8: Chapter 8 An unexpected encounter with Li Yiran

The waitress didn't mock Xiao Yuchen and his sister; this was exactly the result she wanted. As long as she scared the two away, her goal would be achieved.

"Forget it, I won't ask you anymore." Xiao Yuchen turned to the waitress: "Check my sister's clothing size, then just get one of every style for her."

Hearing this, both the waitress and Xiao Yuxin were stunned. Although this boutique area wasn't large, there were over a dozen styles of clothing here. Getting one of each would cost at least 200,000.

After being stunned for a while, the waitress asked: "Are you sure you want one of each? That will probably cost over 200,000. I don't have the authority to pack so many clothes at once for you unless you pay first."

"Hmm, that's reasonable. I'll pay first then. Also, I think that long dress in the middle looks nice, I'll take one of those too."

"What? You want that dress? That dress is our store's treasure. The price is 158,000. Are you sure you want it?"

Seeing the waitress constantly questioning, Xiao Yuchen was getting a bit annoyed. "Don't keep doubting your ears. Just take whatever item I mention. I can swipe my card first."

Saying this, Xiao Yuchen handed his bank card to the waitress. The waitress was stunned for a few seconds before taking the card.

After Xiao Yuxin realized what happened, she wanted to stop her brother, but it was already too late.

"Wait a moment, you can't sell it to him. My girlfriend has her eye on that dress in the middle."

Just as the waitress was about to swipe the card, a man led a heavily made-up woman into the boutique area and declared he wanted that 158,000 store treasure.

The waitress heard the voice and turned to look. When she saw the man, she was visibly stunned, and the bank card in her hand almost dropped to the floor.

"Young Master Li, you're here. You also want that store treasure? But this gentleman saw it first."

The waitress clearly knew the man. Although her attitude was respectful, she told the truth and didn't favor the Young Master Li she spoke of.

"That's right, my girlfriend likes that dress. As for who saw it first, what does that matter? He hasn't paid yet, has he? Besides, I have your store's Supreme VIP, which grants me priority purchasing rights."

"This... Young Master Li, I'm just a waitress. Please don't make things difficult for me. How about this, I'll go find the store manager and let the manager decide."

Although the waitress had been somewhat cold towards Xiao Yuchen and his sister earlier, it was only because she was afraid of wasting time. Since they had already decided to buy, she naturally wouldn't look down on them anymore.

Moreover, besides the store treasure, they were buying over a dozen other items. Compared to Young Master Li, Xiao Yuchen brought her more profit, so she was naturally willing to protect the interests of Xiao Yuchen and his sister.

However, she didn't dare offend a Supreme VIP user, so she could only leave this matter to the manager. Though that meant she might have to split her commission with the manager, it couldn't be helped.

Hearing their conversation, Xiao Yuchen frowned slightly. He just wanted to buy two pieces of clothing for his sister; why did someone always come out to cause trouble?

However, he wasn't in a rush to argue. He wanted to see how the manager would handle this.

A few minutes later, the manager came out from the back. The waitress explained the situation to the manager. However, when the manager saw Young Master Li, he was very enthusiastic and even lit a cigarette for him personally.

"Xiao Wang, how are you handling things? Young Master Li's girlfriend wants that dress, why didn't you just give it to her? Don't you know that Supreme VIPs enjoy priority purchasing rights?"

In fact, this priority purchasing right for Supreme VIPs was just a useless feature, because most of the time, clothes in the store were chosen at will, and there was no need to distinguish between who was first or last.

This store treasure had been hanging here for a while and had received no interest. After all, many people couldn't accept spending over 100,000 on a single piece of clothing. Unexpectedly, today it was caught by two wealthy people at the same time.

"Manager, isn't that inappropriate? This gentleman has already given me his bank card. As long as I swipe the card, the dress belongs to this gentleman." The waitress argued again.

"You also said you haven't swiped the card. Since the card hasn't been swiped, the dress is still ours. I can sell it to whoever I want. Besides, look at how shabbily they are dressed. Are you sure there's that much money in his card?"

The manager's words were sharp. He looked down on Xiao Yuchen and his sister from the bottom of his heart. Moreover, he rarely had the opportunity to suck up to Young Master Li, so he naturally didn't want to miss this chance.

"This... Alright, I understand."

The waitress had no choice. She had done her best in this matter; she simply couldn't stop the manager's decision.

"This gentleman, I'm sorry. This dress has been reserved by Young Master Li. Would you like to look at other clothes? Besides this store treasure, other clothes here are quite nice. Spending over 100,000 on a single piece of clothing really isn't worth it."

Xiao Yuchen had previously noticed that the waitress wasn't very enthusiastic towards him, but her recent performance made him look at her in a new light, so he didn't blame her.

"I want that store treasure. Today, I'd like to see who can snatch something out of my hands."

Xiao Yuchen was truly angered by the manager. Just as he was considering how to teach the manager a lesson, a familiar female voice reached his ears.

"Yuchen, why are you here?"

The person speaking was none other than the Young Miss Li Yiran, whom Xiao Yuchen was supposed to protect.

"Yiran?"

Xiao Yuchen was also very surprised. He didn't expect to meet Li Yiran here.

"I came here to buy my sister two pieces of clothing. Oh right, let me introduce you. This is my sister, Xiao Yuxin. Yuxin, this is my classmate, Li Yiran."

Xiao Yuchen thought about it and decided not to tell his sister about the other layer of relationship between him and Li Yiran.

"Hello, my name is Li Yiran." Li Yiran extended her right hand first.

"Hello, my name is Xiao Yuxin. Big Sister, you are so beautiful."

Xiao Yuxin wasn't lying. As a beauty herself, she genuinely thought Li Yiran was very beautiful.

"You are very beautiful too. I didn't know Yuchen had such a beautiful sister. No wonder his resistance to beauties is so strong." Li Yiran teased with a hint of implication.

Seeing this scene, the manager and the waitress were stunned. The manager, in particular, broke out in a cold sweat, because Li Yiran was their Young Miss. The entire Century Center Plaza belonged to the Li family, and he had actually offended the Young Miss's classmate.

"Yiran, stop joking with me. I don't have strong resistance; I just have self-awareness. Let's not talk about that. What are you doing here? Are you here to buy clothes too?" Xiao Yuchen asked curiously.

"No, this plaza belongs to our Li family. Father asked me to come and inspect it. I didn't expect to run into you. By the way, what happened here?"

Hearing the Young Miss ask about this, the manager's heart sank to the bottom. Offending the Young Miss's friend, the consequences were imaginable. And from the way they addressed each other just now, it was clear that their relationship didn't seem as simple as just classmates.

Xiao Yuchen didn't hide anything and briefly explained what had happened. Upon hearing Xiao Yuchen's words, Li Yiran's expression changed instantly.
