, her loose black hair covering half of his shoulder.

Her breathing was steady and deep, and a hint of a satisfied smile hung at the corners of her mouth, as if she were having a sweet dream.

Hun Feng's right arm wasn't idle either—Medusa was lying on her side, resting her head on his shoulder, her purple eyes closed peacefully, her eyelashes casting a faint shadow beneath her eyelids.

Her hand rested loosely on his chest, fingertips slightly curled, as if she couldn't bear to let go even in her sleep.

Her wedding dress had already been folded and placed on the low stool at the end of the bed; at this moment, she was only wrapped in a thin brocade quilt, her bare shoulders glowing with a warm, ivory luster in the morning light.

Hun Feng didn't move; he just lay there quietly, looking left and then right.

One was the maid who had been following behind him since the age of five; the other was the Snake-People Tribe Queen, the most beautiful woman in the Fighting Qi Continent.

Now, both were his wives, and at this moment, they were snuggled up beside him, left and right, completely naked.

This feeling was even more damn satisfying than refining the Purification Lotus Demon Flame back then.

As he was thinking this, Medusa's eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes.

Her purple eyes were still veiled with the mist of sleep; upon meeting his gaze, that mist quickly faded, replaced by a faint hint of reproach.

She didn't get up immediately, nor did she withdraw the hand resting on his chest, but simply asked in her habitually cold tone, "What are you looking at?"

"Looking at you." Hun Feng smiled matter-of-factly, turning his head to plant a kiss on her forehead.

Yao Yao was awakened by the movement and lifted her head from the crook of his neck, her peach-blossom eyes half-open and half-closed, her hair as messy as if she had just finished a fight.

She yawned, mumbled a "morning," and then buried her face back in, clearly having no intention of getting up so early.

Medusa propped herself up on the edge of the bed, the brocade quilt sliding off her shoulders. She casually gathered her disheveled long hair, revealing her slender neck and exquisite collarbones.

She turned her head to look at Hun Feng, was silent for a moment, and then spoke. Her voice was still in that cold tone, but in this bedchamber with only the three of them, that coldness felt more like a peace that only those closest to her could understand.

"How do you intend to deal with those people?"

Hun Feng knew who she was asking about. Xun'er, Xiao Yi Xian, Zi Yan, Qing Lin, and Yao Ming—the five people he had detained yesterday were currently being held separately in different courtyards.

He leaned against the headboard, his tone as casual as if he were arranging dinner: "Zi Yan, Qing Lin, and Yao Ming—notify the Gu Clan and Ancient Dragon Island and tell them to bring a ransom to trade for them."

"The Dragon Emperor of the Void Ancient Dragon and the clan leader of the Nine Serenities Deep Ground Python Clan—the two of them together should be worth at least a year's production of spirit stones from Ancient Dragon Island."

"As for Xun'er and Xiao Yi Xian—" He paused intentionally, then said, "They will stay in the East Courtyard to serve as maids for you and Yao Yao."

Yao Yao suddenly lifted her head from his chest, the sleepiness in her peach-blossom eyes instantly vanishing, replaced by a mischievous "I knew it" expression.

She rolled over and lay on the bed, propping her chin with both hands as she watched Hun Feng. The string of silver bells on her ankle, which she hadn't had time to put back on yet, jingled twice with her movement.

"Serve as maids? Young Master—no, husband," Yao Yao corrected herself in time, but the mockery in her tone didn't diminish in the slightest. "Do you really think we can't tell? You just took a fancy to both of them. 'Serving as maids,' you clearly just covet their bodies."

Hun Feng coughed dryly twice, his expression showing a rare trace of awkwardness. "Don't talk nonsense. I am making the best use of everything."

"Gu Xun'er has the God-Grade Bloodline of the Gu Clan; keeping her in the Soul Realm can keep Gu Yuan in check. Xiao Yi Xian has the Calamity Poison Body, and her poison techniques can restrain soul bodies; she has research value for the Hun Clan. 'Covet their bodies,' can't your thoughts be less dirty?"

"Oh, research value." Yao Yao drew out the end of her sentence, her peach-blossom eyes curving into crescent moons. "Then why keep them in the East Courtyard to serve as your maids? There are so many empty side halls in the Soul Realm; why put them in the courtyard right next to ours?"

"And you even specifically had someone turn over a flower plot for Xiao Yi Xian—husband, since when have you been so attentive to researching poisonous herbs?"

Hun Feng opened his mouth, only to find himself speechless, blocked by her words.

Medusa watched this scene from the side, the corners of her lips curving almost imperceptibly before she returned to her cold expression.

She reached out to tuck Yao Yao's stray hair aside on the pillow, then turned to Hun Feng. In her purple eyes, there was neither blame nor anger, only a very faint, yet heavy, dissatisfaction.

"You really went too far this time."

Hun Feng was about to defend himself, but Medusa raised a finger to stop him.

Her tone remained unhurried, but every word seemed to have been carefully weighed before being spoken: "You have me and Yao Yao now. Last night, both of us served you together—isn't that enough?"

As she said this, her purple eyes tilted slightly upward, and she shot him a glare that was one part helplessness and nine parts seriousness.

That glare didn't seem like a rebuke; it was more like a small warning from a wife to a husband who was pushing his luck—a sign that she couldn't do anything about him but was tolerating it.

Hun Feng's heart fluttered from that glare.

To be honest, when Medusa kept a straight face, people dared not approach; when she smiled, people couldn't look away. But only when she rolled her eyes was that contrast from cold, beautiful queen to coquettish wife truly fatal.

He reached out to put his arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him, saying sternly: "Enough. Of course it's enough. I really only kept Xun'er and Xiao Yi Xian to keep the Gu Clan and the Sky Mansion Alliance in check; I have no other intentions."

"Really?" Medusa tilted her head to look at him, her purple eyes filled with disbelief.

"Really." Hun Feng kept a straight face.

Yao Yao chuckled from the side, rolled over to pick up the string of silver bells from the head of the bed, and tied them back onto her ankle. While tying them, she shook her head and muttered: "Husband, your left eye twitches when you lie; you didn't know that, did you?"

Hun Feng subconsciously reached up to touch his left eye corner, then immediately realized he had been tricked, and gave Yao Yao a light pinch on her lower back, annoyed.

Yao Yao giggled, hiding behind Medusa, while continuing to expose his secrets: "When you looked at that girl Gu Xun'er in the Ancient Emperor Hall, your eyes were glued to her and couldn't be pulled away. In the Demon Flame Space, you even secretly told me she was pretty—do you want me to help you recall the exact words?"

"Yao Yao, that's enough!" Hun Feng raised his hand to cover her mouth, but Yao Yao nimbly twisted her waist and hid behind Medusa, sticking half her face out from beside her shoulder, her peach-blossom eyes full of the triumph of a successful scheme.

"Big Sister Cai Lin, be the judge. He has a guilty conscience but won't let me talk about it. That Xiao Yi Xian too; yesterday on the square, he stared at her white hair for at least three breaths—I counted!"

Medusa, being used as a shield by Yao Yao, didn't pull away. She just picked up a teacup and took a sip, her tone still light and breezy: "No need to count. He has the same look when he watches me; I've long been used to it."

Hun Feng looked at Yao Yao, then at Medusa, and realized that his two wives had tacitly stood on the same side, and he was completely trapped in a pincer attack.

He simply gave up resistance, spread his hands, and leaned against the headboard, his tone defiant yet slightly rogue: "Fine, I admit it, I like looking at beautiful women. But you two be reasonable—I'm a normal man; what's wrong with looking at pretty girls a couple of times? I'm just looking; it doesn't mean I have to do anything."

"Doesn't mean you have to do anything?" Yao Yao poked her head out from his side, her peach-blossom eyes squinting into two crescent moons. "Husband, can you look me in the eye when you say that?"

Hun Feng guiltily shifted his gaze to the ceiling.

Medusa put down the teacup, snuggled back onto his shoulder, and closed her eyes as if intending to sleep for a while longer.

But before closing her eyes, she said softly, her tone flat but every word clear: "You can look, but don't let me catch you."
